Thanks. I could have played today, but I decided to just stay home and didn’t touch a club. This is not normal for me. It was also cart path only today  

I spent yesterday working on a swing change.  More of a setup change than anything.

Some positives:

I started out strong with two pars straight off the bat.

All those 9-hole rounds I played last autumn really showed up with my chip shots and pitches. I was feeling pretty confident in my choice <50 yards in toward the green.

Disappointments

I couldn’t find the correct pace on the green. Due to a recent aeration, I kept leaving putts short of the hole. I noticed that it threw me off when it came to short putts as well. Lack of confidence and frustration just refused to go away completely.

I blew up on the 7th hole. Afterward, I could get myself to land par, much less a birdie. It was frustrating to watch it unfold.

Learnings and goals

That score of 9 on the 7th hole should not have happened. I need to bear down and minimize easy mistakes by keeping focus of what I want to accomplish with each shot.

I’m on the course on Monday. We’ll see how that goes. There’s been a bit of weather, and I’m not sure with I’ll be riding or pushing.

Another uninspiring round, lol.  My driver worked half the time, and was fighting just to make par most holes.  Head just wasn't 100 percent in the game.  My buddy had a decent round though.

Good round - I have played there before, when I lived in Smithfield, decent layout - have you played Johnston Co CC?  That's a fun track to play.
