Another Proud Papa Moment

It's been a very busy week for me, so just getting around to posting this....

Our youngest daughter graduated with her Master's degree last weekend. The insane thing to me was she was able to get her Bachelor's in 3 years and only took an additional year for her Master's, which she accomplished while working part time and playing club volleyball. She's a hard worker and a bright girl. Her degree is an MPA and her focus was urban development/planning, if I recall correctly. No real job prospects right now, but she waits tables at a decent restaurant and makes a livable amount of money, especially if she starts picking up more shifts. The perfect job will come.

With that, our tuition payments are done. We were able to get both daughters through debt-free, which was our goal. Now I feel like I need to join a fancy country club with our newly-available disposable income. Would be nice, but we have a couple remodeling projects in mind that will take priority over my golf.

Congratulations to your daughter and you!

My daughter’s story is similar. She worked part time while going to school and during the summers she worked two jobs. It took her two years to get her Master’s, but during that time she had two kids and trained for and ran three 10Ks and a half marathon.

We also got her out of school debt free. A great feeling for both of us.

Congrats proud dad! I've heard too many stories of kids taking 5 years to get a Bachelors, so it great to hear a story about an industrious student not only doing it in 3 but the Masters in the additional  1.  That by the way should make it to her resume since it's a great indicator of her commitment.

Our kids ended up in the same boat - no college loan debt to hang over there heads. We also started a 529 for our only grandson.

wow! that is amazing Max. Big time congrats. I've got one starting and one will be in a couple years. To be able to help them achieve their degrees and come out debt-free is remarkable.

Congrats to your daughter.    It is a great feeling that we were also able to get out daughter through college debt free.     I am sure there will be something that comes up in the future that will take away that newly available disposable income 😂

We are looking at a kitchen remodel and a bunch of landscaping/hardscaping, both of which are due.
