I'm usually a lower spin player, and while I'm definitely getting more neutral than in the past and playing the ProV1x RCT, I was seeing 6 irons with a slightly closed face-to-path ratio still spinning over 6000 RPM yesterday. Not sure if that's the Matzilla vs FlightDeck or just the latest firmware of the Mevo+.

I think it can have a lot to do with the mat.  I know at the range, they have super plush mats and I get a ton of spin off of them compared to hitting off the turf.

Cody great questions. CS never said anything about the metal walls of the building and I definitely mentioned it when he asked about my setup.  His biggest thing was distance from ball to screen.  13’ seems like a strange number for an indoor maximum to me.  I’m gonna shorten my cage to 7 foot at some point to see what happens. I don’t think it’s a building issue as the regular Mevo was pretty close in the same building but at 10 foot ball to net. 
 

As for the matzilla the jury is still out. I’m noticing a lot more fat shots with my long irons. Could just be my indoor swing but it’s definitely not a problem at my local winter league. It isn’t harsh on the joints with those shots though which is nice.
 

Did you notice the spin increase when you switched mats?  Wondering if that’s my distance issue. Spin seems a little high but not sure.

I have Definitly seen spin to be the most accurate I think for most readings for me. Distance is good but would agree conservative is a good word for it but not egregiously off.

i am not hitting off a mat either, its a small carpet square that’s protecting the grass but i feel like its very close to the ground and doesn’t give, it gives what the ground gives since its so thin so maybe that has something to do with it.

Check out the Mistwood Golf Dome in Bolingbrook. I'm not sure if toptracer would interfere with any testing of your own, but its indoors at least!

Yeah, I've been using the Matzilla this year and that's when I started seeing the spin issues. Next time out I'll try the FlightDeck again. I probably should also get a fresh RCT as I tend to literally wear the dimples off them before switching. 

For what it's worth, I have roughly 13' of flight and 8' ball to Mevo+. It sits on the concrete below the level of my Matzilla.

FS CS told me to sit the Mevo plus on the ground and adjust to the mat height via the settings instead of sitting the Mevo on something. Not sure why it matters as long as you adjust the hitting area every time.

That was my understanding as well. Either the Mevo+ needs to be level with the hitting surface with no valley between, or it needs to be on the ground with the mat height set in the settings (which for me persists across sessions in the app).

I've always wondered about the mat height setting - one of the other things I find unique to the Mevo+ is that my AoA with irons is more steep than it is reported on other monitors. I assume the mat height has something to do with that calculation.

Figured out the putting for the simulator.  I think I am going to find a way to make it the same level as the hitting surface though because you are limited in space for putting.  

I was able to move the ball closer to the Mevo+ (about a foot) and it instantly read the putt.

Can we do it in the garage if it’s going to stay cold lol. If it gets warm I’ll open up the tent butttt I would love to be inside if possible lol

Works for me, might “irons only” since even I’m a little sketched out with the driver in there, but it can work.

up to the 5-wood is good for me there, so you'd probably be good up through your driving iron.

I can bring up the space heater too from the basement.

I haven't seen any issues with longer clubs with the Mevo. The distances seem to be spot on for what swings I put on the ball. Granted, I'm a lower swing speed player than the other testers in the group, so that might have some bearing on the results.

I've had some larger discrepancies between the Mevo and the Trackman for longer clubs (longer irons, woods, driver) for the indoor simulator. When hitting with the Mevo outside however, the data seemed to be more in line with expectations

I have tested a few things on the net with the E6 and plan on getting out this evening to test the actual Mevo app to test some distances vs what I have seen at the range.

I've got some ideas, maybe not live steam, but certainly showing off our "winter" swings with both simulator results side-by-side

will be funny when we get some different reading and one approach shot is different than the next... or maybe they will be close?  I guess it depends on how well each unit does without it's special ball.

I have only been going up to my driving iron since I am not comfortable with the current height of the tent.

i did not notice discrepancies in distance or spin really. Nothing noteworthy anyway.

Driver for me tonight when compared to the full swing simulator I was in for league was 10-15 yards difference. Irons were really close.  Ball flight was the biggest issue for me for driver. Everything was straight or draw on the full swing and straight to fade/push fade.

That's very interesting that you're seeing a difference like that. I would be curious to hear was customer support would say? Or maybe they would encourage checking the setup like was mentioned in previous posts.

Update on backyard setup and numbers.

I'll add some photos when I get back to my tablet this afternoon but here is what I have found out.  

Set-up is absolutely crucial with the Mevo+.  I realized this morning that I had left it on outdoor mode and not limited flight mode.  This made an automatic change in the numbers I was seeing.  I have not tested long irons yet with this change but through 7 Iron we were back to my normal numbers. (minus the mishits)

I watched a few videos last night on accuracy with the Mevo+ and everyone has said that they are highly accurate but that the RCT Balls work the best.  

@GolfSpy_BNG, for the driver, what I saw most was launch angle.  If the angle is below 9, people were having really weird readings and almost identical to what you said in an earlier post about it being a fade instead of a draw.  May look at your launch angle numbers to confirm.

Seems to be a common trend amongst the Flightscope devices. Excited to see how the right setup helps get everything dialed for you!
