What's Your Dream Putter?

Is there one putter that you wish you could have? What shaft is in it? What's the perfect grip? 

Do you have a dream putter and better yet do you already own it?

I am happy with my DF2.1 but would love to try the TPT shaft.  I don't see this putter leaving the bag. Maybe replaced/exchanged or even try the broom but it will stay in the bag.

My dream putter has always been an original Scotty Cameron Teryllium putter. I've been lucky to have a few different models over the years, but currently have what is the holy grail to me: a Newport 2 Longneck that has been refinished in a DLC coating so I don't have to worry about rust. It isn't always in the bag, but it is one that will never leave the putter stash.

• L.A.B.'s torque balancing
• MLA's alignment aid
• Evnroll's face grooves
• Toulon's (Small Batch) aesthetics
• One of the über-stable shafts (not sure if they do anything, but if we're dreaming, let's throw it in)
• Garsen Quad grip

For a gamer: LAB Mezz Max Broomstick. Blue head, white accura shaft. 

For collecting: Custom Bettinardi Minovi DASS with a Wizard throwing bomb icons on the sole.

My dream putter to game is not much different from what I have. 

LAB DF3 with BGT Stability ONE shaft 36" in black with the DF2.1 logo for the alignment mark and the Press II 3 degree Smooth. I have never tried a counter balance putter and so that would be the only thing that could change that if it works for me.

 

If I had the option to own any putter I think I would want an original Ping 1A or one of the original Anser's.  

Karsten Solheim and Ping revolutionized putting and I think LAB is taking the next step though not on the same level as what Ping did.

Since my fitting and using it , Edel is the answer to my dreams , it does everything I want a putter to do , aligns , speed , no  twist , gives confidence to me , my own personal opinion

I would say a Scotty with teryllium insert since I prefer putters with an insert. Something like that. I would probably hate it but it is a dream.

Second would be My S pider Tour X with L neck, I could afford one, but without trying one, wouldn't order one when I can't roll a few with it.

My dream putter would be one that I could mill myself using patterned Damascus.   For this to happen,  i'd have to learn how to mill steel.   Would want hand milled and not CNC milled.     It would probably be something with swappable components like Machine putters.

I couldn't really say I have a dream putter. I love the putter I use now, which is the Odyssey OG 7. My buddy used it the other day and really liked it as well. 

I would have to try different putters to see the differences.

Currently really interested in the Jalibird Cruiser and the LAB DF3. Going to be going through a putter fitting in the coming months though to see what would be the best fit

Dream putter would be a Tyson Lamb putter.  A vintage Scotty GSS Newport would be up there too.  

There are so many dream putters and I own none of them.  Even if I owned it would I play it.  That’s a good question.  I probably wouldn’t…

I'm presently using a hickory-shafted putter because it looks cool,

but when that goes colder than normal,

I always have the Ram Zebra that I bought in 1978 and a Ping Zero 4.

My cutting edge knowledge of up-to-date tech

is why I only use my smart phone

to call AAA if I get a flat, or to order take out on my way home.

When I proposed to my wife, we each got brand new Scottys. I got a Phantom 5.5s and she wanted a Newport 2. As amazing putters as they are... 

 

I cant help but wonder what LAB putters are like? it makes so much sense and all the reading of reviews and youtube videos telling people to try them. I want to see what all the noise is about.

2024 Phantom 5 with an oversized Matador grip. From seeing on YouTube, to seeing it at the PGASS, and now seeing it my bag. I feel pretty.

I love my Tad Moore Pro1 G. I have the first production run made the year I was born and made in the town I am from. My dad always told me that Tad Moore taught Scotty Cameron how to make putters. Never did find any further info on that.

 

I'd love a Tyson Lamb at some point, mostly for collecting

My dream putter is the one I now have and is now a reality as I still keep dreaming about making those birdies which don't happen as often as I would like. There just isn't a magical wand out there but my LAB DF 3 isn't leaving the bag

I found my dream putter decades ago in the Ram Zebra.

Most any modern, brand name, non-offset, face balanced mallet putter works the same way
now that Ram is part of golf history.  There had to be a first one, however, and I jumped on it.

Have always liked an Anser style putter but have tried a bunch of different putters over the years. Tried one last year that really didn’t suit me but liked the way it looked and tried to make it work for a couple of months. Not only did that not work it messed up my putting in general. Decided to get a top quality putter and went to my favorite trading shop with a Scotty in mind or something similar. Looked at a couple of Evnroll ER2’s and it seems to suit my eye as good as anything I’ve played, now back to where I should be, so ER2 it is.
