Enjoy the day with loved ones, and if you travel, please do so safely.

Please take time to remember that this holiday is set aside as a day to remember the men and women that gave their lives so we can enjoy the freedoms that this wonderful country was built upon.

Enjoy it all and remember those that served on this day that weren’t able to come back and enjoy these freedoms we have (and everyday of course)

For the past 20 years or so, our Club has done a memorial service on the Sunday morning of Memorial Day weekend honoring not only veterans but also first responders and Club members we've lost over the past year. It was quite an event that included wreath laying, honor guard, orchestra, flyover by a WW II vintage fighter, etc. Quite a emotionally stirring event. Unfortunately this year because of covid's social distancing, it's scaled back to a small fraction of what it was, with little or no audience participation, but,  it will be broadcast live for those that want to tune in. It will lose much of it's impact but at least we will continue to recognize that this Memorial Day weekend is more than just a long weekend. Hopefully next year we're back to the full scale service.

Damn I hope so. That’s a great event. Our town is one of the few left that still do a parade. Not this year unfortunately....

Almost every year, around the Memorial Day in our area always mist/rain as the sky is sharing it's sorrow.  Only a few years in the last 4 + decades that I remembered were without the moisture.

This coming Monday will be a soaker.

I'm not a person who's big on  celebrate/remembrance a few days on the calendar.   I kind of carry all of them on my shoulders with me.  Good or bad, happy or sad.... so I would not step out of the line, so to speak.

Memorial day is a day I remember so many whom did not make it back to their family.  Those touched me personally from the 60's-70's.  Can't remember my father's generation for I was not around then, but I heard stories told by the uncles and their friends at late night gathering for story telling.

Sometimes, one can not feel or realize the meaning of an event unless one was touched by it.

Stay safe out there and drive carefully.   It seems a lot of the ignorant are packing these days.

Rain expected through Monday... I should be able to take three days off this week to make-up for losing a holiday weekend.

Remember those who’ve fallen to protect our freedoms!

Did my Volunteer work at Pebble Creek this morning .......pace of play was very steady and the course was mostly full, even with rain in the forecast. We did get a few drizzles but that was all.

Happy Memorial Day. Let us never forget those who gave their lives in service to protect our country and the freedoms we enjoy everyday.

Our town was not able to have the usual parade and ceremony but some people across the country played Taps at 3pm Eastern.

This is my father-in-law Jeff doing his part:
