Looking for a 5 wood. Need that 220-250 distance. My 4 iron isn't getting nearly 220 and I don't really like the look of hybrids. :-)

I was in Dick's today and noticed they had a Cobra F7 hybrid that the loft goes from I believe 16 up to 19 or something like that.  I'm thinking about trading in my Mizuno 16 degree hybrid because it has a stiff shaft.   Either that or change the shaft out on the Mizzy. Anybody have any experience with the Cobra F7 hybrids?

Thinking about the Adams DHY, Ping Crossover, G30 hybrid.... or ???

Any recommendations?

Cobra F7 5W. It is hands down the most versatile club I have in the bag. I can hit it out of 6 inch rough. It is worth a look and I believe cobra dropped prices recently. It's worth your time to give it a test. Cobra also has some nice free upgrades in shafts online as well.

I can only speak to their F7 woods which are awesome and have same tech as hybrid.

Do you want more of an iron look or a hybrid look? I have the DHY, Pro DHY, TEE CBh Pro, TMB 716, Apex UT and X Utility. The Adams stuff is solid and fly nice and flat.

I keep having this internal debate on that... been going back and forth.  Appreciate the recommendations!

Do you find the "utility iron" as good/better than the hybrid?  More demanding/less forgiving?

What are you hoping to get out of the club. If your looking to get out of trouble then the UT iron is miserable out of there. I have the 2i Apex UT and unless I was in fairway or off tee I never used it. It is also a strikers club it does not favor any sort of miss hits. Which was why I opted to go with the cobra 5W and now I have one club that does it all. I'm sure their hybrid does as well.

I carry both a hybrid and a utility iron in my bag and they are used for different shots. I have a 24* Apex UT that is essentially a 3 1/2 iron that I hit off of the tee and into par 5's. I find the hybrid a little more high launching and a lot more forgiving that a utility iron but got to a setup that compliments each other. I like having both in the bag for versatility.

Feels great and looks stupid easy to hit. The one in the pic is 21* and was used a lot with an older set of irons I had. Does not fit my gaps well with my Apex Pros.

Cool!  I have a 21* hybrid and the versatility is one of the reasons I was considering a utility iron like the Apex.  Not sure I've got the game for that one but there seem to be some pretty good choices out there...

I would say stick with another hybrid since you have one in the bag already you will find it to give you a more consistent gapping then going to a UT iron. I could be wrong but I think unless you are catching it consistently off the screws the UT iron may not suit your needs.

The Apex UT is very easy to hit. Hollow construction and internal weighting are saviors. I would go and hit a few to figure out what you like.

Your best route maybe to take your swing speed into account. I personally agree with Jmikecpa that the UT iron is easy to hit but then again I play off fluctuating scratch to 2 handicap and have a 115-120mph swing speed so I crush the two iron as I don't need the help. So me saying the club is easy to hit is only relative to me. Anytime I let any of my friends hit the club that range from 6-14 handicaps they couldn't hit the ball anywhere near as far as they could do with their hybrids. So if you feel you need a little spring off the club face hybrids will offer that. Again this could all just be relative to my friends. Also definitely go hit and get some numbers for comparison

My wife is going to hate me.

That's OK my wife is convinced I'm nuts, at least where golf is concerned.

I spent all my early life hunting and fly fishing throughout the Northeast until our kids came along life went on hold. Then after kids bailed out discovered golf. Rest is history

Went to pickup the G400 this morning. While I was waiting I tried a few putters. Oh oh, the o works putter is really, really nice and feels great.

I've never been a fan of a putter that looks like it's previous life was on the hood of a late 40's or early 50's Desoto or Packard but this may change my mind.

I have the F7 3-4 hybrid so it goes from 18°-21°. I absolutely love it. So easy to hit out of the rough/bad lies. I even use it off the tee at times. I previously owned a Fly Z hybrid that I replaced with the F7. F7 overall fits my gapping better.
