My first duty assignment was at Malmstrom in Great Falls, The scenery was beautiful (except for the winters being a little bit chilly). Got lots of memories and experiences that were great from that area. I remember my gas line freezing while I was driving between Dillon and Boulder. They had a nice course back then- but it WAS a trek to get to any others

Top of the pot spies .  I'm sitting here having a second cup of joe and we're watching two male quail fighting each other in our front courtyard.  What could they possibly be sparing about?  Suddenly a female emerges from the oleanders... never saw that coming .  Getting to play for the first time in over 10 days of rest and repair. It's been hell not playing but fortunately the practice chipping and putting areas have avoided the use of tranquilizers .  Have a great day everyone!

Top O' the Morning! Reflected a bit on my terrible round yesterday (my game is going backwards and I am in my head).

But most of all, I am thinking back to my amazement yesterday watching a 15 year old high school freshman (he and his dad were paired with a buddy and me for our 11:30 tee time yesterday) blast bombs off the tee and show off very consistent ball striking with his irons the rest of the day. As we walked to the 8th tee (a shorter par 5, 476 yards from the tee), the kid's dad said this is the kid's eagle hole on the course. He proceeded to bomb a drive 300+, then hit his second to 5 feet, before dropping the fairly easy putt for eagle. It was fun to watch.

After our round, my buddy and I had a beer and chilled on the patio for 45-60 minutes after our round. When I left, the kid was still on the range...inspirational.

Good morning all! Well not so much for this guy. Tested out the Burner mini driver yesterday and it was a blast. However, was taking the dog out last night and had a slip and slide incident on the wet grass. Heard and felt the pop on the inside of my right knee. Try swing motion once upstairs and nope. At docs to find out how long I’m on the sideline. Was hoping to convince the wife I need the Burner Mini lol.

Good Morning all.  I have today and tomorrow to myself. Our pro is taking wife and two other ladies from our club to play in a 2-day Pro-Am at Wildhorse Resort and Casino in Pendleton OR.  Should be interesting.

After a few household chores I will spend the day at our club working on parts of my game; maybe sneak in 9 holes walking.  Grass and trees are getting a little stressed with lack of water.  Temps are pushing 80º and our irrigation water has not been turned on; apparently line maintenance and pump repair.

Been on my usual Monday morning call for the last 2 hours which is scheduled for 2  more……pretty boring.   

Even though I took allergy medicine when I got home yesterday and this morning i am still pretty congested.  Wondering when pollen season will be over.

Ready for the work day to be over; I know it just started a few hours ago, but ready to head to MGS HQ to do some more testing.

Good morning everyone. Had a nice weekend with a date afternoon bike ride with the wife that finished off with some Thai food that was a lovely time. Sunday was a washout with the rain in the area so we took a lazy day around the house which was a nice break as well. Have a mini-vacation coming up this week with a morning nine to kick it off on Wednesday. So just two days of work, one of the best ways to start a work week. Hope everyone has a great day.

We had another frost warning this morning and right now it's chilly but also a beautiful morning.

Good morning... I'm starting to believe that there is a higher power doing it's best to stop me from playing golf in Denver. Between the 3" of snow that dropped last Saturday and the 2 days of rain followed by 2 more days of snow this week - I'm not sure when I'll get the opportunity to get off of the sim and onto some grass.

Just got through all the emails.  I've had my coffee. Took care of Chamber business. ( President of the board).

No golf today rain off and on all day, gray skies, it's no warmed up to 40°. Supposed to get a little warmer.  Rain most of the week projected!  Ugh. All I can say is nature is loving the rain.  The trees are starting to bud and are getting a little green.  

So, guess I'll stop in and see some people I've missed all winter!

If you get a chance to hit the little white ball, have a fantastic time for me!

Morning y'all, cleaning up some case files before heading back over. Had an ok weekend with a decent Record Store Day score for the missus, although nothing really for me by the time we got in the store, then spent some time for a family dinner on Sunday. In all, a weekend that left me more frustrated than anything else because I seemingly move to bad headspaces more frequently than I'd like and am having trouble getting out of them. Perhaps it's the weather, perhaps it's a vitamin deficiency, perhaps it's just good ol' undiagnosed depression... but it is something I'm going to keep working on this year; we'll get it squared.

Good morning, Spies!  

I was off the forum much of the weekend b/c I was practicing or playing.  Tweaked my back Saturday on hole 1 of 9, and soldiered on, including by playing 18 yesterday.  I could baby the driver and wedges were fine but the back really jacked up the iron striking.  Luckily my short game reappeared and saved me from myself repeatedly.

I think I will just take it easy in the desk chair today.  More travel on tap this week, with warm weather golf Thursday and Friday.  Hoping the back is better by then.

Small order from sub70, the leather scorecard book caught my eye immediately as I've been carrying previous cards and notes on my usual courses lately. 

I was due for a fresh glove, so giving sub70 gloves a try. I think the black looks very sharp in person, the pictures on the site were a little duller.

Give them a heads-up!!  The course is closed after the tournament on Wed-Thu for aeration.  Hope the greens are decent.  Usually the greens are great.  I love them!

I have asked to have my training program focused on two areas, one, ways to strengthen my lower back and two, exercises that cater to golf. 

Congrats on your last week of work before retirement.  Exciting times!

Good morning all, yes it is still morning on the west coast, just an update on my 1st. tournament of the year, a local tournament called "Island Open". it is a two man best ball with 3 separate categories, my partner and I (my friend from Vancouver) played in the "senior open" division, no handicap... we were 2 stroked down going in to day two, tied it up by hole 15 on day two and had the best time fteling the heat for the finishing holes, we were even going into 18 and our opponent sunk a 18 footer for birdie to beat us by 1.... it was a great way to start the tournament season...

Good mornin west coasters - it's afternoon here in Florida, Just got back from playing 18. Day started out sunny and no wind then clouds, then rain, then the wind picked up. On the last three holes the sun finally reappeared. Had several bad holes - including one water ball but was able to scramble back and card an 88.

Well today was a different day as I shot my age first time ever , a smooth 36/36 with a triple bogey , a bogey , 4 birdies and all others pars , didn’t see this coming after shooting a smooth 87 on Friday , WTH ?

My buddy called the superintendent and asked what the plan is. Super said yes they are aerating, but using some machine called a "DryJet". Plugs and fills at the same time. Looks like a cool machine and play is supposed to be open an hour after it goes through. Either way there are still holes in the ground which leads to bumps and fun time putting. Needless to say my buddy is more than a little pissed off. They paid $700 for this tourney and will be getting IMO crappy greens.

I checked their aerating schedule.  They are also closed in May, August, and October.  I played there last June and they were great.  Maybe this machine will help speed up the healing process.  Our greens were done 6 weeks ago and they are still crap IMO.
