Yesterday they decided to take up residence on the green on 3 and kindly left presents all over the green. I didn’t finish that hole. I didn’t want to end up “going viral”. While on the tee on 4, 2 more geese flew in to join them. Apparently number 4 is in the landing pattern. I work my way around the course and discovered they decided to pick up stakes move to the tee box for 6. These geese must hate me. There’s a lovely big pond between the green on 3 and the tee box on 6. I teed up from the red tees on 6. Good move. They can get pretty nasty when you get close to the little ones. One day a couple of large trucks showed with along with large nets. A crew went around the course capturing the geese and bringing them back to the trucks. Later on the homeless in Denver were fed a nice meal. I cannot verify this story but did notice a lack of geese last time I played there I've heard there is some truth to this, but I also heard that it was expanded to a number of courses in the Front Range. Second hand information, but the locals were not happy. I think it's a great solution to a challenging problem. I offered my services with a bow to a former private club and was told that it wasn't ethical. Beats the heck out of a .22 and much quieter. Accuracy is key. Yes I let them soak in the sink (can usually do 2-3 at a time) for about an hour maybe 2 depending on how bad they are. Then I just rinse them out really well in the tub and they are practically brand new. I also let them hang dry in the basement. I have a Nike RZN fitted that I have had for about 7 years and every time I wash it comes out bright white and the black has nothing in it. Yep, those Puma snapback hats are my new go to (I have 3 of them and they are very comfortable), but I do have a Ben Hogan hat I really like, and just recently bought the Ping (Green - Masters Edition) hat. A couple of non-structured hats I have are the Snell hats. The Titleist fitted hat I have is only worn for mowing the lawn as it stretched out and got all wavy around the fitted part. russtopherb
Anyone else get minorly annoyed when things like golf, music, or other very common hobbies are completely botched in photos or in books? Like, drumsets set up completely wrong in photos, "golfers" in ads holding clubs backwards, etc? Here's what prompted this - I'm reading a book my father dropped off by an author I've never read before, but so far it's been a decent read. There's a scene where two characters meet at a private course for a talk, and one of them starts things off by saying "I bet I put the ball in the hole in 2". I'm like, ok.... never heard anyone put it THAT way but whatever. He proceeds to take the shot, puts it 3 feet from the cup, then is described as putting his DRIVER back in the bag and making the 140 yard walk to the hole. Uh..... what? Well what year was it taking place I am sure some time ago 140 of the tee was a good hit. You know like when the ball was full of feathers.
