Popular Post MattWillGolf
Good morning Spurs, Uppa with a cuppa. Cuppa number 2 going down. The rains sure worked the sump pump yesterday. Had to stay on alert as the float switch sometimes sticks and the pump doesn’t get triggered. Will get a run in this morning and some golf drills. Not much else on tap today. Maybe watch Oppenheimer tonight. @sirchunksalot sorry to hear about the positive COVID test. While on vacation, one of our friends tested positive a few days after we had dinner with him and his family. So we were on watch. It’s now part of life. Hope you feel better soon. Popular Post fixyurdivot
Top of the pot and a good Saturday morning spies . Watching the conclusion of the women's golf and, barring a big boo-boo from Lydia (and she just made one ), it looks like a horserace for the silver and bronze medals. Those with nothing to lose are going to take chances and it will be interesting down the stretch. Worth repeating here but dang these gals are good! No golf today. A couple of us from our fishing club are meeting another member for breakfast who lost his wife last week . They'd been married 56 years... it just hurts thinking about how that must feel. I'm glad he took us up on meeting for breakfast. We regularly meet for coffee to chat about fishing and life and hopefully continuing to do so will help him. Popular Post JFish350
Good Morning Folks haven't posted on this is a few weeks and I have not gone back thru 20+ pages to get caught up, That will be next week. I hope everyone is healthy and playing golf or doing whatever makes you smile. There are a lot of threads about everything people are doing or other hobbies and interests I get to scrolling thru. Very cool to see/read what others are doing in their lives. For me it's staying the course and trying to get to golf. I am a couple months out yet, but have been cleared to putt. 2-3 more weeks possibly chipping and moving up from there. Popular Post Jim Shaw
good morning spy’s!! well, I am back in Sooke, on the west coast of Vancouver Island. So nice to be home, more room to rattle around. A picture from my deck this morning, our natural form of air conditioning, sea fog, another environmental phenomenon that we had no idea about when we moved here close to 7 years ago. it usually brings the temperature down 5-10 degrees from 10-12 miles toward Victoria. it doesn’t last all day however does keep it cooler which we enjoy. we will watch some olympics this morning, do a quick sweep of the motorhome, then head to the range, I am anxious to get “back in the saddle” after a bit of time off. have a great day everyone!! Popular Post EasyPutter
Good morning MGSpies from the slowest morning I have had in a long time in WNY... ahhh had time to read since posting yesterday and everyone has been busy! You know I am posting late when Bill @fixyurdivot posts before I do and sorry to know Jason @sirchunksalot has the creeping crud that as @EnderinAZ says is picking up around the country, we have one call off for this Tuesday's annual family golf when the Boston contingent comes into town for being COVID positive. Glad to hear it has been quiet for @Northern Monkey and hope the unrest doesn't happen. And past favorite vacations come to mind seeing the sea fog rolling in @Jim Shaw which puts me there as I sip my Colombian coffee Golf happened yesterday on the tail end of tropical storm Debbie related rains that were only just tapering off as I left the house. Only 2 cars parked at the course when I set off with nobody in the clubhouse to acknowledge my online tee time, this was the 1st fairway and the clouds did get lighter with sunglasses necessary by the 5th tee. Had a good round and I'm pleased with how my game is improved from last year especially now the driver is out of my bag. No golf planned for today for jobs around the house now it is drying up outside, hope golf is a part of your day Edited August 10 by EasyPutter readability Preeway, Swood1994, fixyurdivot and 16 others 15 4 Quote Derek Verified Hack, ~21 handicap Golf for exercise and peace of mind. Popular Post EnderinAZ
Good morning spies! So the slow guy decided he would not play with the Wild Bunch. He likes his pace and the ability to be lose with the rules of golf. Neither were compatible with the grumpy old farts I play with. C'est la vie. On my home course the summer Bermuda has fully come in. That means rough that is a 3 inch deep mat that eats balls. I spent way too much time in it and scored accordingly. Popular Post Wheelieb
Morning All, Woke up mad at my alarm going off cause it’s a Saturday and it’s the drill weekend. I’d have been asleep for at least another hour before I got up normally. Got into work and printed out what I needed to and talked to who I had to. I am now home and getting ready to help the wife build a shed that will probably be the chicken coop that we can lock them up in at night instead of having to bring them in to the garage. That means we will have more space in the garage again. Then I may or may not put the fence posts into the ground today. Depends on when we get done with the shed. May just mark where to put them and do that tomorrow. Hope everyone has a great day. They had to move them from the back 9 to the front in case the bridge got washed out. They had no choice. The maintenance building is on the back nine. The front nine has higher elevation so if anything they could possibly open the front nine as long as the equipment was accessible. PS: We were supposed to have crews come in and strip and rebuild our two bridges this week. That’s how bad the bridges are. We had to push the crew out a week until the water level drops. Popular Post RichL85
There were 9 people in the house when I went to bed, and 4 this morning when I woke up. It's oddly very quiet all of a sudden. MIL is driving back to Arizona to deal with some things with her brother, and my BIL and his kids are flying back home, so it's just us. It's a strange adjustment, but I enjoy the quiet more than the chaos. Next week looks like it's going to be busy for me already, so this weekend will probably be trying to get things as prepared as possible, not to mention returning the house to somewhat normal condition now that the extra 3 kids are headed home. Popular Post BIG STU
Well today was a decent day for us. The wife and I went up and played the little Par3. The way that little course is designed it drains well. CPO is not ever an issue because it is walking only any way any time. You could tell I had not played much last week and had not hit the Hickory stuff in like 3 weeks. One has to be dead on it to play the Hickory stuff. I did ok really putted well and their greens were still pristine and running well. Now my wife does not play Hickory but plays her Modern stuff hitting her little Warrior 5 wood off the tee. She darn near had a HIO on the 2nd hole she hit it off the tee and it ran there and lipped out and then hung over the hole. Even though the hole was only 90 yards I told her to take her time walking up there the ocean wind might blow it in. But it was her first birdie ever there. Actually at that point she was -1 for 2 holes having hit the green on #1 and 2 putting. At that point she was kicking my butt because I was +1 having jerked my tee shot left and making bogey. Of course as Stu SOP I came back from the dead and rattled off a birdie on #5 and #7. Ended up +1 on that side. Played the back even par 27. Really not too bad not hitting the Hickory stuff in 3 weeks. I did miss quite a few greens but chipped so so but putted very well. We did take our time because the sun came out and man was it hot and humid. Had us a nice lunch at a local place on the way home called Hamburger Joe's. Now home watching the Wyndam and as usual pecking on the keyboard fixyurdivot, Northern Monkey, MattWillGolf and 11 others 12 2 Quote Driver ---- Callaway Big Bertha Alpha Speeder 565 R flex- - 7W TM V-Steel UST Pro Force Gold 65R---- Irons 5 thru PW 1980 Macgregor VIP Hogan Apex steel shafts--- SW -- Cleveland 588 56* S-400 Sensicore --- LW Vokey 58* SM5 L grind--- Putter 1997 Scotty Cameron Santa Fe Fluted Bulls Eye shaft--- Bag TM Flex Lite Stand---- Yeah I know only 11 clubs G

Popular Post William P
3 hours ago, BIG STU said: Well today was a decent day for us. Now home watching the Wyndam and as usual pecking on the keyboard Hamburger Joe's is a favorite lunch venue! Ate there three times during my last visit in May. Popular Post sirchunksalot
I appreciate all the well wishes for the wife and I! Hopefully we'll be over it soon and back to normal. She's worried since the last time we got it she had issues with her blood sugar and heart and is scared all the progress she's made in her health will regress to where it was.
