Congrats to the testing team. Really intrigued to see how the online self fitting compares to the live fitting. I’m assuming that the fitter won’t know what your online fitting results were prior to handing over their results

Congrats testers, I bought a 50-degree SM9 last year.  First round with "Reggie" I holed out from the fairway.  I wish everyone the best and at least one hole out during testing!

Maybe check out the FAQs for becoming a tester that the Forum leaders have put together. It might be helpful.

First and basic thing we require of any tester is a profile photo. Doesn't have to be of you, but a photo. Then get active with the community. I say this in the article I linked above, but these are not contests to be won. Members who are active and engaged in our community are chosen.

Very curious of how different my online fitting vs my google idea fitting vs actually fitting is going to be.

again if anyone has any questions or things they want tested let me know!! Gonna be summer soon so no more teaching so I can grind away with these

That is exactly what I am interested in.  I'm hoping to get fitted with one of the main guys who developed the Titleist Custom fitting process.  He runs his fitting and range center out of OKC. So fingers crossed!

Thanks everyone for the congratulations! I’m very excited to test out the SM10s. Fun fact: I have never hit a vokey wedge. I’m ecstatic about the opportunity to test them out AND go through the Titleist fitting process. I’ll document it all.

Happy for a fellow Okie to be apart of the test! We should play a round this summer while you’re testing!

I feel like I have done a good job in google fitting myself. I was fit for a TSR2 but decided to change it up this year and have been pounding my new Mizuno driver. But I do understand the spin and flight of wedges is more important.

Firstly, a huge shoutout to both MyGolfSpy and Titleist for this incredible opportunity. As someone who's always been loyal to Vokey wedges (with a brief fling with Cleveland), I'm beyond excited to dive into the world of SM10s.

Hey there, I'm Corbyn, residing in rural Nova Scotia, Canada, with my wife and newborn and dog named Hogan. Golf isn't just a hobby for us; it's part of our story. Our first date was actually a round of golf, where I managed to fire a smooth 87, my “best round ever” and then next summer we got married on the course. As a teacher, I'm fortunate to have summers off, dedicating ample time to perfecting my game both on the course and in our backyard chipping and putting area.  Love travelling to play all types of courses. Last summer was able to get to Cabot and play both the links and cliffs, followed by a trip to the Carolinas to play. Tobaccao and Pine Needles, Southern Pines. IMG_0590.JPEG.bebe9ba22ac7b7d062d4951a8798b8fa.JPEG

IMG_0569.JPEG.51cbdcbc4bb3ee1c0f342648abefb3e5.JPEG

My current course is Clare Golf and Country Club, nestled in the picturesque landscapes of NS. While it might not boast the length of some courses, its small greens present a formidable challenge every time I play. Was able to shoot par there last summer 71.  It was also the spot of my wedding. The par 3 we got married on was playing long that day as it was all carry.

IMG_1005.jpg.5ac7db23af8883d5ce498382c93883bb.jpg

Now, onto the gear, as true golf equipment junkie. My bag's a bit of a mixed affair, built through a mix of research and gut feeling. I've got a Mizuno driver, Titleist 3 wood, Callaway Legacy Black irons KBS $ taper x flex  and, of course, my trusty Titleist Vokey SM8 wedges in 52, 56, and 60 degrees, all wedges with KBS hi rev shafts. Each wedge's flex varies – the 52 and 56 are extra stiff, while the 60 is stiff.

It's been a journey of dedication and hard work, but seeing those numbers drop has been incredibly rewarding. I've been focusing a lot on mastering my tempo, striving to become a full-time member of "Tempo Town." Alongside that, I've dedicated significant time to honing my short game, especially those delicate shots around the green.

Testing Wishlist for the New Titleist SM10 Wedges

1) The fitting experience. Seeing how it will compare to my online fitting from titliest to my own fitting(Me thinking I know what I need) to actually getting fit.

2) Spin Control: Assess the spin rates of the SM10 wedges compared to my current Vokey SM8 wedges.

3) Feel and Feedback: Evaluate the overall feel and feedback on different types of shots, from full swings to delicate pitches.

4) Consistency: Test the consistency of distance and trajectory on both full shots and finesse shots around the green.

5) Versatility: Experiment with various shot types, including bunker shots, flop shots, and low runners, to gauge the versatility of the SM10 wedges.

6) Grind Options: Explore the available grind options to determine which best suits my playing style and course conditions.

7) Durability: Assess the durability of the wedges over multiple rounds of play to ensure long-lasting performance.

8.  Aesthetics: Evaluate the visual appeal of the SM10 wedges at address and in the bag. As I plan on getting raw finish.

9) Customization: Explore customization options such as shafts, grips, and stamping to personalize the wedges to my preferences.

10) Comparative Testing: Conduct side-by-side comparisons with my current Vokey SM8 wedges to identify any noticeable

differences in performance.

Experience Using the Titliest Wedge Selector on their Website:

First off, let's talk about how easy it is to use. I'm not someone who is tech whiz, but the interface of the Wedge Selector is so easy that I had no trouble navigating through it. Inputting my playing conditions, divot pattern, fairway conditions and bunker conditions, and skill level was a breeze, and within moments, I had personalized recommendations tailored specifically to my game. As someone who thinks of  themselves as a gear geek, these types of club selectors are important.

ScreenShot2024-05-12at1_39_45PM.png.0ade816a8651c1247caa42732627d55a.png

Now with these recommendations I build the wedges on the site.  Selecting the shafts and grips that I want. I am curious when I do the actual fitting if I fit into these specs or not.  I went with the KBS as I have KBS in my irons and wedges already so I figured they were right for me.

ScreenShot2024-05-12at1_59_39PM.png.b108131d874921e79f2940d7171216f1.png

Next Step is the actually fitting.

Bump my intro, testing plan. If anyone has questions let me know

There's a lot to it! Check out videos on Vokey's website. You'll find lots of info about grinds, bounce, shafts, the SM10 improvements, and more. I'm really curious to see what the fitter recommends and how it fits my game.

@Rob Person You and me both brother. I will be passing along what knowledge I gain and hopefully this helps you out.

UPDATE: I have an in-person fitting with a regional Titleist fitter at a club about 15-20 minutes away from me. Super nice guy on the phone.

BTW, for those wondering about Titleist fitting scheduling; there are 3 types

  1. Online Wedge Selector Tool on Vokey.com - this is a fabulous tool! Pro-tip - be honest with the responses and make sure if you don't know something just select I don't know or neutral. You WILL get different results even if you are slightly off. The tool is that specific.
  2. Fitting partners (Premier or Standard); Golf Galaxy stores, some pro shops - This means that if you go into the store there will be someone there who is trained to use the Titleist software and their launch monitor to get data on your swing stats and tendencies. This is how most folks go, and truth be told Bob Vokey himself and the team at Titleist have put a lot of effort into validating the software to get accurate results. So far they say its spot on.
  3. Certified Titleist Fitter in-person; usually at a range or GC - There are trained regional Titleist employed fitters who travel around to clubs doing demos, fittings, etc. I opted for this fitting and will report my experience and findings as I go.

For reference here is what the online Wedge Selector Tool put me in.
