sirchunksalot Posted October 22, 2023 Share Posted October 22, 2023 Good morning all! It's a cool, sunny morning here. I don't get to see the 8 a.m. sun too often, now that I think about it. It's rather delightful. I'm settled in comfortably now that my animals have almost decided how the want to sit. Our pug is still being a bit neurotic and occasionally sitting up on her hind legs and placing her paw on the hand holding my phone. I had a fun time attending a play with my wife last night that celebrated the 100th anniversary of our local library. My sister-in-law that was married to my brother invited us as she was in it. Currently about 40 degrees, but tee time at noon shows mid 40's warming up to low 50's throughout the afternoon. With the fall season definitely upon us, and limited daylight and sunshine, making the best of any opportunity to get out and get rounds in outdoors. The young professional education, social worker, and counselor corp are restoring me to my former position as the anti-role model for incoming first graders. There was some discussion of me giving a TED Talk ( believe it is still called Show & Tell ) for the first graders, but that was left on the table for later discussion. The SHE being is still engaging with the program on her OWN, another reason to be thankful. Freedom in that it will be a balmy 90 degrees and I am heading to the golf course. Going to KISS….. Go to course. Do not talk to the bag ( again the GOLF one ) or its occupants. Play the round and go straight home. Sometimes the simple and direct way is the best way. I ventured into a new sport yesterday. Biathlon. Yesterday’s session was a brief introduction that concentrated mainly on shooting. Shooting is something I have not done since my Army days. The rust seemed to come off quickly. My first series was 5 shots, 5 targets down. Nowhere to go but down. It was a fun day and now it’s something that bears further investigation. Oh and if you think golf is an expensive hobby, check this one out. I like the idea of a sport/ activity where you get to lay down part of the time. Unfortunately, as the current husband to you know who, I am NOT allowed 2nd amendment or any other rights. Today is a new sport for me too @MattWillGolf and Jamie @GolfSpy_APH knows it all too well as Curling is the next VA Recreational Therapy activity I'm going to try. After that running to Rochester tires son had delivered to the house for his MG Midget project car, probably take him to dinner too. Makes for a splendid way to cap off the weekend. Cold this morning, dropped down to 32 degrees F last night, but supposedly getting warmer as the week goes on, reaching maybe 70 degrees F a day or two.
