Driver weights - newbie question

Recommended Posts

So I've been reading different posts where some have adjusted the weights on their driver. I have a non adjustable driver G20. I was wondering can I put a weight on the bottom of the driver to act as if I was using an adjustable driver.?

I've been able to reduce my slice to a fade but looking now for some equipment help now.

Yes and no.

You could add weight with lead tape, but I doubt you could add enough to make a difference in your ball flight.  It's mostly just for tweaking your swing weight.

You could also use hotmelt to add weight and place it in a specific spot.  I'm guessing this is something you would need to take it in to a shop to accomplish though.  Also once it's there, you aren't moving it around so you need to know exactly what you want before you do it.

Just in case you aren't familiar, hotmelt is a process of squirting glue inside the driver head in a specific spot to add weight and in some cases give a draw or fade bias.  It all depends on the position of where you add the hotmelt and how much weight you are adding.

So are there ways to add weight to a G20?  Yes.

Is it going to make a difference in ball flight?  Probably not.

Can you add a weight to turn it in to an adjustable driver?  No
