A “100-year event” storm had been forecasted to roll through today, threatening to back up sewers and flood streets and cellars in our home area and make the drive home hazardous—the highways and country roads are lively with folks hauling camping caravans to and from. We were flooded last year, so we left a day early to prep.

That’s okay, really, the best weather on the coast was still overcast, so we didn’t miss out on too much—and all in all, a relaxing time.

Suffice to say, no golf today. Have a good one.

Huge testing opportunity with the Vokey Wedge Fit App!  

Finished up the Foreward remote fitting yesterday and got the results in.  Some surprising results and some that matched up with my fitting from last year.  Have a thread started HERE for anyone interested.  

Family time this morning and then finally getting a round in this afternoon with the guys.

I only rolled a few putts yesterday, but I'll tell you that it felt amazing, hardly any skid off the face and just felt like I been using it for years.

@GolfSpy_BEN Have you played Chapel Hill GC in Mount Vernon? About 30 minutes East of Columbus. They got one hell of a deal for unlimited golf vouchers for snacks and drinks. Played there last year.

Good morning Spies from tropical Michigan.

Warm and humid today, both the temperature and humidity expected to be about 90.

No golf on the agenda today, actually have a Leader Dog event to attend this afternoon, more of a social event for them this time.

@ILMgolfnut have fun, play well, and safe travels home tomorrow.

@berkeleybob hope the worst part of the expected weather misses your area, and you have safe travels back too.

@buckpillar great looking putter, and interesting milling on the face.

Top of the pot spies . It's another crispy day here in The Valley of the Sun... a nice phrase created by AZ tourism department for "welcome to the desert" .  A 0707 tee this morning at a new course at our sister community; Trail Ridge in Sun City West.  We've been taking advantage of the low summer rates to mix up our standard 4 course rotation. Have a great start to the weekend all and play well if golf is on your schedule.

@Cfhandyman, tell your wife that picture is fantastic!

Good morning Spies!

Stayed up until midnight last night to try and secure a good tee time for next weekend at one of my favorite courses in the Chicagoland area. According to their website tee times don't open until 7 days beforehand and my buddies and I wanted to play next Saturday. Long story short, they don't release them right at midnight, but rather some ambiguous time later on. Woke up to either 6:30am or 9:40am available. I don't mind 6:30, but I can't speak for everyone in our group. We'll see if they're willing to keep it, or if I'll have to settle for another course.

Update: was able to secure a better tee time at another local course I've been wanting to try. Shoutout to @chisag for the recommendation a while back! Looking forward to checking it out next weekend.

Celebrating my wife's birthday this evening with some friends. We'll be going to dinner & a show at Medieval Times. For those not familiar, it's basically dinner theatre with actors jousting and sword fighting while you eat a chicken leg and drink a stein of beer. Should be pretty fun and I know my wife will enjoy it.

@Cfhandyman beautiful work from your wife! My grandma used to do similar style watercolor paintings and this reminds me of them.

Hoping to get to the range today to get some practice in before a round tomorrow. Swing is feeling really good and would love to go low! Have a great Saturday everyone and if you're lucky enough to be golfing, hit 'em straight!

Good morning spies and welcome to the weekend! It's going to be a hot and humid day today. I don't have a tee time booked, but I'm planning on going to the range today to work on the driver. Yesterday, I got my driver cut down to 44.5" which is the tour length. I'm excited to see how that changes my accuracy, distance, and overall confidence. I'm thinking it'll make a good difference. Other than that, I don't really have much going on. For all of you that are going out to play today, hit em straight and shoot well!

Good morning everyone. Up early and couldn’t resist one last steak and eggs breakfast with the leftover steak from earlier this week. Diced up some potatoes and made a skillet like meal out of it with a couple eggs and some toast. Pretty sure I don’t need to eat until dinner now, lol.  
@ILMgolfnut I hope your last day goes well and may your last round be your best. Your exploits have me craving my own Scotland experience soon. 
@buckpillarLove the look of the new putter. Was it a contest win or are they aiming to bring you on as an influencer? I know @Rob Person does stuff with Lombardi and loves their product. 
Not much on the docket for me today. Gonna get in 9 holes to match up the nine I shot at league on Wednesday for another VCT score. Gotta up my game a little now that I got promoted to Tier I. Hope everyone has a great day ahead!

Out of town caretaker/handyman chorin' just about complete.  Not sure how I became the default responsible child out of the bunch.

Bacon onboarded, dogs out for morning walk and swim. Looking forward to a relaxing Saturday with a chance of evening golf

Good morning everyone! 

It's a later start than usual as I'm a bit pooped after working yesterday and getting out to play afterwards. My wife tagged along to help me with testing the Vortex Anarch, I let her use it so I could get a perspective of a non golfer on its ease of use. Let's just say she loved it and was able to use it without any problems. 

I also had my best 9 hole round in over a year, 47 and didn't lose a ball. If I could have chipped and putted well I think it could have been a good round. 

@skraelingdon't overdo yourself and take plenty of breaks in that heat.

@buckpillar that Lombardi looks awesome and I hope you roll it well.

@ILMgolfnut safe travels home!

Good morning all, been some time since being on, life’s really happened the past few months and golf has really taken a back burner unfortunately, think I only have 4 rounds this year….but hopefully that will be turning around as work keeps rolling.

just got back from vacation in North Carolina. Left last night during some heavy rains (supposed to head out this morning but decided to get a full day in back home since we weren’t doing anything in the rain). Glad to be home ready to hopefully get a club in my Hanson the upcoming week or two and get back into the forum
