tommc23
Thinking of some new irons. Been losing some distance and I haven’t had enough time to practice so using blades no matter how much they fit my eye has been keeping me from breaking 90. I don’t think it’s the shaft I enjoy what I hit and I don’t get any whippy feelings like I have in other shafts. I do believe that it’s time to suck it up and buy something that fits my game better no matter how much I enjoy looking down at blades. bens197, MDGolfHacker, GolfSpy_APH and 2 others

It may have been longer but the g400 ballflight was everything I missed. Tighter dispersion and it would climb and then just soar at a lovely altitude. I’d say explore other shafts to dial in the Ping but that g400 was the final edition of that particular shaft tip and I don’t want to mess around with that. So for the time being, this is taking the place of what I was thinking about. Still the best driver Ping made IMO. Violinguy
I'm rebuilding my golf swing and bag right now. I've used the same clubs (except for driver) since I was young and thin. My swing is essentially the same now that I'm old and fat, but it needs some serious work. After a few tries, I've broken 100 and haven't shot over it again. At my best, I'm in that 85-95 corridor. I've got my eye on 699/699 pro combo set for irons. The BH-5s I'm playing have been solid, but since my swing speed is still pretty fast (100-115 with driver), I'd like to take advantage of technology for some extra yards. This will happen within the next 3-6 months. I'm also starting to eye up their 3-woods as I currently don't have one. After that, I'll be looking at replacing my 30-year old putter. Finally, after some much needed instruction, I'll decide on a driver that I can hit straight. Distance doesn't interest me as much as accuracy. The Epic driver I have now works just fine since I literally have no idea where the ball is going to go. By next summer, I'd like to have a complete bag of clubs that I love. Then maybe a new bag. BIG STU
Man I might be boring but please indulge me here. As most of the old timers know I am not much into newer stuff. I was reading and thinking this AM what do I need? I guess I am lucky I have won so many Srixon balls I do not need any. Bags amongst other things I am a bag ho. But I am thinking seriously about pulling the trigger on a new Jones original. Actually my wife is encouraging me because as she says I have not bought myself anything new and nice for a long time. Clubs of all kinds I have a plethera of. With my memory bad due to the hit on my head during my accident I have forgotten some of the stuff I do have. Good Example the Muirfields I am now playing I forgot I had and that they have regular shafts too. They are in pristine condition and for me like finding new clubs.
