Top of the pot spies . A nice cool morning and low 90's forecast for us today. No golf today, just the gym and a couple of "to do's". Sitting out on the front patio having coffee and watching my wife play mad scientist with her baby cactus starts.  She bought one of those hygrometers for measuring soil moisture level and she's out every other morning stabbing the dirt.  Seems overly complicated to me.  Oh well, she's having fun, it's cheap entertainment, and no one has gotten injured...yet...so all is good .

Have a great day and for our spies dealing with the smoke, hope it clears out soon.  We dealt with that situation in MT several summers and it gets old really fast.

I can now picture you and your wife out on your front patio.  Thanks for the invite over last January. 

So far, the smoke from fires here in the west haven't been too bad, but it's early in the season.

nicer day this morning sun is breaking through. Picked lettuce and herbs for salad mix, Garlic Scapes, Strawberries and the last of the Asparagus. My 2 yougest gransons 3/1.5, arecoming over for an overnight! Will be a fast paced afternoon!

Good Morning everyone!  Woke up to my sprinklers running. WTH!!  I water my lawn at 4pm because everyone waters in the morning and I never have enough pressure.  Yesterday I replaced a motion light above the garage and turned off the power.  I reset the garage clock and irrigation timer when done, but apparently to me the "P" in PM looks like the "A" in AM.  

No golf today.  My wife informed me that all of our "regulars" for golf this weekend have bailed on us.  What did I say or do now!?  Hope we get paired with people that take fewer than 5 shots to reach the green and then fewer than 4 shots to get in the hole once they get there.

To all the travelers to the MGS Outing in Pinehurst... safe travels, play well, and have a great time!!  Wish I could be there.

Morning all!  Took a couple days off to be seeing eye dog for my wife's eye surgery.  I'm not a doc but what she had done sounds like an oil change to me (changed the fluid in her eye).  Weather in western Washington has been in high 70's with some low 80's lately but today is not supposed to break 60 with a little rain.  No wild fire smoke but there are some really bad fires just north of us in Canada with a huge new one.  A weather shift and we'll have the smoke, too.  Despite all that I think I'll sneak out for a quick nine.  Supposed to watch my wife but things are going good.  I'll tell her I've been sitting on her right (surgery) side and been there all along! 

No, the patch comes off this morning and all will be good.  So nine today and an 18 over the weekend. 

Hope everyone has a good/bad/indifferent round in them this weekend!  All of them are good and end with a beer!

Morning Spies. Our youngest is home from daycare again with strep. Pretty sure she's feeling better. She's already convinced me she needed ice cream for breakfast because "My throat hurts, I'm so sick..." 

I'm in trouble when she starts asking for things that are expensive.

Good morning spies! I hope everyone's morning is off to a good start. I am staying with my grandma for most of today, so I'm not sure if I am going to be able to get any golf in. I am hoping to sneak out onto the range tonight to work on my driving, it definitely needs work. It's supposed to be a beautiful day here in Iowa, so nonetheless, it should be a good day. Also, if y'all are interested, I just posted my final review from the Maxfli Golf Ball test. Check it out! Have a day everyone!

well, look at that, I played Kanawaki in the Canadian Men's senior amateur, I think it was 2016 or 2017. You are correct it is a beautiful course with a spectacular clubhouse, this picture doesnt show how uphill that second shot is going into 18. We were welcomed with open arms and the food there was spectacular, another fun thing is the members locker room has Montreal Canadians names on the lockers... enjoy if you get to play there.

One of the Bacon Boyz had a really bad morning, Par 3, 130 yards over water lost 2 in the water and 3rd barely made it.  He picked up after 9 and was not on the green yet

Good morning all! Short day today in the office then back home to get some cleaning done. Staying home this weekend to organize the garage and hoping to get some golf in. Also looking forward to following along with the Spies Outing all weekend!

Yes, that's our morning perch for coffee. Hope you and Martha can visit again next winter.

Hopefully it will be a low incident season.  When I was with the VFD in MT, we got BLM training each year focused on wildfires.  I use to think "oh great, it was a heavy snow and wet spring cycle, so the fire threat should be low".  Nope.  It just grows more fuel and, if summers drying cycle is too fast and t-storms hit at the wrong times, it can be worse.

It is unusual thatthe midwest and east coast get hit so hard.  But then, I don't think wildfires in Canada typically are that bad, that far into the eastern provinces.

Won't make it this winter.  We are headed back to Palm Springs in February.

I heard someplace that while eastern Canada had some lightning strikes, many of the first started from campsites.

Morning MGS, and TGIF. I slept 3 hours, woke up with a headache, went back to sleep for 7 hours and now I feel great. Must have needed the rest.

GM Y'all- I hope everyone is havin a great day and hopefully things will get less hazy for those affected by the Canuck smoke. Things have been crazy at work lately- end of Fiscal year and departments are busy trying to justify their budgets (to be read: spending like crazy). I'm seeing a new putter in the bag coming soon. Then I'm sure I'll be able to figure out if it's the archer or the arrow. According to the testing I did- the new one is MUCH more accurate. Anyways, hope that golf involved in your day and know that I'm  jealous(although I might get a range session in tonight ahead of my round tomorrow). Nothin but F&Gs and NO 3-putts.

Good morning all! I am sitting at work this Saturday morning as I volunteered to come in to help finish today. Finish Saturdays are a lot more relaxed than production days, so it's not that bad. Not to mention we have a three day weekend coming up next weekend.

I hope those of you that are on the Pinehurst trip have safe travels and a wonderful time. I hate that I couldn't make it this year, but sometimes life gets in the way. I hope y'all hit them well and enjoy each other's company.

Dew sweeper round scheduled at 6:30 this morning with one of my good friends, so up and at it getting some quick breakfast then heading up to the club to chip/putt and hit some range balls if the pro is there. First group out so can play at our own pace, and just enjoy the sights, sounds and smell of nature waking up. Hope everyone has a great day!

Ready to hit start on cup number 2. Air quality got into the green yesterday but jumped back into the yellow this morning. My wife is competing in an Aqua Bike race this morning. Swimming and biking are her “golf”. Her equipment spends are around her bikes.

Good morning all, a little excited and a little anxious this morning, my 1st round with my new Tacomo 301MB's. Let me say up front these irons do feel really nice and I had a chance to dial in some carry numbers yesterday. As some of you know I compete at a high level provincially and nationally in Canada and I havent changed my irons in 8 years so it will be interesting today to say the least, sooooo... as Jackie Gleason would say (for the young golfers on the forum Jackie was an actor in the 40's-50's-60's and 70's) "and away we go" I will update after the round... have a great day everyone...
