juspoole
Got out to the range yesterday to work hard on my driver swing. The driver has always been my largest detriment and costs me the most strokes during the round. I've been having a high push fade or a low hook miss from what has been coming a over the top and leaving the clubface wide open or trying to save it and shut my hands and close the face. The frustrating part is that with the driver being a longer club, it's really the only club that I notice any issues. My irons are very consistent and my short game has been good so far this year. I was fit to my driver last year so I feel like equipment is good. I've contacted a local pro about lessons, but unsure if i want to go that route just yet since I feel as I know my issue, but just can't sync up the swing properly. Hopefully I can continue to work on it and iron it out into a playable club. sirchunksalot, Rickp and cksurfdude 3 Quote Driver: Mavrik Sub Zero 9* (Set to 10) Ventus Blue 6X 2 Hybrid: TSI3 Hybrid Tensei Blue 80 X (17.25*) 3 Hybrid 818 H2 Hybrid Hzrdus RDX Black 6.5 (20.5*) 4 Iron - T200 4 Iron Graphite Design Tour AD IZ X Hybrid Shaft Irons 5-PW: T100-S 5 - GW KBS Tour 130 X Gap/Sand Wedge: Vokey SM6 49* SM8 54* Lob Wedge: Jaws 5 Wedge 58* DG Tour Issue Stiff Putter: Phantom 5.5 34" Pro Platinum Newport 2 35" Taylormade Tour Black Spider 34"

PMookie
Got two large buckets and went back to some old drills from my coach in NOLA. Ahhhh. I started feeling like I had a swing again. pulledabill
Spent 1.5 hours over a large bucket. Best range sesssion all year. Alignment sticks and ball placement were my main focus. Only hit a few shots with the woods. Struggled with my 4h and I cant figure it out. I think its mostly a set up issue. bens197
Putting day. I get caught up in reading about good putters and their techniques. Snedeker, TW, Loren Roberts. Each one has given me a good set of points to focus on. Brandt Snedeker says to focus on the shaft as an extension of your forearms. Tiger’s drills that I’ve been working with are holding my finish to the target after the ball goes in the “hole”. The other is a version of his “gate” drill. Loren Roberts stroke is the visualization I have during my stroke. If you’ve never seen him putt, hit up the YouTube and watch. He really was the boss of the moss. cksurfdude, tony@CIC, heavygolffeels and 3 others 6 Quote PING G400 LST Mitsubishi Tensei White 60X TaylorMade SIM2 3 wood Fujilkura Ventus Blue 7-X Titleist U505 2 Tensei 1K Black 85 X Titleist T100 4-P Nippon Modus 3 120X PING S159 50-S 55-H 59-T DG X100 L.A.B. edingc
I snagged some wiffle balls so I could practice full swings in the back yard. I had foam balls previously, but they tend to fly too far. The takeaway from my last lesson that I was standing too close to the ball is really that I've had terrible balance in my swing, and with my weight on my heels my hands wanted to work so close to my body to stay in balance. Getting my weight my onto the balls of my feet made it much easier to feel like I am a little more "stretched out" with my hands. Spending a lot of time finding the right feeling so that I can stay balanced all the way to the finish of the swing. Easier said than done... sirchunksalot and cksurfdude 2 Quote Unofficial WHS Handicap: 3.6 / Anti-Cap: 9.9 (Last Updated Sept. 1, 2024) Driver: Callaway Paradym TD (10.5°), 45.75", Fujikura Motore X F1 6X | Fitting Post 3 Wood: Cobra RadSpeed Big Tour (14.5°), 43", Fujikura Motore X F1 7X 20° Hybrid: PXG 0211 (2020 Model), 40.25", Mitsubishi Tensei AV RAW White 90X 4 Utility: Cobra KING Utility (2020 Model), 38.5", Aerotech SteelFiber i110cw Stiff 5-PW: Ben Hogan PTx Pro, 37" 7 Iron, Aerotech SteelFiber i125cw Stiff | Club Champion Fitting 50°, 54°, 58°: Edel SMS, V Grind, Nippon Modus 125 Wedge| Official Review Thread Putter: L.A.B. russtopherb
First range session of the year! Took my son out and we hit a large bucket each. I only hit driver a few times since the sun was just in that right spot where you couldn't see the ball once it got about 10 yards away. So I mostly stuck with my 54* and scoring irons just to knock the winter rust off. My son was trying out 3 different drivers to see which he liked the best since he's at least 4"-5" taller than last summer so his US Kids driver isn't going to work anymore. I stood behind him to watch the ball since he was losing it in the sun also, looks like my Cobra F6 is going in his bag for the season. His shots were all slight pushes but he was consistently hitting 180-200 yards with that one. He's on the fence about PGA Jr (if there's a season) but he's itching to get back out on the course with me. I love it. artful_golfer, Rickp, sirchunksalot and 3 others 6 Quote In my Big Max hybrid bag: ST-X 10.5* Kai'li Blue R Flex ST-Z 15* Kai'li Blue R Flex ST-Z 4h Linq Blue R Flex Halo XL 5i-DW CBX 54* & 58* ER5 Tour S
yungkory
Hate the range, but bought that Mizuno CLK off eBay and wanted to get some swings in before putting it into play. Gotta say, it's the least left-biased hybrid I've ever tried, stupid easy to launch vs. the G410 Crossover, and seems to spin more keeping it in the air longer. Excited to get it in play. pulledabill
Went out this morning with a large bucket whi h was a waste of $9. As soon as I hit the first few balls, I realized how sore I was from my fitting the nigt before. I took a break, pounded an iburprofernTylenol cocktail, slammed a cup of joe, and stuck it out, but with a lot of wedges. Ended up giving part of the bucket ti a couple kids. Headed up to Tokatee in the morning so did some day off stuff then practiced some chipping and putting tonigt. Jmikecpa
My son had a lesson yesterday so I hit some balls on the range and then spent two hours rolling putts on the practice green. Still a little off with the putter but starting to feel a bit better after yesterday. downlowkey
Hit (3) large buckets of 3/4 wedges after a quick 9 holes this morning. My hands and elbows are sore, but I can’t seem to stop myself. May head back out there for another session after work this evening. edingc, cnosil, sirchunksalot and 2 others 5 Quote PXG___0811 X 9* - Mitsubishi Diamana s60 Limited X Cobra___S9-1 Pro 15* - Matrix Ozik XCON 7 S Adams___XTD Forged 3i - Matrix Ozik Program F15 120 S Adams___CMB 4-PW - Matrix Ozik Program F15 120 S KZG___Tri-Tour 50.08__54.10__58.12 - Accra iCWT 2.0-95i S Nike___Method Converge B1-01 (copper insert) Maxfli___'23 Tour X "The most important shot in golf is the next one“
Jmikecpa
Took an hour lesson today with our head pro as a tune up for the year. Didn’t really change anything with my swing and we are still working on staying shorter with my backswing and staying connected with my arms and rotation. Went out and played 4 holes after my lesson in 2 under so that means I will shoot a million tomorrow. tchat07
Went to the course for the first time since November and just hit shots that I have been practicing on my net for the past 2 months. Distances are all off kilter but thatll come. Amazing the difference between hitting off a mat in tennis shoes and hitting off uneven lies in golf shoes. I felt gigantic standing over the ball haha.Sent from my SM-G950U using MyGolfSpy mobile app sirchunksalot, cnosil and cksurfdude
