tony@CIC
Wife and I played the front today. A STRONG wind from the north over Lake Erie created a wind chill that had to be in the 40's. We were originally planning on playing 18 but we were soooo cold after 9 we went home. I got an unremarkable 45 and she ended up with a 46. Popular Post cksurfdude
Played 18 today and we're not gonna talk about score. And especially not about tee shots. Nor bunker shots. But here's something interesting - this course had these clever little contraptions in the holes.... See that orange "handle" sticking out above the cup? You pull it up with your putter and in turn it raises a metal plate from the bottom of the cup that lifts your ball out..! OK, I did manage to pull off a few (very few) decent iron shots and short approaches over 18 holes; and even got one par and one bogey on the shorter Par 3s (..so i got _that_ going for me...). Popular Post cksurfdude
Hit the rebound side of my Yo-Yo golf game = one up/one down/one up/... Was out with my honey and I finished with my PB for 9 .. edit: at this course .. @ +4 (Par 35). But... note, tho, this is a short (just under 2500), easy (not even rated) 9-hole course. I just felt more relaxed today and the groups were well spread out; in fact, the group behind us was slow and we never really saw them. So it was nice and quiet and mellow and it was warm and sunny with a light breeze and just a *GREAT* day to be healthy and alive and out on the course! Tee shots still need work - especially on the two Par 3s I somehow managed to duff both (low-right) - but a few were solid and "out there". The bright spots were my approaches and wedges - got to use my divot tool a bunch of times today! Not sure whose PW was in my bag today but it was hot Even pulled off two high lobs with the 58 from about 37 yds out each time, and putting was good with 2 x 1-putts and no 3-putts. One bogey .. almost kinda funny .. approach was short and plugged waaay down under the front lip of the front bunker; took the 58 and jammed it down hard under the ball to pop it up and out .. which i did .. a little too well, maybe .. it went about 10 ft in the air STRAIGHT UP in fact I had to lean back as it came down literally 4 inches in front of me!!! Hey but at least it was out Made a nice up and down from there (yea!). Oh, PS: Played the MaxFli today and maybe that ball just suits my game? Popular Post zrumble
First 18 hole round in months today, one 9 hole round previously, and I shot an 82 in a moderate breeze (15mph). Gave up most of my shots around the green, even though I was hitting chips and long putts solidly I was just not getting within about 5-6 feet enough. Usually right on line too, just too short. I did hit the best 5 wood of my life today. Tried to hit a draw around the corner on a long par 5 off the tee. Blocked it, and it ended up on the next fairway. Bit of frustration came out on my next swing with a 5 wood, hit a nice little draw 270 yards on the neck between the two green side bunkers. Got up and down for my only birdie. Go figure lol. cksurfdude, MaxEntropy, Kenny B and 7 others 10 Quote Stats: 5'4", Male, R-Handed, Moderate Tempo, Driver SS 115mph Driver: Taylormade SiM Max 9*, TM Ventus Blue 6X 3w/5w: Callaway X-Hot, S-flex Fubuki shafts 3h: Tour Edge EXS Pro, Smoke Black 80g 6.0 4i-PW: Mizuno MP-4, DG S300 Wedges: Titleist SM7 56* Wedge: Callaway Jaws w/ 12* of bounce

Popular Post THEZIPR23
68 8/14 FIR 10/18 GIR 23 putts!!! Pretty much made everything I looked at. The best or second best putting round I’ve ever had. 13 1 putts. It’s just too bad my swing didn’t join me until the 9th tee. 1 over after 8, birdie the next 4 and the 18th. 7 total birdies. butters
Was not in a good mood when I saw the conditions of the greens when I arrived. Definitely were in my head the first few holes. Was just about ready to leave. A few beers later I calmed down a bit. Popular Post GB13
I broke 70 for the first time today, so I played really well. Shot 69 with 6 birdies, so it could’ve been better yet. Putter was on fire as were the irons. Driver not so much, but my misses were still manageable. 3/14 fairways 10/18 greens 22 putts Edited May 16, 2020 by GB13 Rickp, MaxEntropy, yungkory and 13 others 15 1 Quote Wilson Staff C300 9.0* Fujikura Pro 58 stiff Callaway Rogue 3W Mitsubishi Diamana D+ LTD 80 stiff Mizuno MP-18 MMC FLI-HI 2 iron UST Mamiya Recoil 95 stiff Ping I200's 4-W Aerotech Steelfiber I110 CW stiff Ping Glide 52* and 58* stiff Bettinardi Studio Stock #38 Armlock
Popular Post mr.hicksta
Got in a much needed, daylight chasing round at Enagic Golf Club at Eastlake which turned out to be nice little round to prep for my round at Torrey Pines South tomorrow!!! 84 (40/44, 82 ESC) - 2 birdies, 8 pars, 5 bogeys, 2 doubles and 1 quintuple bogey FIR 6/14 (43%) - Aside from a couple holes, I was strong off the tee today and it felt great! GIR 5/18 (28%) - Irons and wedges were so so overall, but I made it work! 28 putts - 8 1 putts and ZERO 3 putts. The putt total probably should've been 2 or 3 less, but I missed a few short looks. All in all I couldn't be happier with my putting today! Absolutely fantastic out today! How about this dumb pin position? Josh Ross
Solid day on the course, but definitely could have been better. Shot 79. Highlight of the round was getting birdie on a hole that in over 100 rounds I had never birdied before. The par 5 10th at Whitepath Golf Course is only 531 yards but requires the most precise tee shot ever if you want to go more than 6 iron off the tee box. I took it safe with the 6 iron, it goes downhill to a pretty tight fairway but being down the mountain it goes a long way if you hit it in the short grass. I then hit a mammoth 3 wood and found myself with a short pitch shot to set up a 5 foot birdie putt that I drained. Happiest golf moment of my life, this hole has terrorized me for 16 years and I live 10 seconds from the tee box so it's always just laughing at me daily. I've shot under par on the back multiple times, birdied the hole before and after, but that hole is the Bermuda Triangle of golf. Today, I conquered it! It quickly became the second happiest golf moment of my life on the next hole, a par 3 that's almost 150 but plays 118 going down the mountain again. I hit one pin high, had almost 10 feet left for birdie. But my 6 year old nephew hit his driver inside of me and had a chance at his first birdie and par, but settled for a three putt bogey. Still such an awesome experience. Popular Post yungkory
79 4/14 FiR 6/18 GiR 31 putts with 1 3-jack Still not hitting it well off the tee, or off the fairways to be fair LOL. Scrambled decently well and made more putts than I normally do, which at 31 putts is pretty sad! Going to grind my putting stroke out with this Puttout mat and try to shave some strokes! Popular Post Peaksy68
First round back after courses were closed late March. Pretty scrappy, 11 over with a couple of 3 putts. Greens were a bit slow and I struggled a bit with reading the speed. Going in to a round with new wedges probably wasn't ideal, but practice opportunities weren't available so I decided to roll the dice. Highlights were a birdie on a hole I hadn't birdied yet this year, and a recovery from the knee deep jungle that I managed to get on the green. Weather was cool but sunny, and it was great to get back out there. fozcycle, Kenny B, cnosil and 10 others 13 Quote 849 Pro Evenflow Riptide 6.0 F8 3 & 5 Woods Project X Evenflow Blue 6.0 TS2 7 Wood Project X Evenflow Blue 6.0 MP18 MMC - Project X LZ 5.5 Zipcore Wedges 50,54,58 - Project X LZ 5.5 MLA Tour Mallet 33" Z Star Pioneer bag buggy
