There just aren't many organizations willing to throw such big money into challenging the PGA. Their product has withstood, and continues to, any challenger on a level playing field? If LIV makes it through this year and once the Fed ex cup finishes I would expect more defectors. Players will take the money regardless of where it comes from. How much it will challenge the product the tour puts out has yet to be seen. 3 Quote G425 LST 10.5 Aldilla Rogue White 70s TS3 15.5 3W Fuji Speeder Tour Spec 818 H1 19deg Hybrid Fuji Atmos White JPX 921 Hot Metal 4-PW Nippon Modus 120s SM8 50,54, and 58deg Dynamic Gold Wedge Flex Spider Tour Putter Vice Pro Plus White or Titleist ProV1x Hoofer Stand Bag V8 3 Wheel Push Cart 300 PRO Rangefinder Official Nippon Regio B+ Driver Shaft Review
revkev
I have very little time to both watch and play golf - given the choice I always play. For example I haven't seen the final round of a Masters in years because I'm normally playing at that time. I also enjoy Hockey and Baseball more than watching golf. Plus frankly its a pretty lean field - just not interested at this time beyond the attempt of a go at it and how the dynamic between the two major world tours and the LIV will play out. I do recall the days of the AFL and ABA so I know it's possible for an alternative league to start and succeed but for every success there has been multiple failures. I was very young but I do recall all the lawsuits between the AFL and NFL, the alternative drafts where players had to choose - it worked out in the end - 5 Quote Taylor Made Stealth 10.5 Aldila Ascent Red R flex Ping G410 5, 7, 9 wood Alta 65 R flex Wilson D7 forged 5-GW - Mamiya recoil 460 R flex SCOR 52, 56 Ping Glide 3.0 Ping Eye 2 grind 58.8 L.A.B. GolfSpy_APH
I said this in the other LIV thread, but yeah I'm going to tune in for at least a little bit out of the curiousity for how bad or average the coverage is. I'm not going to set my alarm to watch, but my curiosity definitely has me interested to see how this first event goes and what the product is like. I'm not a supporter or fan of this series, however as it effects my other golf watching I feel I should at least see what its like even if only for 20 minutes. So Jaime, it would have to be becoming eligible to hold a tour card again and applying for membership, so... 1) Won a tour event in the last two years, or a Major in the last five 2) Finish in the top 125 in FedEx Cup points for a season 3) Go through the Korn Ferry Tour and get one of the cards there 4) That special temporary membership route, but you'd need to make enough points to finish top 125 to regain your card and you'd be ineligible for the playoffs, like Zalatoris last season Also worth noting, they'd like revert to the bottom of the priority list as well I would think if they got membership back and their exemption into a higher tier of priority expired in the meantime, so you might have to slum it out over the Fall series to up that ranking. EDIT: Priority List rankings are here from the 21-22 media guide. Phil could be top of the eligibility chart until 2026. DJ fits Tier 3 until 2025 and both could use their one-time lifetime earning exemption. Other players would slot in behind, like Sergio, Louis, Na, Gooch, etc. 3 Quote In a Hoofer Lite bag ST180, 10.5, Kuro Kage Silver TINI Dual Core 60-S Epic Flash Sub Zero, 15*, Kuro Kage Silver TINI Dual Core 60-S CBX119 18* Hybrid, Project X Evenflow Blue, 6.0 JPX 921 Hot Metal Pro 4-P, Nippon 950GH Stiff Flex CBX Zipcore 50* (bent to *49) and RTX Zipcore Tour Rack 54* (bent to *55), DG 115 Spinner, Tour Issue Smart Sole 4.0 C, DG 115 Spinner, Tour Issue SIK Golf Flo-C Z-Star XV Divide
Golfspy_Lukes
Only because I want to see the train wreck I have absolutely ZERO interest in it as a golf tournament. No Laying Up did a great job talking about LIV on the their latest podcast. Take out the Saudi stuff and sportswashing. Just look at the product itself. Reading the comments from the press conference today, it is blatantly obvious that this is all a glorified exhibition. 550025KV
I'll go on record as a 20% interested observer. I'm more interested in seeing how this plays out with the various Tours. Part of that has to do with my disdain for Greg Norman. He's a pompous ass. His countryman Wayne Grady said it best. Google it and you'll see. The quality of field is a joke. They all hide behind the veil of "growing the game". That's total BS. If it wasn't for the $$$, not a soul would have showed up. 1 Quote Mav SubZ 9° Mav SubZ 14.5° Mav SubZ 16° Mav 4hy Apex CF19 5- AW Hogan Equalizer 54° Cleveland 58° Odyssey StrokeLab 7s TaylorMade TP5x
