Got an email yesterday that the course is on track to open tomorrow!!!!!

 

Of course I can't play until after church on Sunday. Just praying the last 100k or do people in our county without power get it back today. It seems like I know all of them.

We don't know how fortunate we are living in the south and able to play golf year round.  When it's taken away by injury, illness, or weather like we just experienced, it's a wake up call.

Great morning!

Heard from my buddy in Naples just got his power this morning.

They are OK, lots of wind damage but no flooding. The usual gas and food short supply but a lot of help is all around them. Kinda makes my morning

Oh Oh Hurricane Jose headed to my home state of Connecticut! Hope it peters out by the time it gets there. Don't need my kids & Gkids going thru this garbage. Last storm (beside snow) was Sandy.

That's great!  We played today at a course half way between Jax and St Augustine.  Was in fine shape except for the bunker washouts, but even those weren't that bad.  Started out great, finish was a bit of a struggle.  Great to get out!

Nonchalant putts count the same as chalant putts.

Well power is back on and internet is up so things are getting back in shape. My course had four holes on the backside the were three feet under water so it is still closed. I kid you not the greens keeper said he could of played the back nine from his John boat.

 

I believe they will be opening the front nine today or tomorrow. But they had to delay the clean up of the back nine due to the water.

 

Maybe the Gremlins in my swing have run off to bother someone else since I have not been playing lately.

Got out on my course yesterday, played about as well as I could of not getting out for a few weeks. I have to hand it to the greens crew. They really have worked their tails off getting stuff out back together. We still have quite a few trees down on the sides of the fairways and a lot of the bunkers will need sand.

 

Still, it was great to get out and do something. I hope all the other FL members' courses are getting back in shape.
