They are awesome spin is great on less than full pitches and chips. Spin in wet conditions is solid. Trajectory control is good. I like them a lot and I really liked the T22’s I replaced with the MG3’s. They raw face is nice. It’s a great wedge. I see why they got such high marks in the most wanted test. Highly recommend.

Me too but I am super accurate with my Vokeys and not sure if the M3's will make a noticeable difference. Must be something to them though...

New putter arrived yesterday. This is my first time building a putter around fitting instead of the opposite. I moved to a mallet with a bit more toe hang. Built an Evnroll ER5vB with short slant neck, and a LA Golf P-Series-SOHO. Had the red paint fill changed to green to go with the shaft; and added a GFORE head cover. Really dig how the shaft darkens when viewed from an angle so it’s not distracting at address.

REALLY interested in hearing your thoughts on the 16.5.  I have the TSR3 9* in the bag, and the TSR2+ 13* on the way... trying to decide whether or not to go to the 16.5* or the 18*.

My thoughts may not apply to you. I’m 68 yo and my driver swing speeds were 90-95 mph at fitting yesterday - fitter said that was good for my age, but he has to be nice to customers… I’ve always had higher launch angles than my peers, when younger and all along, but I’ve lost a little launch angle with age (drat).

The 16.5* FW is replacing a 15*. And FWIW the 11* driver with a D3 hosel setting (more loft) is replacing a 10.5* and the 21* FW is replacing a 19* 3H. The fitter said I carried the TSR2 16.5* further than the TSR2 15*, and I could see that clearly. I had noticed my trajectory was lower than ideal with all my old metals/lofts before the fitting, so I wasn’t surprised to get a recommendation to loft up some. The 16.5 and the 21 flights were a thing of beauty to my old eyes.

Just paid for a L.A.B Putters B2 on eBay. I have been interested in the concept of these for a while but they are hard to find here in Aus. and paying close to 1K or more to get one here from the USA was going a bit too far. Anyway, I won the bidding on this one at A$360 so looking forward to seeing if it is money well spent or not.

Yesterday hit the Mizuno 923 7i with a recoil shaft at the Altamonte pgatss.  Love the look and feel. Also tried the Stealthm loved the distance but not as happy with spin.  Really want to swing some pxg’s then decide.

I received a gift card and a trophy for winning B flight at my last golf outing. So off to the local golf store. I don't need much but I hated the grip I put on my putter at the beginning of the season. It was a superstroke 3.0 Flatso. It just wasn't working. I went from being a good putter to an average putter. Shorter putts were the worst. I know it wasn't the putter due to the only change being the grip. So I went to get a Superstroke Tour 3.0. That one is on my old putter and I loved it. 

Dumb ass should have checked the gift card. It looked like a Visa on the outside. You know the gift wrapped looking one. I'm about to get out of the car and decided to take it out of the wrapping. To my surprise it was an Amazon card. Well I was committed to the grip so I just paid for it.

Woo-hoo now I can shop on Amazon. I scored a new pair or Addidas Code Chaos golf shoes. They should be here Wednesday. I still have more to spend but I'm just not sure what else I want.

I installed the grip and it fits my hand so much better. I can't wait to get a round in with it.

Grafalloy Prolaunch Blue .. 45/A .. is now my driver shaft, replacing the EvenFlow Riptide CB .. 50g/5.0 .. I'd ordered with the Gen 5 0811XF.

Been tending towards lighter/flexier shafts in my other clubs; been reading through @azstu324's interesting experiment ...

 

..and looked at the TXG vids about this.

Took my wife's driver to the range to test it out, see how it felt, and well now I'm in, too!!

I was told when I started playing golf that I should play the softest flex I could control.  Made sense at the time.

One unexpected benefit I'm seeing with a softer shaft .. umm wait a sec .. with a softer GOLF CLUB shaft .. is it's encouraging me to swing more carefully, more in control.

In just one range sesh so far I'm already seeing better results!

I picked up a Callaway 4h Heavenwood with a L shaft for $50.  Been experimenting with it.  So far a keeper.

My 7 wood arrived on Monday, and I was able to take it out yesterday for its maiden round at the local 9-hole short course. Only had one chance to use it, but with it's first-ever swing on the 8th tee I piped one 234 straight down the middle of the fairway. I think I will get along with this thing just fine! The Tensei AV Raw Blue 75S is incredibly stable - I feel like I can swing easy or really lean on it and get predictable results either way.

So I posted a photo of a Club Champion box arriving at my door...last week.  I'm sure I've violated multiple unwritten rules of the forum to post such a tease and then wait so long to show off the box's contents, but I honestly didn't open it until yesterday...things still very much crazy on the home front.

Without further ado, a few new sticks are in the bag...

TSR2 driver, 10 degree head, Ventus Velocore 6s shaft, Golf Pride MMC Midsize grip:

Also had my Callaway Apex Pro 3 and 4 hybrids (20 and 23 degrees) re-shafted with Ventus HB Velocore 8s shafts:

I also had the shafts pured, or SST Pure'd per the Club Champion sales pitch.  It had the slightly odd effect of putting the shaft graphics in different orientations from club to club, which won't bother me but is eyebrow-raising:

Not sure when I'll get on the course with these but hopefully sooner rather than later...

So my Club Champion box was received yesterday, but I'm heading back out to Victor with it this weekend. I don't think my shafts were Pured as there was no sticker and there's a rattle in the 3 wood. Slight disappointment with hopefully a happy ending coming.

Going Ventus all the way here, fun to see and hope you hit them great. On a recent TXG video Ian was mentioning a custom shop could probably do pretty well with just the Ventus wood/hybrid line up as their only options. I just picked up a Ventus 6X for the driver and really like it so far.

Not what I would expect when opening a CC box for sure.  Hope it all works out quickly and easily.
