I have been to this same venue and city before back in 2017 for another event. People are nice, food is good, but still a very different world from what most of us are use to. Which leads me to my vent/rant. Last event we had ALL brand new equipment for our ice making needs. This equipment was taken and as we were told put into storage... apparently this wasn't the case. We had a call the other day and they want all new equipment again... however we are a month out and ordering, shipping and customs it is likely impossible to get it into the country on time. On the call we were told to forget about the 2017 kit and will likely have to source a lot locally (not easy to do) or bring a lot in bags what we can. The sad part is this is not entirely unexpected and teams here are trying to qualify for worlds and olympics which is very important so a lot of pressure on making stellar conditions. In the end we will get the job done, but the stress is already mounting and there is little spoken english there(thankfully my deputy is Russian), but it will be an adventure however with a little extra care a lot of this could have all been avoided and managed a lot easier. RichL85
Not really a problem, but a frustrating morning today. Last night I received a request from our automation manager in Florida if I could be at a client site this morning to act as a second set of eyes and oversee the operation of a piece of equipment that has been giving the client some trouble recently. This kind of thing is normal in my job so no big deal. I have some reports to work on but not terribly busy. I arrive at the client site early because of the time difference I can be in touch with Florida if there are issues. Turns out, the client site is not even running the equipment at the moment due to an issue with a piece of equipment on their side that is needed to supply it. Would have been nice if they had communicated to me that the issue was going to prevent them from using the equipment and given me at least an estimate when my equipment was going to be up and running so I could do something useful with my time. Shankster
I’m putting this here because I will most likely have a problem in a few days. I’ve been nursing the shoulder for a few weeks now… pain is getting better, and the strength is getting better… so against my better judgment. I’m going to play 9 sometime this week. Probably 75% swings, but I can’t stand being on the bench anymore. sirchunksalot, Kenny B, MattF and 6 others 7 1

John W Sutch
All right guys, I,ve got one for you. Had open heart surgery in June. Getting antsy to play golf again. Will have four months of healing under my belt next week. Want to know if anyone on this site has gone through the same and how long it took them to get back playing. What drills and exercises did you use to get back in shape. Am putting right now but that's it. Docs are of differing opinions of when to start back. One says around November and another say after the first of the year. Sure don't want to mess things up or my surgeon will be pissed. Thanks in advance. Popular Post sirchunksalot
I wanted to give an update on my mother-in-law, as the past week or so there hasn't been much of a change in her condition and really nothing to tell. She's finally cleared of Covid and her MRSA is under control. She's doing well enough that they transferred her to a rehab facility last night. She's still got a long road ahead of her, but at least this is a positive. It's going to take a while to get her back up and walking as she's been bed ridden for a month and a half. My wife said she talked to her today and today was the first time Cindy really realized how bad of a shape she's been in. Honestly, she's been pretty disoriented and confused, telling some wild stories. I've gotta say, she's got am imagination. I appreciate all the support and encouragement as my family has been going through a lot. You all are awesome! I'll continue to update as things progress, I just wanted to share she's finally out of the hospital. fixyurdivot, GolfSpy_SHARK, bens197 and 14 others 15

Probably 75% swings, but I can’t stand being on the bench anymore. If it was smacking as bad as you described in the first post, I'd advise not to hit balls. Maybe just lightly swing the club for exercise and to keep things loose, maybe some short chipping and putting, but these injuries take some time to heal. If you rush it and re-aggravate, it can set you back or make it even worse. My non-medical background, simply a fellow spy who has dealt with chronic shoulder pain, .02 cents... worth exactly what you paid for it. My advice to make sure that she is up and about as much as possible. My dad spent 2.5 months in rehab the first of the year after a fall. I couldn't get in the see him because of covid, and I don't think he was out off bed much except for his therapy and meals near the end of his stay. He ended up with bed sores that took a long time to heal. RichL85
My brother-in-law's girlfriend gave birth to their son two days ago, about 6 weeks early. Haven't heard too much news other than the baby will probably be in NICU for at least a month. Having been through the NICU with my own, I do not wish those kinds of experiences on anyone.
