So interested in hearing who's had it?   Your experiencfes with it, what made you know you needed it, and how did it go afteward.  While I'm of course interested in how it affected your everyday life, we are all here for golf.   So I'm very interested in how it affected your golf.

What was the recovery time before you could play?  What toruble did you experience while playing?   Did you vision improve, able to see the ball much better in flight?  Read puttts Better?

I've got an appoitment with a opthamologist, to discuss it based on an eye exam this week.

Any and all expreinces are welcome.

I have not had it, however my FIL is an optometrist (well retired as on Christmas) and has done countless post ops with patients. I have not heard of one where there wasn't a noticeable improvement in vision. And most are a few days recovery time and that is it.

Rob your vision will definitely improve once the cataracts are out, and if you go with premium correction lenses, it could be better than ever, so your golf game should be better than ever too! 😂

Didn't have Cataract's but did have the Lens replacement surgery (same surgery for Cataract's) on both eyes Aug/2020. Dr. used the diamond knife tool to make the slit (as opposed to using a laser - which is also common today). Other than that their is little difference in the surgery's, with the Lens installation being done the same after both procedures. One eye and then two weeks later the other eye.

I played golf the day after surgery both times with no issues except that I didn't need glasses and I could see the ball all the way down the fairway. It did take a couple of days for vision to be "normal" - now My vision is 20/15 and the only issue (which does not really bother me) is the "halo's" around lights - especially in a dark room or at night. The little blue lights on the stove/microwave and other devices light up like a Christmas tree for me. Some people say they get "floater's" - but I have not had those at all. Lucky I guess.

Good luck, hope it turns out as well for you.

My parents both had it done and Mom's worked very well, no issues at all vision improved dramatically.  She is a big college basketball fan and can see the score tickers at the bottom of the TV screen better than me!

Initially both worked well for my Dad but after a few days vision in his left eye went bad due to issues with the blood vessels behind the eye.  I don't know the details but he really can't see out of that eye.  Now he was about 90 when he had it done so there are a lot of age related variables that may not be related to the surgery.

Thanks for the Info.  I don’t know yet if I’ll be needing it. But my Retina specialist I see every year mentioned they have increased since last year.  And my corrected vision has gone from 20/20 to 20/30.

I noticed the other day when I played I had trouble seeing the ball land beyond 175 yards or so.

i have an appointment in April with a ophthalmologist to get seen and discuss.

improved vision would definitely be a good thing.  Especially at night.  Where I have noticed it’s not as sharp as it was a couple years ago.
