Totally a forgettable golf round, I hope. Driver was working well but couldn't hit my irons and forget about putting. Always fun though when you play with MGSShark, and 2 brother in-laws on the course your nephew is the superintendent. There is always next week!!!!

Yesterday was a 2 man Best Ball tournament. At the time yesterday, I was disappointed that I didn’t play better, but in retrospect (and looking at everyone else’s scores) I played pretty darn well.

I did get up and down for par 14 times. I spent 2 1/2 hours in the short game practice area Friday morning, and I needed it. My ball striking was terrible on the first 4 holes. 

Sadly, we ended up tied with 4 other teams for 4th in a rain shortened event. Today was totally washed out. Part of me wanted to go out today, but the conditions yesterday were brutal, and today is worse. 2” of rain and 39 mph gusts.  

I turned in my score card, but I bogeyed number 9 and doubled 18 and parred the rest of them. While 9 & 18 are not stroke holes for me, they should be in this wind. Especially number 9 that is basically TPC Sawgrass #17 but stretched out to 175 yards yesterday. It was a $10k Hole-In-One hole and my main goal was to hit it across the green so I could drop close to get up and down for bogey.

First year I'm submitting scores for an official handicap since I don't get an estimated one from my gps app anymore. First round I submitted was a 72 iirc but it was a much more playable course. I've been watching the index rise ever since. . . Regardless, I've been playing terribly lately. Part of it is bad luck, part of it is mental. I'll get it sorted soon though.

Hmm, can't seem to upload the screenshot of this round at the time of posting. 

Slope/Rating is 65.8/114.

Pretty decent round, almost replaced the good score on the same course that had dropped off my card a few weeks ago.  Kinda thought that would happen.  Should be coming well under this by the end of the season.

Hard to see the progression and the change from first to second half as I can't upload the scorecard, but did well on the first half with solid putting.  Came in 51 with 16 putts.  

Second half fell off a bit as is usual, especially since I started allowing some adult beverages in.  Mostly it was good.  Tee shot accuracy went from 22% to 56% with both par three greens hit. Putting suffered however, with two 5 putts.  Overall had 27 putts on the back 9.  Had I hung on to my putting it would have ben an absolutely stellar round (for myself anyhow).

This week was a tough one. It was the first time the more difficult side of the Snowflake Muni was open out of the 27 we have over here. I have been wanting to play it for a while just to see how well I can do. Well, I have some work to do that is for sure. It has nothing to do with the equipment, just me. I played awful compared to how I have been playing/practicing. I think for some reason that side of the course gets to me mentally. All the tee shots are in some awkward places, my distances don't quite mesh right sometimes, and if your tee shots are not on that day it is going to be rough. However, I still very much enjoyed myself and had some great shots. 

Haywood irons - 

These clubs did not disappoint during this round! I may not have hit them that often but when I did the confidence was through the roof. I will be doing a much larger post in my actual review, but suffice it to say that I was rather impressed with how these irons performed. My biggest takeaway was just how far these irons go. With my Srixon irons, I generally hit my PW on average 164 yards. With the Haywood irons, I flew the green at 170 with PW. Granted there was some downwind but not that much. The greatest example was Hole 15. This hole is a short par 4 about 303 yards according to my Garmin GPS. I hit a perfect 5 iron expecting it to land short of the green and maybe roll up (lots of downwind by the end of the day). But my ball landed short and rolled over the green. Even though the hole was downhill and downwind, I have never hit a 5-iron 315 yards. It was insane!

Putter - 

I felt pleased with my performance with the putter. I added a KBS single-step shaft to my Void putter and I feel my confidence go up tremendously! I had a lot more one putt than normal and I had a better than average putt number by the end of the round. 

In all, it was a fun start to the season. Hoping to post a better round here soon!

The input for long drive was inadvertently disabled. It will be back, with the caveat that long drive for each flight will be recognized in the weekly recap, but won’t be worth any bonus points in the season points total. Also, an input for actual birdies or better will be added with the same intent.

@GolfSpy_BEN I’m trying to find something in the thread to colculate the course hdcp. I’m probably blind. 
 

my GHAP sits at 9. And the course adjustment number for the tees I played is saying 112%. What am I missing??
