Popular Post Northern Monkey
Good morning all on a lovely sunny start to the day. I’ve got a tee time booked for later so will be able to get my first full round in with the new Cobras and looking forward to playing them. As I’m not on duty for the next 4 days I’m hoping to get a few rounds in but as always it’s dependent on what the boss has planned for me. Sure there’ll be something but with any luck it will still allow time for golf. Hope you all have a Good Friday and enjoy your long weekend for those that have it ejgaudette, snoopy79, Rob Person and 20 others 15 8 Quote Driver: G430 Max Fairway: LTDx Max 3 wood Hybrid: Mavrik 3 hybrid Irons: Forged Tec 4-PW + GW Wedges: Jaws 56 SM9 52 Putter: Mallet Ball: Chrome Soft
Popular Post berkeleybob
Morning all. Ooof, we had a village meeting with the municipal/county government last night. So I missed the community call. In the next few years, the transformer station next door is expanding its property to twice its size, and a motorway/highway will be cutting through within a half-mile/kilometer. We were meeting to find out how the government will us improve the village to maintain its attractiveness, but it went off track when a couple of residents dominated the meeting and turned it into a woe-is-me episode. Believe me, I’m not happy either, but we were meeting to come up with solutions and budget recommendations/approval/blessing. Oy, what a mess. I’ve got some updates ahead. I started my Fit For Golf workout schedule this week, so first impressions are coming up. I’ve got a pet pic to post. Also I played some golf yesterday, so I’ll be posting a VCT score. Popular Post rkj427
Good morning Spies on this partly cloudy Friday morning here in the Motor City. Hoping that today is a better day for me than yesterday, as I had issues at a doctor appointment with medical insurance coverage or lack of due to my former employer not submitting required paperwork for either my medical insurance or Medicare. Took me about an hour on the phone with both to get the information and forms I needed, and then I sent them to my former employer HR department for them to complete and send back to me electronically. With the upcoming holiday weekend and knowing how many people did not come into the facilities, it will be next week until I hear back. Hoping to get to the range either today or Sunday, as those will be the only days open on my schedule before I start the drive to VA on Monday. Hope your day is the best it can be, and that something enjoyable is in your plans. Popular Post Wheelieb
Morning All, The bag tags are sweet and never got a response from the guy. Now I know why based on @GolfSpy_APH’s comment here. Nothing wrong with waiting until they have a good one to replace it with. Last day of learning how to write a resumé in class. I feel the instructor gets a bit off topic and starts talking about other areas we need in retirement that you don’t think of. That’s great, but there are classes for that offered at the same building. I love the info. I think they should make all this stuff a two week course so it’s not so condensed. I once heard someone say a tree is 90% air, but so is a screen door and you ain't hitting a golf ball through a screen door. Oh man, how to describe the last 24 hours, other than Adventures in Travel. I mentioned the airline rebooked my flights yesterday because of expected bad weather in Texas. That was only the beginning. Cali to Phoenix was routine enough. Then the fun began. The flight from Phoenix to Charlotte was re-rebooked, then delayed some more, because the incoming plane was a tad late. No biggie so far. But then they started boarding... and stopped. The first class people and those who needed extra time to board were just held at the top of the ramp for like 30 minutes. No explanation, and the gate agents didn't seem to be interested in finding out why we couldn't get on board. Finally after a half hour we get to board. And then sit at the gate with the door closed for another half hour. At that point I was pretty sure I wasn't getting home last night. And I was correct. Landed in Charlotte, sprinted through the terminal to the gate just in time to see my plane to the Casa being pushed back for departure. I called my company's travel agent (this is after midnight) who looked at flight options, and all of them sucked. So she booked me a rental car for a four-hour one way trip to the Casa. But the rental car agency wouldn't let me have the car because I didn't have two forms of photo ID. Actually, in my state of exhaustion, I forgot I DID have a second photo ID -- my passport. But a 4-hour drive getting home at 5 a.m. was probably not the wisest move either. So I called the agency back and she found me a hotel room nearby, and they had a shuttle still running at 1 am to boot! So got the shuttle, got to the hotel and got to bed. When do I get back to the Casa? 7. Tonight. Next flight with open seats leaves at 6. I'm remembering why I avoided that airline for quite a few years. Unfortunately, my favorite airline can't always get me where I want to go when I need to be there. But then neither can this one, even when it has scheduled flights. Meanwhile I got in plenty of airport hiking, at least equal to playing nine holes. Didn't have to lug my suitcase around because I checked it, but that also means I don't have my suitcase now. Website says it is somewhere in the Charlotte airport. I'll see if I can find it this afternoon. Meanwhile I'm going back to sleep. Airline delays have become so common these days. Not sure if it’s because of how connected we are that we hear it more now, or if they have actually just gotten worse and worse. Hope you catch some much needed sleep and rest before the big MDW plans. Byrnzee, EasyPutter, ILMgolfnut and 11 others 14 Quote - TK
