Popular Post skraeling
A disappointing league round yesterday. Shot a 52. One of my worst of the past year pretty much. Between allergies, having slept like poo, and just not feeling comfortable over the ball the entire round. I just had to fight through it. Oh throw in a 30mph gusting breeze at 100ft and I had balls that start on target and just got blown all over. Nothing like an entire day of tap in third putts. urg. Driver was just.... a liability for me this round. Im ready for spring to be over already. Also that first hole man alive was I so not warmed up at all. Jacob10
I was able to get out for 9 after work on Friday (4/26) and Monday (4/29). I am still playing without a driver, but it is not needed most places I play. Shot an even par 36 on Friday with 14 putts, including a sloppy 3-putt on the 8th. Good ball striking in the stiff wind and solid putting results in good scores. Monday was a very solid ball-striking day with strong winds, but I only managed 1 up and down and none over the final 5 holes with two 3-putts. These greens are very different from my home course, but they shouldn’t be that hard to figure out. On a bright note, I was able to bring my 6 year old daughter to the course with me to let her get some swings in. Hopefully she’ll get the desire to play so I will have a partner and help relieve my wife some from having 3 kids alone while I play. I’m just thankful to be able to play, spend time with my daughter, and play mostly good golf, for my standards. You simply observe what is happening during the round. As the day progresses and the weather conditions change greens will change. Based on whether the ball is going farther or shorter you make adjustments. Even with significant green speed changes you won’t go from on green that will be 4 feet short and the exact same putt be 4 feet past on a different green. Basically it is just observation and adjusting your stroke; There really isn’t anything definitive on this is what you should do. cksurfdude, sirchunksalot and Rob Person 3 Quote Driver: G400 Max 9* w/ KBS Tour Driven Fairway: XCG7 Beta 15* w/Fujikura Fuel Hybrids: 915H 21* w/KBS Tour Graphite Hybrid Prototype 915H 24* w/KBS Tour Graphite Hybrid Prototype Irons: TR20V 6-11 w/Vizard TR20-85 Graphite Wedge: 54/12D, 60/8M w/Accra iWedge 90 Graphite Putter: Sacks Parente MC 3 Stripe Backup Putters: Milled Collection RSX 2, mFGP2, Futura 5W, TM-180 Member: MGS Hitsquad since 2017

Popular Post bens197
Played quickly this am with two random as a single. Sometimes you get lucky. One played to about an 8 and the other was best guess a 12-14. If they lost one they didn’t spend a millennium searching and just said oh well let’s keep going. I don’t know what I did deserve this but it was a real pleasure. They also listened to music (asking me if I cared what genre to which I replied I’ll play to anything) and had a wonderful 90’s mix of alternative, hip hop and country. Shot 78. 13 greens. Popular Post jpostema
I was lucky enough to spend the week at Pebble Beach last week and played Spyglass, Pebble Beach, and Spanish Bay. The experience was absolutely incredible! My dad and I had high expectations going into the week, but Pebble blew our expectations out of the water. The weather was great (mid-50s to low 60s) but windy at times. The wind helped with the overall experience and showed us how challenging these courses really are. I played my best at Pebble with birdies on 3, 4, 13, and 14. The birdie putt on 14 is something I'll never forget. I was in the bunker in front of the green after my 2nd shot and chipped out to the back of the green. I had a 30-foot putt with the green breaking left to right (toward the ocean) but a strong right-to-left wind coming off the ocean. The caddie (Mike, more on him below) gave me the line, and I hit it perfectly. The crazy part of the putt was the last 4-5 feet; we could see wobbling back and forth as the green wanted it to break one way, but the wind wanted it to break another. We saw this putt break in different directions 4x before it ended up in the center of the cup. Everyone erupted when that putt went in! It's a golf shot I'll never forget! I owe it all to our caddie, Mike. He's been at Pebble for 30+ years and made the experience so great! He went above and beyond just giving us shot/club recommendations and reading the green. He stopped to take pictures of my dad and I over the ocean more times than I can count. He had a great sense of humor, too. If you ever get the chance to play Pebble, you need to request Mike. He is probably in his late 60s to early 70s and knows the course like the back of his hand. I have a video below of my tee shot on 18. The wind was so strong off the ocean that we had to aim 10-15 yards OVER THE OCEAN and let the wind bring it back into the fairway. Thank you, Pebble Beach, for the incredible week! It was a trip I'll remember for the rest of my life. 18 Tee Shot.mov Edited May 2 by jpostema MattF, sirchunksalot, ejgaudette and 8 others 4 6 1 Quote In the bag: Driver: TaylorMade Stealth 2 9° Head - Mitsubishi Tensei AV-XLINK White X 65 Shaft Fairway: TaylorMade Stealth 2 5 Wood - Mitsubishi Kai'li Blue 70X Shaft Irons: Mizuno Pro 245 Irons 5-PW - Modus 115 X Wedges: Vokey SM9 50°, 54° & 58° Putter: Bettinari BB40 Bag: Callaway Apex Staff Bag or Mizuno BR-D3 when I'm walking Balls: Bridgestone Tour B X - Testing TaylorMade TP5X

Popular Post sirchunksalot
Played nine holes after work with some friends at Brained Golf Course in Chattanooga. It's a beautiful Donald Ross design course that I think has been around since the 30's. The greens are not tricked out, but they are slick and make putting a chore. I shot 52 hitting 3 fairways, 2 greens, and having 18 putts. All facets of my game were decent with nothing really standing out. I had a couple of blow up holes, one of which was the par 4 7th which is a short hole of only 300 yards but it's well protected in the front with bunkers. It also has a tee box on the left hand side and a fairway that opens up to the right to lure you into it's trap. The right side is guarded by a tall rock wall that makes hitting the narrow part of the green difficult. I hit a drive down the pipe, leaving around 77 in. I bladed a wedge over the green into the woods and had to chop out and chip a second time. My shot and hole of the day came on the 8th. It's a par 5 that they had moved the tee box up due to construction of new boxes and had it playing as a 260 yard par 4. I hit a good drive and had about 60 yards left into the green. I hit my second shot a good distance, but left into a bunker. I hit the ball out and went to 14 feet from the hole. I sank the putt for a par, which as best as I can recall is my first sand save. Maybe I can sometimes, occasionally, every once in a while play out of the sand. Popular Post Paul Hedrick
I had a surprisingly good round of golf yesterday. Due to various reasons, I have not been able to play in two months, so I was anticipating a very ugly round. However, it was not that bad. The new fitted driver my wife gave me for Christmas performed outstanding. Since I had only played a few times, I was curious how that would go. I was consistently getting 20, or more, yards from it than my previous driver. (I am kicking myself for NOT getting fit for a driver years ago.). Arccos performed perfectly, and my putting was acceptable as well. Oh, and the weather was great. The problem areas were the clubs between putter and driver! I lived in Chattanooga for a couple of years and walked this course and Brown Acres many times. Those greens are hard and need a perfectly stuck iron shot to hold. Both courses are easy to get off the rails quick, but they are fair. They were in the process of converting the greens at Brown Acres to bermuda when I moved. I would like to go back and see how it plays with different greens. Rob Person
@Josh Parker. That bunker is intimidating! Any bunker that requires a stairwell should most definitely be avoided! cksurfdude, Northern Monkey, Michael.Sandoval33 and 1 other 2 2 Quote WITB-Foremost 551's - 3w, 5w, 5-SW (circa 1998), Top Flite 460cc Driver, Adam's 7w, Warrior GW and 60⁰, Odyssey AI-One DB putter.
