Going along nicely until the turn then the wheels fell off, 22 putts on the back 9, couple of penalties from wayward shots. But the sun was shining and no wind, what else can you ask for in February in Scotland.

My work is paying off. I credit my deWiz swing modifier for much of this. My longest drive last season was ~200.

Good round, but couldn't score - had either 4 or 5 birdie looks and didn't convert any of them - putting like Scottie S.!

Hit 10 fairways and 13 greens with 32 putts. Had 1 double and 1 bogie. Even par is never bad. However, when you have three eagle putts inside 15 feet and make none it hurts. Also had a shot from 146 hit the stick and sit in the lip at about 3 inches. Ouch could have been a great round. I had the new PXG putter in the bag and I am going back to the Odyssey AI.

Thanks but there are a lot of high 70 and low 80 rounds. But basically my game is very few mistakes and hitting 13 greens and at least 2 or 3 par 5’s in two. So that sets up the day!

Not a bad day. No birdies and no huge blow-ups either. Seven fairways missed and seven found. I’m satisfied. But not really.

What?  February golf in Iowa?  You betcha!   Course opened yesterday, 70 degrees and busy.  Grabbed my membership for the year and headed out with some friends.  Of course the low temp tonight is in the single digits so we are back to normal for a few days, until this weekend when it spikes again and I hope to head south to play with my son.  As far as the round goes...pretty average.  Greens had not been mowed yet, pretty furry, you could almost read shoe types the greens were that soft.  Not consistent, but I was not complaining.  Had a couple of birdie tries but came up empty.  64% of fairways hit....GIR wasn't good 44%.  got up and down a couple times.

Played with a sore back on a golf course I don’t know all the site lines. Many blind shots. Shots are struck well and look good in flight end up in a bad position. Several times a well struck shot cost me. Looking forward to Thursday and back at Sun City!

I knew today was going to be special when I got in my car, turned on the radio and up popped Lou Reed's Introduction/Sweet Jane came on!  That's my favorite Lou Reed song.  Throw in 70 degrees, not a cloud in the sky and just a whisper of wind and it was perfect.

The front nine was very pedestrian shooting 43 (eight over par).  Not my best start.  I was still optimistic when I hit the tenth hole.  Low and behold, I was right.  Today was going to be special.  I shot one over par for the back (36) with two bogeys, one birdie and the rest pars.  I think it's the best I ever shot on the back.

image.png.fee9103078b8c7a1ada526a68e1cd2bd.png

My fairways in regulation were around my average at just under 80%.  The greens in regulation was a little higher than usual (hit three).  What made today special was my short game and putting.  I had six up and downs for pars and five up and downs for bogeys.  The 24 putts included a 0 putt birdie.

Sorry I don't have any shot data to share.  I forgot to charge my Shot Scope H4 from Sunday's charity event.  Today would have skewed my recent numbers.

Finally, I'm not sure if it's MGS karma, but today is the first round that I played with my new personalized Maxfli Tour S golf balls.

Maybe it was Lexi representing Maxfli last night in The Match!  For today, I'm betting it was the MGS magic touch!

Fully agree! Made the turn only three over and at that point only one real mistake. Trouble found me on the back. Twice it was because I was greedy and should have been more conservative. Didn’t pull off either attempt. Another two were perfect shots that just were on the wrong line (which I didn’t know). Ouch! I do not seem to learn how to play this course!

So many dog leg holes and odd distances to know.  You can cut the corners on some but it's high risk.

Beautiful day in southeast Michigan and I couldn't get out of work early to get to a course.
The sim course was waiting though.

Had a great front 9 minus the first 2 holes.  Went Bogey Bogey on 1 and 2 and then 2 birdies and the 3rd should have dropped but had poa 2in in front of the cup that kicked it right by an inch. Had one more birdie on 8.  Back 9 was a little different with 4 bogies with 2 of them just dumb mistakes.

Happy with the game and we are getting close to having a standout round.  I'm breaking 70 this year.

This was the 1st birdie of the day.  Par 3 176 yds 7 iron and the ball landed 1ft left of the pin.  Just about slammed it.

Thanks. I feel like my game is finally getting back to where I used to be!  Driver is finally getting more consistent and iron play has been great. I may go play Twin Creeks Friday if things fall in to place and can't wait to putt on good greens.

Today's forecast - Windy AF! Basically, I had today and maybe Sunday as my only available days to play this week so I decided to brave the wind. You know, just a normal breezy day in OK where the winds are a steady 25mph 🤣

I'll say today had the potential to be a spectacular round but the wind was hard to manage as usual. It was still a great round though. I was averaging around 310 total distance on drives that were not wind aided or handicapped which is good for me. I had some bombs that I took some risks on but in the end it was the easy swing on 17 that got my long drive (ever, I think).

Like I said, steady 25 mph winds out of the West most of the round. There was a calm once I got to the back nine until 17. . . I'm on the tee box setting up for my drive. Start the back swing. Almost fell over trying to stop myself as the cold front came in form the North. I could barely stand but once I got my footing I swung as hard as I could and hoped it stayed straight. Not sure if I caught some cart path too but I ended up finding myself in the greenside bunker - golf's equivalent to a mile down the field. Of course, I haven't been practicing bunker shots so it came out a bit hot and left me a long putt that I missed. Still saved par but man the last 2 holes were wild. The whole round really. I'll post my #5 shots too just to show how much distance the wind was adding. I cannot - nor should I ever -  hit my 9i 175 yds by the way but this was the conditions I had to work with today 🤣 As for when the wind wasn't my friend. . . My shortest drive today was 225 yds total and it was smashed. The wind said gtfo on that hole.

Thank you! I might be able to compete with @Javs drive this week. He's been smashing it though and doesn't use the wind as a crutch though. Assuming he's got some wind coming this week too though so we'll see.

With only one triple on the card, it was a pretty stress free round. I began with 3 bogeys then par, birdie, par on some technical holes. The back 9 seemed like cruising. Bogeys here and there but mostly pars (net birdies). I had no idea what I shot till the end when my partner said the scores. I got him by 1. Buwhahaha!
