While the score doesn't reflect it, the round was really pretty good today.  Alignment seems to be the issue this week but it is getting better.  Really digging my new sticks Callaway Rogue ST pros.  One of these days I will be able to divine a way to eliminate silly errors and then I will be more content with the regular "non stupid" mistakes... Like pulling 3 wood to avoid trouble rather than driver, blister a great tee shot only to discover my aim point was too close to the right tree line and while I was close to making a "woody" my putt for par lipped out.  Even on the Par 5's, +7 on the par 4's and 1 over on the par 3's.  Until the next time

Well, I hit it very inconsistent, I feel really close to a great round. 2 Birdies on the card though. Could have been much better but I broke 80 without my best stuff. I'm counting that as a WIN!

Need to get rid of doubles. Had 4 doubles this round and mainly due to approach shots.

30 putts with I would say 6 true birdie chances. Two 3 putts and that is on me. Just not thinking or reading the greens properly. 

Had some great drives! Going to tweek the g430 i think just a little off the flat setting.

Made back to back birdies on holes 15 and 16! Fun round and the last one for a few weeks!

Started with 6 straight bogeys.  Couldn’t hit a green and didn’t chip well.  Settled in and played 7-16 level with 2 natural birdies and finished double bogey, bogey for 9 over.  Gotta do better.  Had 28 putts and with that few putts I should be 75 or better.

Approach shots were my biggest struggle this round. So many times I had just a wedge in but FOGL kicked in and I just could not get the ball close. Putting was also a big miss (36 putts). Looking forward to practicing and the new TA III wedges, maybe they will help haha. Best part of the day was my tee shot on hole 9. 547-yard par 5 I smoked my tee shot down the middle and had only 187 with an 8 iron in. I did hit the 8 iron a little too well and landed off the back. However, the tee shot was my favorite part. Great round and looking forward to playing more now that work is calming down.

I put the Callaway Paradym X irons back in the bag, hit them OK, but didn't really score well today.  After aerating a week and a half ago, they have been out rolling the greens.  Unfortunately, we were behind him (faster greens), caught up and passed him (slower greens).  So the inconsistency played a role in today's putts.  I only had 27 (with an unusual three putt due to a very tricky pin placement) which should have been 24.  

I'm still having an issue holding greens with the Paradym X's.  On two of our four par three holes, I hit the front of the green in regulation and the ball rolled all the way into the back traps.  

I'll be back at it on Saturday in hopes of getting my act together and playing a decent round.

Started on hole 10. Played silver tees(6023 yds). Disappointing round. After starting with a birdie, reality set in. Greens are generally larger with plenty of slope and contours-had five 3 putts! Not able get it to the hole on the uphill putts!

Legacy Hills is my favorite course hete at Sun City. Traditional course that fits my eye perfectly. Horses for courses! Hit it great today. The Callaway Paradym TD driver and Callaway Paradym irons were absolutely on fire! It was hot out 97 with humidity that the weather channel said felt like 112. The iron faces were hot to the touch and the ball screamed off the face! Great day!

Unable to get a good start the past several rounds.  My drive on #1 was 91 out from 1st cut.  I hit a 56 into left bunker, 10 yards left of my target.  Skulled the bunker shot over the green into a hazard and made 7.  Bogeyed the 2nd from 155 out and the settled down.  Shot even the rest of the 9   Made 3 natural birdies but had one triple and one double.  Frustrating to say the least as the bad holes are coming with easy approach shots that I yank or push into trouble.  I need to keep it in perspective though, this is not my day job.

Have been studying the 2023 “irons” reviews.  After some soul searching I realized that my game is deteriorating ( I’m 74) and I was leaning towards “game improvement” irons.  Well guess what I had in my basement?  A set of Mizuno MX 100, game improvement, Irons.  I put them into my bag and shot a respectable 86 today.  One of my better scores this season.  Not bad for 5 year old clubs!

Some very amateur yips kept this from being a very low score. 3/6 fw, 2 of the misses were just off. 6/18 gir 4 others were on the fringe. Putting was average in terms of 33 putts for the round, but 3 putted 4 times and holed out 6 from 5' or longer. The 3 putts all followed perfect iron shots, effectively turning birdie to bogey over and over.

Your comments about the yips make me wonder... did you make the one with your foot in the picture???

Yes, one handed no less.

The 2 primary yip moments were on hole #1 220y drive exactly where I wanted to go, 9i came up 10y short. My chip was more of a "muck" 8 feet forward leaving the same shot essentially. On #17 I had an 18' birdie putt, caught the ground on my backstroke and executed the worst putting stroke of my life, going past the hole by 15'.

thanks.  Played from the blacks (not the tips) 6100 plus, usually whites,  but slope and ratings are much higher than most at that distance.  My Irons and chipping were very good(for me)
