About 15 miles to the west of my location at the airport is a weather station outside Benton City.  Here is the weather map info.  Notice the winds in the circled area.

Here is a picture outside the door of my wife's business located at the Richland airport looking in the direction of that weather station.  It's located on the mountain in the background, but you can't see it for the blowing dust!!  Other than that, it's a sunny day!

We had winds all across Washington yesterday; many areas with gusts in excess of 100 mph.  This is not like a tornado in the midwest.  We had these winds ALL DAY LONG!  Hundreds of thousands of people lost power; 3 dead.

 

As you can see from the weather map above, it rained hard in Seattle and Portland along with the wind.  Lots of flooding.  You can also see why we don't get much rain or snow where I live.  While the rain comes from the coast (usually), we never got a drop yesterday.  The Cascade Mountains stops most of it.  We only get about 7 inches of rain a year, and we are short of normal this year; only 4.05 inches so far.  It's a desert except for the irrigation.

 

This is what collects in my backyard after a windstorm.

100 mph gusts that is more than the last 2 hurricanes we have had. Man I used to hate tumble weeds when I was trucking out West they would blow under the truck. Had a friend of mine who lost his truck due to a tumble weed getting under it and catching fire of course it was partially his fault because he always had numerous fuel and oil leaks in fact in the past he had gotten several tickets in California for that.

Wow! The ball probably wouldn't stay on the green if you actually did manage to get it there! Better hope the hole location is always on the downwind side of the green, then maybe the hole could catch the ball as it rolled off the green.

Kenny, that photo of the tumbleweeds looks like scenes from around where I live. In fact you could have taken it here in my town and I'd have believed you. We normally don't get much rain here either. Our historical average is around 13"-15". I know that may seem like a lot compared to where you live but this year we've had a ton. So far this year I've measured right at 24" at my house. The golf course where I play has never looked better.

2:30 Vision appointment, annual eye exams

 

If I were still working, I would have had to go through my 5-year reinvestigation for my clearance this last September.  I wonder if you guys count as "contacts"??

I'm playing tomorrow morning. Should be the first round of the fall/winter in the 40s. 3/4 of the way through November you won't hear me complain about that.

Well, the wind quit but it rained all day yesterday.  However, we only got 0.12 inches.  I decided not to play in the rain.  I live in a desert; I don't have to pick a rainy day to play golf.  

 

Today was foggy in the morning and near freezing.  After a brief frost delay, the course was open, the sun was out, and no wind!  I just went out to practice as the course was full with people probably getting the last round in for awhile.  Tonight the low is supposed to be 16*; not unusual for this area.  I still might get out tomorrow after it warms up to 40*.  Cold weather on its way east boys!  Get ready!!

Yeah... and you know they're snooping around here reading all your posts. I bet they call you again regarding some of this stuff you've been passing around. Laser Rangefinders, ball reviews, sandbagging, miraculous shots you've hit and the big one.... the company you've been keeping. LOL (by the way... you don't know me. ok?)
