Good Monday morning to you all!

Back in the office today, spousal unit is still not allowed to work until her boss gets a dr note. I kinda wish I was still teleworking, but needed to start showing my face around the office. Had a good weekend and the spousal unit convinced me to continue playing competitively. I found her take very interesting and wonder if her experiences over the past few months have made her look at life differently. I’m sure they have. We found out in March and it’s been a crazy ride. Great medical team though. Now on to the next and finding a long term PCM instead of the base rotation at the base clinic. Wow, got off topic for a second, sorry bout that. No golf planned today, have to take the Dane and a weener dog to the vet for shots. Found a dad joke and had to share:

Luckily it's a three-day week before the holiday, so hoping it goes by fast. If work wasn't so crazy, I would've tried to take the day off so we could keep the golf party going, but alas. Probably for the best that my body gets a bit of a break.

Our friend and her ex took these pics of the supercell that hit us yesterday. It was around 7pm. You could really feel the change in barometric pressure and was surprised we didn’t get a tornado warning. Crazy weather this year for us. Lots of wind.

A wonderful good morning to all on a sunny Monday morning, July 1st, Canada day.  So national holiday and happy Canada day to the people in Canada.  Enjoying my morning coffee sitting on the porch.  Golf later today and hoping its not another 5 hour plus round like yesterday.   Yikes, I hate hurry up and wait golf.  To add insult to injury, my round was crap, but the putter (L.A.B. DF3) was money.  Have a great day.

Good morning Spies,

Uppa with a cuppa. It’s a sunny cool morning in CNY. Had a nice night out with our neighbors at a local brewery. It was a community association event. $15 a person got a selection from the food truck, I had the steak tacos and rice, a cookie and a beer flight. The food was great. Yesterday was a yard day after it poured all day Saturday. Lawn mowed and had to trim the crab apple tree that was trying to overtake the hemlocks.

Not much on tap today. A run for sure. Maybe some range time and putting practice.

Looks like @Byrnzee and @Swood1994 had a great outing at Erin Hills. The video was great. I love the matching Rhobacks.

Good morning Spies! And Happy Canada Day to our spies in the Great White North  (you too, Jamie!).

Did a little sightseeing in Maryland yesterday before going to the airport. Walked around Fort McHenry, which was a decent hike in muggy weather, and took a bunch of photos which I put on my Facebook page, then drove down to Annapolis to check out the Naval Academy. Didn't realize it would be blocked off like any other military installation, but there was a nice view of the campus from the bridge over the Severn River.

Then to the airport. Got seafood there for a late lunch, flight to Atlanta was uneventful, but it looked for a while like my flight back to the Casa would be delayed due to late arriving plane. But they switched us to a plane that was already there and we left on time. Walked in the door at home at 12:28 a.m.

One of my friends who travels a lot for work once told me if it's anything under a five-hour drive, or if it's not a direct flight, you'd be better off driving. I think he's right, and I could have driven the 6.5 hours from the Casa to Baltimore, and then back, a lot faster than the airlines got me there. For instance, if I'd gotten lunch in Baltimore and then left, I would have been home around 7 p.m. instead of after midnight.

Good morning spy's

As some of you are aware I had a dismal June for golf. played in 3 tournaments and faired, in my opinion, poorly.

So I did the unthinkable, took a "full swing" lesson!! 

Well, now I am really f**ked....

Not really but if you want to ruin your life get a PGA pro to videotape your swing, yikes... 

So my miss has been left, I check my divot, it is a nice plump thing and aims right on my intended line, I have tried copious amounts of "I think it is this, or I am going to try that". Nothing worked. 

So in my lesson I am taking my club way too far inside the plane (I didn't know that) then at impact turning my right hand violently, yes violently over top of the club to get the face back to "what I feel" is square..

I  took the lesson on Saturday after my round which I shot 76 with 3 penalty strokes, so not terrible, and I have reached out to my professional to send me the video of my swing so I can show all of you. I will attach it to this thread when he gets back to me... 

So get ready, my journey to the promised land starts today as he has given me "drills" to try and alleviate the pulls and still make solid contact.

Wish me luck as I am really stubborn... yikes...

Good morning everyone!

As @Byrnzee posted, yesterday was nothing short of incredible. He summed it up perfectly and was definitely the group photographer (thank god because I forgot to take photos trying to take it all in). I'll save my more in depth experience post for the how did you play thread but I will say this course is tough! If I could have only gotten off the tee I could've had a career round, but I'll take an 81 from 6800 yards at Erin Hills any day !

Working from Chi-town for most of the day then heading back to Cuse later this afternoon/evening.

Good morning spies! Out with the Wild Bunch this morning and I am running the game. I think it will be 1, 2, 3 again. 3 or 4 player teams. Score 1 net score on par 3s, 2 on par 4s, and 3 on par 5s, The par threes on Coyote are long and everyone hates having to score all players there. 

That will be the last of my golf this week. Heading up into the mountains for the 4th. Small town 4th of July celebrations are just good fun and Show Low Arizona supposedly puts on a good one. Then I am erecting a shed on my RV lot, and will do some kayaking on some local lakes. It is supposed to be cooler up there at 7000 feet. Much better than the 110+ we will see here later this week. 

@Jim Shaw some stuff from my golf habit studies that you already know, but that might help.

• The fact that you did not feel the vicious right hand turn over says the movement has already been habitualized. 
• Habits and conscious thought do not live in the same parts of the brain.
• Strong emotions are the bridge between the two parts. Unfortunately, negative emotions are much stronger than positive emotions.  
• For a while, really enjoy the NOT turning the hand over too hard, and ignore if it does. The habit will go away faster and more permanent that way.

Got my pairings for my first two tournaments in Scotland, both at Royal Dornoch. Tee off Saturday on the Championship Course at 12:50 UK time (7:50 Eastern) with a guy from Royal Dornoch and one from Royal Aberdeen, both around my handicap level. Then Sunday I tee off on the Struie Course at 11:10 UK time. My pairing there is with a guy from Linlithgow, which is in extreme southern Scotland about 200 miles from Dornoch. He is also around my handicap level, which I suspect is how they made the pairings. Saturday is stroke play, Sunday is a Stableford competition.

Then I have another Stableford next Monday at Golspie but no tee sheets there. Tee time is 11:30 though. And a 10:00 start time at Brora on the 13th; that's an event for both women and men.

Saturday and Monday are seniors events, Sunday is men of any age.

Should be an interesting read.   I honestly never thought someone as old school (not a bad thing) as you would rely on video to improve your swing.  Seems like the instructor is going to get into specific positions which doesn’t seem to be your thought process since you talk about “feels”

Good morning all!

I'm actually going to get out to play on the 4th which is long overdue.  

I had the realization that next year might be the first year that a family membership makes sense.  Both boys continue to show interest in playing and if I try to take them out for 18 at any of the local courses it would be $250.  If we stick to the cheapest course around and only play 9 it's not as bad, but I do like to play 18 holes when I can.

I'll have to do some math there and figure it out.

Good morning, Spies!! Happy Monday, or whatever.

Another beautiful morning here with perfect temps and humidity levels that aren't too bad (at least for mid summer anyway). Rain is on the horizon for Th-Sa, which isn't a bad thing at this point. It's been really dry the last month and we could really use some rain. I'd hate for it to ruin golf for the 4th weekend, but I'd also prefer a green lawn to my current patchy brown one. We'll just watch the weather app as the week goes along.

Brown lawns remind me I need to reach out to a few landscapers to schedule some quotes for some work in the back. Plus, I'm missing a valve to allow the irrigation system to function, so I'll need a cost for that too. That'll help the lawn a bit to get a little water every other day or so. Won't help my water bill, but oh well.

Good Monday morning fellow spies!

Well, survived the weekend's AC issues and now have unit replacement scheduled for Wednesday afternoon. So the task is to keep it running until then as we are forecast for 100* days during that time and that does not take heat index into account... 

Looks like @Byrnzee and @Swood1994 had a great weekend and enjoyed playing a beautiful course.

Hopefully I can get out to the course later in the week once I have the AC issue behind me. Our regular Senior Assoc will not be playing due to the holiday, so I'll try to come up with something at a different course maybe.

Happy Canada Day/Fête du Dominion to all those north of the border (and anyone in Windsor, ON, south of Detroit )

The Ford fireworks over the Detroit River were way back last month on the 24th.
Why the fireworks aren't scheduled between Canada Day and 4th of July is always a mystery to me.

Goodmorning everybody! Monday comes in hard and fast. Spent the weekend at the camper so got to relax a little bit. Was hitting some chips in the campsite only 10-20 ft shots with a buddy that stayed with us. Weather was kinda blah with it being mostly cloudy. Tried to get out for a round yesterday afternoon but with the lightning and thunder rolling in we decided to just have a low key day. Big holiday is coming at us and fortunately have the day off on Thursday. Wife has really been feeling terrible with her being almost 40 weeks pregnant so we shall see what’s up for the week as far as getting out there. 
BUT booked 2 tee times for when we’re at Disney in October. Love getting out to play whenever we are down in Florida. Have played a few rounds and it’s nice seeing how different it is than play up in the Northeast. 
Hope everyone’s week starts strong and you can enjoy time with family this holiday!

Good morning, or afternoon as it is here. Late posting today as managed to get out for a round before work and then had a busy day so far. 
On the plus side I played my best ever this morning, gross +3, and have really hit it off with the Cobra irons. My approach game was really good and I hit some lovely shots with the irons. 
I’ll give a more detailed update on the how did you play thread.
