First, our washing machine decided to pour water all over the floor last weekend. The repair person said he could fine nothing - it was either a fluke, or it was just overstuffed. (Probably the latter, tbh.) Second, I managed to wreck my bumper Tuesday by hitting a building. (Well, the wall of the parking garage door b/c I was putting an address in the GPS and stupidly got distracted. Totally my fault.) Then, my eldest daughter got into a wreck in a Lowe's parking lot yesterday. Everyone is fine and it was not her fault, thank goodness, but ouch. Not tempting fate, just saying: that's three! Thankful for that after 100 plus all last week. Quitting work early around noon to get out and play 18 before the holiday and my home club closing the course for the week after. Probably my last round for about 12 days,but I'll be ditching most of my electronics until Monday, so that will be nice! But the 80 degrees at 7am tee time made for a good sweat, Lol. Course was cart path only, it didn't matter because we were walking. Hurricane Hangover led to a poor ball striking morning, but that's ok. Course wasn't beat up by Hurricane Idalia, greens were in great shape. Great news about your wife @sirchunksalot!! I needed it, and I'm hoping it will fix a few of my aches and pains. Looks like showers starting in about an hour or so... no golf today. Temp is supposed to be a ridiculously low 68º for a high for the last day of August. I decided to rest from golf today and fix dinner for my wife; she is returning from Seattle this afternoon. Last night I soaked navy beans and the baked beans are already in the oven... ready in about 6 hours. Baby back ribs are prepped and ready for the smoker in about an hour. Finally, I'm making potato salad. I thought about buying some at the deli but they don't make it the way I like. I hope everyone is having a wonderful day and I hope you can get out to play. Thursday, I spent two hours at the lawyers concerning the broken horn situation. For 5 min, I explained the situation to the attorney. He answered in the next 5 minutes. A) Considering the possible civil suit:The incident happened off company property on my time off, so company has NO liability. The animal’s net worth is already far greater than mine, doubtful the animal would want anything I had. B) Considering the possibility of cruelty to animal charges. Lawyer would plead diminished capacity on my part, done deal. We then talked golf for 1 hour and 50 minutes. At the end of that discussion the attorney said that I would have to check with a more specific and specialized legal expert on my getting and using NONconforming wedges to complement the rest of my NONconforming golf game. Got back home and found the family enforcer up to her neck in life insurance informational materials. She seemed quite disheartened when I explained that in all likelihood that there was no prison in my future. I then proceeded to take the rest of the day off to engage in my own personal version of trauma therapy relief. Golf is heavily factored into the next 3-4 days. Been a rough ride at work this week and a three day weekend is definitely what the doctor ordered. Prescriptions for golf were picked up at the pharmacy and tee times are set for Saturday and Monday. Sleep was the second prescription so the alarms have been deactivated until Tuesday. For me it is another no commute, hoping to work only 1/2 day on real world job requirements on a scheduled vacation day. Part of the results of short staffed since the pandemic, and it doesn't seem anyone wants to work these days. As I mentioned before, this weekend is our car club's annual show, and as chairman, I have a lot to do in making sure we are good to go for this fund raising event tomorrow. Part of the reason I missed the community call. Link below is to a tv promotion that aired on Fox 2 Detroit, yesterday about the event. I sent 6 other members who volunteered and it gives some information on who we are, and what we do for Leader Dogs. Have an in-studio interview with CBS Detroit later this morning as well to promote our group and it's efforts. For me, the Labor Day weekend will be Sunday, a day of rest, and scheduled round of golf on Monday.
