Lane Creek - Georgia Get Togethers!

I'm looking forward to many of my MGS buddies coming through Georgia to join me for a round of golf at my home course which is Lane Creek.  Lane Creek is located eight miles from my home. It's in a small town called Bishop, Ga. It's a sweet little course at 6678 from the gold tees and 6171 from the blues. Don't let the shortness of the golf course fool you.  It has plenty of bite even from the white tees at 5526.  The front side only has one par five so two of the par four holes are challenging for all skill levels. The greens are the teeth of the course with undulation and fast greens.

The back nine is even more beautiful with several challenging holes in an awesome setting!

I'm planning on hosting a MGS Southeast Get Together at my course this year.  Hopefully some of you in this part of the country can come join us for a fun day of golf in Georgia

 

 

 

I'll use this thread to post Get Together's as they happen.

 

 

Tomorrow DawgDaddy is coming up to join me for a round of golf at Lane Creek.  He has played my course so many times and he could be labeled as an associate member.    He knows it that well.  Hopefully we will see quite a few of us join us in the near future!

It'll be hawter than a two dollar pistol but not too hot to golf .

 

You still thinking about coming down to Georgia and visiting? We might even be able to round up two or three foursomes of MGS'ers⛳️🏌️

Work still debating what days to give off but yeah if it works I'd head out here 2:30pm fri 6/30 & need to back Sunday early eve 7/9.

Wouldn't be there all that time.. Probably 2 day travel each way.

Great pics ole gray, I am looking forward to teeing it up with you at beautiful Lane Creek in a few hours.  It is always a challenge playing the course but the views are beautiful and I always end the round happy because of how great the course is and how much fun I have getting in a round with og.

Awesome day at the creek with DawgDaddy and a soon to be NEW MGS member!  Our buddy Will will be joining the forum tonight.  Not sure what his forum name is yet as he is keeping it a surprise however he will be a great addition to the site.

 

DawgDaddy was not playing DawgDaddy golf on the front however he came back with a strong back nine with a 39.   I think he beat me by one shot today so kudos to my buddy.

 

We all had a great time and as usual lot's of laughs and good conversations.  It's simply a good darn time when we get together!

Ok after much  thought on the subject we are going to have an Ole Gray Invitational at my home course!  Beautiful Lane Creek Golf Course is a place for anyone in the Southeast to come and have fun.  Hell if ya live anywhere on this side of the globe you are welcome to join us.  Atlanta is on a few miles (75) from my course so not too far for you world travelers to bring you arse in for a great time! Plus we have some pretty  good places to bunk down in Athens, Ga. home of the Georgia Bulldogs. Soooooooo I'm thinking this Fall in October we need to have the inaugural Ole Gray Home Boy Invitational at Lane Creek!

 

We need to a  have spys meeting spys outing and this is an awesome Southeast location to have an annual Get Together of Epic (Not necessarily Callaway) proportions....  I have not settled on the date  as I need to have a meeting with my club.   

 

Ok so who would be interested to coming to Lane Creek and meeting a boat load of Spys!?

The location is good for young and old.  The young bucks can hang at in the college town of UGA and try ya best to stay out of trouble.   You old bucks can hang out on the out skirts of Athens and try to behave ya selves...     The thing is the golf course is fun, just ask Dawg and a few of you anonymous rascals here who have played it.

LC is an excellent course and more importantly, OG, Kelly, and DD are terrific folks.  I will be there for at least a round if the date works.
