Popular Post skraeling
Know how I said I was gonna take a rest before league started next tuesday? Sigh... already booked 9 holes for saturday. I mean come on, its going to be 80* and not have rained in a day so I couldnt resist. Really did want one last round where I actually attempt to score well (from the new tees I have to play) before league starts. Be a bit of a change playing there the whole year. Seriously there will be guys around my age or younger playing from tees 50yds closer on some holes Needless to say I might not be winning much money this year haha. Ah well at least im honest about it. Gotta wonder how many will be playing the closer box just for an advantage, 5698yds from the whites vs what ill be playing at 6090yd on the blues. If anything I suppose this will maybe help me reach a new level having to play there regularly. Popular Post jbern
Good morning! Thanks @Josh Parker for sharing your great photos and thanks for all the kind words about the eclipse photos I posted. We had an awesome day yesterday viewing the eclipse in Findlay, Ohio. My wife had to work (new computer system coming next week), so I took my three kids to enjoy the eclipse festivities with other family members. If you have not experienced the totality zone of an eclipse, it's an experience that's very hard to describe (and unfortunately won't be in our area in my lifetime). Everyone was in awe, even my 19 month old rooted her feet in the same place for over 5 minutes as things darkened to black and the experience of the totality took place. She doesn't stay still for 5 seconds let alone 5 minutes and I'm telling you that her feet DID NOT MOVE. She was just turning her head, pointing at things and making incoherent sounds. Even though she won't remember it, I thought it was a good story to tell because it's just a naturally awe-inspiring experience that even a toddler picks up on as being special. We waited several hours to start our drive back to Michigan to avoid traffic and we made it home just in time to catch the last 6ish minutes of the NCAA finals. I was rooting for Purdue, so it was a disappointing game for me, but UConn looked to be the far superior team and made good decisions and executed on a good game plan. Today is supposed to be beautiful in Southern Michigan, so hopefully I can get my work done today so I can golf 9 holes later this afternoon. Have a good day everyone! They tee off from the tips and most of the round their tee shots don't even make it to the fairway. A couple of weeks ago I played a course out in Gold Canyon with a friend who lives out that way and we got stuck behind 4 such young men. The second hole is an easy par three and my group was on and off very quickly. I had my partner drive us up to the next tee box where the first guy had slapped sliced his first ball into the houses on the right. There were four really pissed guys on that tee box. The tips on this course are WAAAAAYYYYY back. I climbed out of the cart and asked, "Are you guys having fun?" "F*** no", one responded. The other three just glared at me. "Its clear you guys set this up as a day of fun. It is also pretty clear you all have full time lives that do not include much golf." I was being a diplomatic as possible. "Why not move up to the white tee boxes. That last shot would have been not just in bounds but on the edge of the fairway from the white tees. " Now they were getting pissed at me. I held up my hand, "And you guys will have fun out here. Okay I will shut up and leave" As I climbed back in my cart the four were talking. I was astonished when they hopped in their carts and pulled up to the white tees. At the end of the round they were sitting at the 19th hole having a beer. One of them came over and thanked us for suggesting moving up to the white tees. They all scored okay from there and had a really good time golfing. Good morning spies. Neck stiffened a bit after the Rypstick; just got out of the whirlpool bath for aquamassage, but it's not terrible. Also been sleeping on a heating pad which helps. It was my first workout with Rypradar, and the speed it was giving me (inside) was a few MPH below what my Garmin has been telling me outside. But I'm also swinging the Rypstick, not my driver. So we have these variables: inside vs. outside, Rypradar vs. Garmin, and Rypstick vs. Mizuno. So what does that mean? I still don't think I'm entirely comfortable taking full swings in the relatively confined space of the garage at this point. Next time I'll eliminate a variable by swinging the driver for the speed measurement. If the driver numbers are closer to what I've been getting outside, but still below, I'm down to a radar difference or I'm still not swinging as hard as I can inside. Just a FYI - typically an imported vehicle engine or other major powertrain components typically are more expensive than the American vehicles, due to both quantity originally produced and how many actually may be here in the USA. Popular Post sirchunksalot
Good morning everyone! It's a dreary, rainy morning here in TN, but I'm enjoying my coffee before heading in to work. I'm just happy it's hump day and the weekend is just around the corner. @russtopherbI'm just glad to hear that losing oil like that you didn't blow your engine. I had an issue similar to that happen over 10 years ago and my engine was toast. I couldn't afford to get out fixed at the time as I was trying to but a house and couldn't risk taking a loan out to get it fixed. Fortunately, I work for an automotive company and they offer leases. I'm looking forward to tomorrow with the community call and the start of the Masters. I won't get to watch any of it until Saturday, but at least I can keep up with all the action. I hope y'all have a great day! Josh Parker, ZJeb67, berkeleybob and 20 others
Popular Post Northern Monkey
Morning all, a nice sunny start to the day here and hoping it stays that way. Will be out for another 18 this afternoon, 6th round in 7 days, so it certainly seems that the golf season has started. Hope you all have a good one ParFore74x, Michael.Sandoval33, William P and 20 others 17 6 Quote Driver: G430 Max Fairway: LTDx Max 3 wood Hybrid: Mavrik 3 hybrid Irons: Mavrik 4-AW, Wedges: Jaws MD5 50 and 56 wedges Putter: Mallet Ball: Chrome Soft
Popular Post ejgaudette
Good morning all! Yesterday was just an absolutely beautiful day here. Bright sunny skies and in the 60s. Kids ended up being outside for about 7 hours and I was able to join them for the last 4 or so once work was done which was beautiful. @russtopherb glad things have worked out, and hopefully there are a few pennies left over for some golf too. Back to grinding through report errors for about 8 hours, rinse and repeat lately. At least there will be more Masters coverage to fill the next three days! Have a great Wednesday everyone! Popular Post berkeleybob
Morning all. Happily went out for exec nine holes this morning. It was a bit of spring briskness outside, and I think I needed this fresh air and exercise. @russtopherb Count me as one of those guys who dealt with an engine suddenly losing oil while out driving. Ugh. Hope your engine is salvageable. I also drive a Hyundai, but I think my model is unaffected. Hope you guys have a good one. rkj427, IndyBonzo, ZJeb67 and 19 others 22 Quote WITB 2024 DRIVER AEROJET 10.5° | FAIRWAY ROGUE ST MAX 3/15° HYBRID G410 21° | UTILITY 699 V2 U 5/23° IRONS 699 V2 6-PW WEDGES CBX 2 50°, 54°, 58° PUTTER KING GRANDSPORT 35 BALL MODEL | PRO WHITE/BLUE ICE BAG 3.5 LS | PUSHCART RV1S

Sorry to hear about your engine issues @russtopherb! And I’m VERY jealous of your golf this past week @Northern Monkey(heck, I think we all are)! Excited to watch the Par 3 on TV today as we get close to the Masters! Hoping the weather holds out for Thursday- would love to see a more “firey” Augusta for once.
