Good Monday morning Spies!

The day is starting well other than a delayed flight due to the blanket fog which should burn off soon enough. One hour delay is not to bad to deal with as there was no golf on the agenda after today's arrival anyway. All is packed and ready and counting down...

@rkj427 Congrats on your last official Monday and what is hopefully a short and pleasant "last" day tomorrow.

@GolfSpy_APH Enjoy the fitting and, to use my spousal units term, the makeover.

@Dead Solid Bogey Envious of your recent concert trips although I you have my deepest regrets for the venues suffered leading up to the grand finales...

Good morning, Spies!!! Happy Monday!

Another beautiful day here in the Tennessee Plateau. 64* and clear skies. And I'm stuck inside working. *groan* That's ok, it's just gonna rain all this weekend, which I've taken off for a nice 4 day weekend. Ugh.

Upside, back-to-back 4-day work weeks. Hopefully the rain will stay away by the time Friday arrives, but we'll see. It is still Spring after all.

Good morning spies!

Bunch of rain in the forecast this week, but have a weekend golf trip to Manistee National for Friday and Saturday. Going through swing changes and am having the hardest time getting the new feels worked out. Planning to spend a bunch of time practicing this week in the garage if the rain keeps coming...

I was in the second group off from the tournament on Saturday and there was some confusion about checking in, range balls, how to get carts, etc. and the range was already particularly busy, so I didn't get a chance to hit any range balls before starting my round, but I did spend more time than usual putting. Would one offset the other? Much to the surprise of no one, no, it did not balance out. 

On top of that, with the first hole being a potentially reachable Par 5, instead of doing the smart thing with no warmup (other than stretching, using the orange whip, and putting) I go against my notes for the round and duck hook a driver into the tall grass. I go to punch out and punch all the way through to the tall grass on the other side of the fairway. The ball is just absolutely in jail so I take an unplayable and after that drop I'm hitting 4 towards the green, one more wedge to get near the green, terrible chip on that runs 20+ feet down the hill past the flag and proceed to 3-putt from there for a smooth 9. Not a great start and it really set the tone for my front 9. 

I'll spare everyone the details of the rest of the round, it got a bit better, I was able to settle down some, but not nearly enough and shot 8 shots over my index. 

Can't wait to play again Saturday though.

The vacation was a lot of fun. It was centered around the kids having fun, which makes the whole trip fun for all. A lot of swimming in the pools and going to the beach. The weather in SW FL was perfect other than a day of high winds. 

The place we were staying did have a couple of golf courses on it and our room was overlooking 3 holes of the par 3 course. So it was very difficult to resist the temptation to golf, but I listened to SWMBO's orders that this was a no golf vacation! 

Anyway, it was a great time, but it's good to be back home!

@jbern, welcome home! Glad to hear the vacation was a success! If the children stay happy and occupied, makes for a very smooth and relaxing time! Unfortunately, the grind hasn't changed much...

Good morning All
Got my first round in of the year yesterday played 18 with my son for his birthday. Having been four months since I’ve been on the golf course, I’m pretty pleased with a 91. Now I just need to work on some putting and some distance control.

Good Monday Morning Spies! 

61 degrees at 7am tee off this morning.  It Quickly warmed up a bit, cloud cover all morning and winds picked up during our back 9.  Made for fun conditions on the back, including making an eagle after driving the green on a short par 4 (the hole played 292 downwind), then draining a 57-foot putt!  My 1st ever eagle on that hole. 

Working from home today! Busy day at my regular job.  Busy weekend of Rangering at golf course.  But it was fun! 

Congratulations @rkj427, on your last working Monday!! Congrats!

Good morning spies! We officially have the house to ourselves tomorrow! 10 days of guests is too much! Thursday I see the doc and find out how much longer I must wait to golf. 

@rkj427 I worked 7 days a week 12 hours a day for thirty-some-odd years. Suddenly stopping after that was tough. So some hints for the first little while you are home. Pick a project around the house that keeps you good and busy. I wired a stand-alone shop for power. Took two or three weeks. Allowed me to get used to being home (my last 10 years or so of work was overseas. I worked for 28 days and came home for 28 days), and allowed my wife to get used to me being home. The key for me was something to do with my hands that was totally engaging and ate away at the hours of the day. 

Summer is here in Mesa. 90+ for the rest of the week and I love every minute. I will add a day of golf this summer. Playing with another men's club group. That will start as soon as I am released from hernia purgatory.

Slow start to a Monday here which is great. Kicking around the idea of trading in the 2017 P790’s on the 2023 model. Extra 50% trade in plays the veteran discount is very tempting. Gotta figure out how to tell my lovely wife that these are a necessary upgrade . I’m not sure this conversation will go on my favor lol, but no biggie. Gonna play this weekend with 3 of my 4 hooligan boys so there is that to look forward to on Saturday! Have a great day and week everyone!

Patient was here on time, staff was here on time -- almost. We need an infusion nurse for each visit, and someone forgot to inform the infusion nurse that this appointment was scheduled. I got hold of her (she lives about an hour-45 away) and she can be here at 2 pm. So I'm twiddling my thumbs until then. More accurately, I'm studying for my big recertification test at the end of June. Which is even more boring now than it was 30 years ago when I learned this stuff for the first time*, but has to be done.

* -- to be honest, I didn't learn some of this stuff the first time. Some of it didn't exist 30 years ago, some of it, well, I just didn't grasp the concept. So I go through this every time I do the recert test, which is now the fourth time.

Having a bit of trouble sharing some photos but here are the final results from the Island Open senior division, 

we played much better day two, the format was 2 man best ball. 
 

like my partner said “we cashed a cheque” lol…

The intersection of golf and my job has reared its ugly head again, and this time I'm not the one with the golf bag. My job calls for me to be in Fayetteville, NC, on June 13. About 45 miles to the west, they will be teeing off that morning in the US Open at Pinehurst #2. Since there is not a large number of hotels in the Pinehurst area, Fayetteville is the closest place with a lot of rooms, and they are either already full or the hotels have jacked the rates up massively. I managed to find a room for $232 a night on the side of town away from Pinehurst. Many of the few rooms still available are a lot higher than that. My company will be sending one more person that week who will also need a room; I have alerted the schedulers to this issue.

@rkj427 congratulations on your last Monday at work! I can imagine it will be difficult to know what to do since you've been in the workforce for a while. Hopefully you'll be able to play lots of golf, sounds more time volunteering for Leader Dogs, and attending auto shows. I was thinking about you Saturday as I was driving home from having my car detailed. I drive through downtown and we had a car show happening. I only saw part of it and one of the coolest things I saw was a golf cart that was modified to look like a 57 Chevy. I wish I could have taken a photo but was driving responsibly. 

@jbern I'm glad you had a good vacation!

Morning from Down Unda fellow spies... wife is ill at the moment with what appears to be the flu so I've been sleeping on the couch to avoid it for as long as possible - with two young boys, you can only really function if only one of you is down at any one time!!

Loading up with echinacea and vitamin c to try and keep healthy as I've got first round of the matchplay championship at my golf club this weekend and really don't want to miss out!

I played golf today if you can say golf. We got 2 1/2” of rain yesterday, and a storm total of 4 1/2”.  So the course conditions were pretty wet. I’ve never seen so much water running in the streams as I did today. My driving was pretty consistent, but the distance wasn’t what I usually get because of the wet conditions. Surprisingly, the greens weren’t real receptive to my ball for being as soft as they were.  So I had long putts than I wanted to putt. But any day on the course is better than a good day at work.

@Dead Solid Bogey perhaps a Rolling Stones song that they played at the concert venue that you and the wife person attended should become your new mantra to her and all her worldly desires?

For those Spies not in attendance at the Houston venue, here is a video from that event yesterday.

Seems to me like it would be the appropriate response to any of her demands or desires.

Logic would seem it so… But unfortunately for me, the wife person doesn’t do logic, she does something called “wife witchcraft wisdom ”.  
   If I mentioned the fact, that  like the song states; while you can’t always get what you want, you can usually get what you need… The She Sorceress will undoubtedly start lamenting that she; can’t  get no satisfaction.

Alas… Little did I know eons ago, when I passionately utter the words,  “ I DO “…  What the newly anointed and crowned monarch believed she heard me say was; “ I never will again”….
