Popular Post Jmikecpa
Rough morning today. Was driving back from the gym and had a bad creak start in the front end of my truck. Assumed it was just a ball joint or something that needed some grease. Nope, front passenger axle is blown out and needs to be replaced. On top of that three of the four tires on my truck are blown apart on the inside wall which is terrifying. Not too disappointed since I got 78k miles out of them just more terrified that I have been driving it like that for God knows how long. Nice big truck repair bill to end my week was not really what I was hoping for CFreddie, ILMgolfnut, Byrnzee and 14 others 1 16 Quote WITB 2024 Driver: Qi10 LS 9* Ltd. LeakyValve
Morning spies. I read the article on the MGS site this morning about the whole “golf attire” controversy that’s come up in recent years. Got me thinking on my way to work… personally I think should be at the clubs discretion as to what is “acceptable” to wear, but it made me think of something else. what needs to change with the game? Why does it feel like all rounds take way longer than 4 ish hours and courses are ram packed these days? William P, ejgaudette, Byrnzee and 7 others 9 1 Quote "We're weekend golfers. Popular Post CFreddie
Good morning Spies - its been a hectic week, so glad that its Friday! Was able to squeeze in 9 yesterday for the VCT Tournament (I hope I made you proud @Javs) and plan to get the other 9 in tomorrow. Definitely the best stretch of holes I played in some time, so its exciting to see some my swing changes come to fruition live. Popular Post snoopy79
Happy Friday Spies! Watching the PGA boys in the 2nd round of The Players this morning and downing more coffee while I write this post. Well the weekend is setup to be a busy one. The plumber has already come and gone this morning to prepare for Monday's dig to fix our leaky pipe under the kitchen floor. So pulling countertop + sink along with a cabinet is on the to-do list this weekend. Along with that, its a tournament bowling weekend for my son including an adult/youth shift on Sunday so I will be busy with that along with house work. I don’t think anyone playing these local course get paid to shoot low scores. Ready golf so long as it’s not impeding a playing partner. I’m fine with things being a bit more “traditional” on the greens. I think part of this comes from newer people taking multiple shots from the same spot instead of maybe dropping 1 and then moving on. that along with the dreaded “I might hit them” comments MattWillGolf, cksurfdude, William P and 3 others 6 Quote "We're weekend golfers. Popular Post Shrek74
Good morning Spies, and TGIFF!! It was a rainy night with both thunder and lightning, but luckily no loss of power. It seems to have passed, at least for now as the clouds look to be breaking up. Cold temps coming though, with the high of mid 40's and low of mid 20's come Monday. But then back up be the weekend. So winter is hanging on by a thread at this point. Not much to share today. Dad's working away in the laundry to remove a portion of the baseboard to fit the utility cabinet and a base cabinet. We'll likely fit them in today and maybe screw them in permanently, at least that's a possibility. I'll likely need to get all my laundry done by the end of the weekend as we'll have to pull the W/D out once the back wall cabinets are in place and secured. Hopefully we'll be able to get things done within a week on the W/D wall. If not, I'll just use mom and dad's W/D until it's done. Popular Post Kenny B
Good Late Friday Morning everyone!! Close to freezing this morning, but this might be the last day for frost. Highs in the 60’s and 70’s through the weekend. It will be nice to play golf without 5 layers of clothes. Coffee was delayed this morning until after my cardiac rehab session. My BP seemed to be elevated during my last session… they didn’t like that for some reason. I haven’t fully recovered yet from my sore back, and I have 3 rounds of golf scheduled. My wife’s cousin is here this weekend and her BIL arrives on Monday… busy! Hope everyone has some great golf coming up and sad to hear about you @Peaksy68. Hope you can get to that restaurant soon. Right arm dominant stroke (Tiger is right arm dominant). Not breaking wrists is something people try to do. not everyone rocks their shoulders which makes it more arms with passive shoulders. The piston motion is probably more of an old school stroke kind of like Nicklaus. I am guessing with the Kuchar style you are trying to get a little more stability and stroke control? Yeah, I started practicing with only my right arm like Tiger and that helped with control. Funny you should mention Nicklaus; before I changed to my current putting stroke and using Heads Up putting, my stance and putting motion was similar to Jack. I found that his setup was best for my right eye dominance. The piston motion is probably a carryover from that time when I was searching for a putting game. Popular Post ronnieg
I got some new irons in recently. When I received the package, it was busted open with the heads sticking out. I'm lucky that there wasn't any cosmetic damage. However, as I'm hitting them, I notice it doesn't sit right on the ground to my eye. I'm also hitting a lot of pull shots. I take them to my local club guy tonight to have lofts and lies checked and my suspicions were confirmed. The whole set was anywhere from 1° to 3 ° upright from standard and a couple of the lofts were off. I got them bent back tonight just in time for my first scramble of the year tomorrow so no adjustment period lol. Hopefully I can figure it out on the range beforehand. Popular Post Dead Solid Bogey
Good morning MGS’s; Saturday is here, ready or not. Not a lot going on in old people land today. Still reeling from being “ volunteered “ by you-know-who, as grunt labor yesterday. Helping with the pre-staging of the community event was a long drawn out process. The “Retaliating Ruler” relished both in my somewhat discomfort from extended physical activity and in getting community kudos for supporting the event by providing labor, ( albeit very unskilled labor in me ) to the community effort. Near the end the project manager announced that there was a very good chance of storms on Saturday causing the event to be cancelled and help would be needed. I begged off stating I had to go to the gym and then go plan my funeral. I am currently looking for an open treadmill to use to catch a quick nap. No golf in my forecast today, .. Just hiding and hoping my “ Darling Dictator-for-life “ is to busy with the community gig to notice my absence. Enjoy the start of your weekend my friends… May all of your physical endeavors be of your CHOOSING….
