Hello golf friends!

My name is Greg and I'm new to the forums, though not new to MGS. I live in Northern VA surrounded by some very nice courses that I am lucky to play 3-4 times a month.

I've been play casually for close to 20ish years, but this past winter I decided to really dedicate time to improving now that I work from home and do not travel for work any more. Finally got properly fitted for my driver and it has been a game changer so far.. irons are next on the list.

I'm excited to be here and to learn as much as I can to improve my game.

Welcome @PapaGoose8. As you browse around look for the Kingsmill Outing thread. That's only 2-1/2 hours from you and we still have 2 or 3 open spots. I think we already have 17 or 18 spies signed up to go. Don't worry, a lot of have never met in person before but we are all friends through the forum.

I head to Pinehurst tomorrow for my first ever "golf buddies trip". Playing #4, Mid Pines, Pine Wild, Tobacco Rd, and Woodlake. I'm very excited.

I decided the same thing this winter.. started taking lessons on the Skillest app and shot the best 9 holes of my life. Unfortunately every single other round of golf has been a pretty big step back. It’s a bit discouraging to be honest but I haven’t had the chance to practice the last couple of weeks since my last lesson( I have played multiple times so I guess really I did have time to practice just didn’t utilize it) so that is probably the biggest reason why but hopefully you aren’t going through the same thing!

I have a cobra rad speed driver, cobra fly z 3 and 5 wood, taylormade m1 irons (5-PW), Top Flite Gamer wedges (52,56,60), and odyssey white ice putter. When I’m playing to keep score I typically play the Maxfli Tour X. When just getting a round in with friends or scrambling I play whatever I might find on the course or might find at the bottom of my bag.
