Popular Post EasyPutter
Good morning MGSpies from a good weather morning in WNY and good for many things this first Friday in May mine getting logged in on the network for all things payroll as it is that time again to ensure everyone gets what's earned. Coffee will certainly help as mind was most busy last night after the Community Call and PGA HOPE first session followed by a drive that began in low angle sunshine arriving home after dark. Bedtime delayed helping son negotiate group work treachery that has again exposed exclusionary behaviors of group leader and 3 others unwilling to stand up to his actions - made for a short night strategizing how to mitigate effect on his final GPA. Popular Post Cfhandyman
Good morning to all. Needing a few extra shots of espresso this morning. Popular Post Rob Person
Good morning spies! Is it really Friday? May will be a whirlwind, and this week alone events could fill a whole month! No golf this weekend, but hoping I can convince the lady boss to make a pit stop on our road trip to Mobile today in at least one golf store. Like alot of other colleges, it's graduation weekend. My youngest is graduating and we are excited for him! He gets married in 2 weeks after this as well, and then moves to Tennessee to start his new adventures in life! Popular Post Girldad18
Good Friday Morning fellow spies!! Prayers up for @StrokerAce @Erin B and @Dead Solid Bogey For me, my middle daughter has a follow up with the doctor about her tummy. Still no answer as to what is going on. Popular Post cksurfdude
And another good tgif morning to y'all!! Looks like this weekend is going to be a washout here, so gotta get some strokes in today - scheduled a lesson for midday so a little warmup / practice first then maybe venture out for 9 after if there's an opening. Also gonna miss out on a round on Sunday with a friends' daughter and her recently now husband, but maybe we can pivot to a lunch get-together. But first some coffee and my heating pad on the back .. then back roller, stretching, yoga .. and look at a few of those pesky monthly bills... Of the two, I'd obviously rather get in on the championship course but either would be nice. Good morning Spies. I awoke this morning to find two emails. I got in both tournaments at Royal Dornoch! One is a seniors-only stroke play for handicaps less than 24.0; the other is a Stableford event for all men with caps under 24. The seniors-only is the one on the championship course. As somewhat expected, I'm paying for last night's workout a bit, particularly in the right shoulder after heavier-than-usual dumbbell presses. Hoping that over time the post-workout discomfort will subside as I get stronger, but for now... Let's just say I will have some issues getting through the airports on my flight home today. Earlier this week I was listening to PGA Tour Radio while driving from Charlotte to Raleigh. Katrek and Maginnes were discussing tournament formats on Tour after the team event in New Orleans. They didn't mention one of my favorites, formerly played at The International outside Denver: Stableford. And now I'll be playing in at least two Stableford tournaments in Scotland (my own club has a Wednesday Stableford event while I'm there). But the Tour modified Stableford to punish players who made bogey or worse; in traditional Stableford, bogey is one point, double bogey is zero and anything over that you just pick up. I called to discuss that with them but was still on hold when the show ended. Popular Post Steve F
Good morning MGS Nation! Absolutely beautiful morning here in Maryland! 60 degrees, low humidity, very light breeze... perfect morning to get lost on the way to work and get 9 in! If only! The tea is hot, and Apple Cinnamon. Planning to get some iron practice in at lunch, league play irons were not so hot this week. I was able to get to the practice green last night to get in some more baseline data for the TM Spider: unlike @Cfhandyman who got good news via phone that his DF3 was arriving today, mine is still scheduled for Monday. The only good thing about that is, it gives me more time with the Spider to build more data. (and practice!) The weekend here looks like a washout, like @cksurfdude, but I'm going to hold out hope that I can keep and get the round in Sunday. The Much Better Half is a teacher, and today is "spirit day". She left the house dressed in an orange tutu, orange and white leggings, orange sneakers and a white, orange and black shirt. I have to say, she was adorable! Definitely gave me an ear to ear grin! I hope everyone has a great day, positive thoughts and wishes headed to all of you and hope that golf figures into your plans today as well! Hit 'em straight MGS Nation! Popular Post tdc1
Good morning, everyone! Looks like not too much golf here over the next week -- rain every other day and errands/projects. Yesterday I did my first course rating of the year. It was a 9-hole par 3 course with the shortest hole playing a little over 100 yds. but with 5 holes playing in the 170+ yds. range. Pretty large greens but nothing very flat. I'm glad that the USGA is allowing/encouraging short courses to be formally rated for slope/rating. Hope everybody has a great day! Popular Post Mr_BogeyPro
Good morning, fellow golfers, I was able to escape and play 18 with my daughter yesterday and had an amazing round. I shot a +6 at Rivard Golf Course in Brooksville. My drives were working. My irons were on point. My chipping was so so, but my putting was dead on. It was one of the better rounds I have had in 25 years of playing. Where is everyone playing this weekend? Popular Post MattWillGolf
Good morning Spies, Happy Friday. Uppa with a cuppa. It’s a beautiful sunny morning in CNY. Yesterday’s dentist appointment didn’t go fully as planned. The cranky tooth was pulled. It had fractured completely in half. But there was an infection going on so no post was implanted. So it turned into a quick appointment. But will return in 90 days. My wife made me Italian “penicillin”. Chicken soup with pastina. To which I added some avocado. Very tasty indeed. Looking forward to tomorrow’s delivery of Nemo, the orange DF3, for the Forum review. I also received notice that the Ghost Anyday bag with the forum logo will deliver next week. Yeah, if I was just a tourist (not a Scottish club member) looking to play the championship course that week, it would be 280 pounds. The combo ticket with Struie is 325. I got to play RDGC last year because of a tournament but not in a tournament; the event was cancelled because of horrible weather, but the pro said you've paid, you can play if you want, and I did. When I got up to the clubhouse restaurant after the round, I told them I was in the tournament (breakfast and lunch were included in the entry; I didn't do breakfast but went up for a late lunch). I never will forget this, a server named Patricia looked at me and said "Did you play golf in this?" Yes, I did. "Are you nuts?" Why, yes I am. Looking forward to hearing good things in evening thread. Everyone have a great and safe day! Hit 'em well and enjoy the time spent with friends and others... Oh, I did forget to mention I have been placed on time out from the PGASS again... But that's ok cause the spousal unit didn't say anything about Golf Galaxy. Hope you all have a good weekend and again, from the bottom of my heart, thank you. rkj427, tdc1, Girldad18 and 16 others 14 3 2 Quote Driver- Cobra Aerojet LS 9.5 Woods- Cobra LTD 3w 15*, 5W 19*, F9 24* Irons- Titleist 718 AP2 (6i-50*) Wedges- Callaway Jaws Raw (54/58) Putter- Axis1 TourHM Ball- Maxfli Tour X Buggy- Motocaddy M7 GPS Remote Electric Caddy Bag- Motocaddy Dry-Series Proudly testing for 2024:
Popular Post sirchunksalot
Good morning everyone and happy Friday! First off, I want to send my best to @StrokerAce @Dead Solid Bogey @Erin B and @Girldad18 I'm thinking about Y'all and the hardships you are all going through. I'm hoping you all get good news or answers to your problems. It's a rainy morning here so I'm just drinking coffee and preparing myself for today's festivities. My wife and I are taking her lease car to trade in them going to a nursery to see if there are any plants there she wants for her birthday. She might break the bank if there are. I got to play yesterday, a 9 hole round where the play was decent and the fun was great. I shot 52 which is trending in the right direction with my dysfunctional game. I actually got up and down out of the sand for a par, I can't ever remember doing that. I'm terrible out of bunkers since the courses I play the most don't have sand. I wish nothing but the best for each of you as you start your weekends. ILMgolfnut, tdc1, ejgaudette and 19 others 11 1
Popular Post MN_Hacker
Happy Friday!!! Hopefully everyone has a great end to their week, and an even better weekend. I probably won't be golfing this weekend, but I will get a TON done around the house and yard now that the rain finally stopped. snoopy79, ILMgolfnut, EasyPutter and 12 others 15 Quote Paradym driver Paradym X 3HL Paradym 7w Maltby KE4 Tour TC 5 Hybrid Paradym irons 6-AW Jaws Raw 54*, 58* Versa 3T

Playing in pretty much of a hurricane, I hit an 8-iron farther than I can hit an 8-iron on #10. It cleared the front bunker by a few inches, rolled up to about 12 feet and I made the putt. Afterward, before my encounter with Patricia in the restaurant, I was telling some guys downstairs about that birdie, and they asked "how did you hold that green in this wind?" My answer was, of course, I have no idea. Below is the 10th green in considerably better weather. That cavern front and center is the one I somehow carried that morning. Pin position that day was pretty close to the one in this picture. Byrnzee, William P, ejgaudette and 13 others 6 10 Quote Obsessed with chasing the dimpled orb. Popular Post David Leighton Reid
Good Friday morning! In my round yesterday, I made 2 very bad swings that led to a double and a triple. Even with 2 bad holes, I had an enjoyable round with 11 pars, 5 bogeys, and the previously mentioned disaster holes. To make matters worse, I lost 2 very good golf balls.
