@GolfSpy_BEN, please back date this to 5/19.  Got home after 10p and couldn't post it before the topic closed.

I wish I could count this as two rounds, because it sure felt like it!  Having had a great lesson a few days before that really tightened some things up, the strings came undone and I wasn't able to hit anything.  Worst performance in a long time.  I also changed to different wedges with completely different grinds and lofts, and only played with irons.  Still should have done much better.  I chock it up to my regular group bailing on me so just said F* it and started beer on the 2nd hole.  Bad plan if I want to maintain.

S/R:  68.8/124 from the Blue tees

Good round chipping, but greens still have not healed completely and are still bumpy.  But without any real rain, everything is playing hard and fast.

Rating 68.7. Slope 128

Nice round!

Played Bajamar in a fantastic foursome. Great weather. Epic views. Oh yeah, watch out for the rattlesnakes if you lose a ball in the brush.

Club Capestre Tijuana is an awesome golf experience. The course is in fantastic shape, professionally run, and more importantly...fun to play. Even though I shot 99, I felt good about the day. Our caddie was on point all day with our clubs and especially with helping to read the greens which were fast, fast, fast. Did I mention the fast greens? Like putting on a pool table surface. Perfect.

We went back for more on Thursday. This time we had a foursome and we placed a friendly wager on the outcome. Unfortunately, we came out on the short end of the stick. My 99 didn't help a whole lot.

From the gold tees:  67.7, slope 124

It was an average day!

image.png.7231d1f42623b5e2ea2b7076206cdf54.png

Fairways hit was 86% which is pretty good.  One of those "misses" was by 3 inches (and it landed in a bare spot).  The fairways in regulation was 17%, up one from my average number hit.  The three up and down for pars would have been better if my putting wasn't as impacted by the aerated greens.  They have not been mowed for two weeks.  They are shaggy, bumpy and it's anyone's guess where the ball will ultimately go!  That's exemplified by the 32 putts (about 4 to 5 more than my average from non-aerated greens).

On Monday I head out to Las Vegas and plan to play Bahi Hai and Rio Secco golf courses.  Our aerated and super slow greens are really going to screw up my putting stroke and speed for those Las Vegas greens.  I better get their early and practice my putting!

Rough day putting. Mostly nerves and new greens that had grain to them. Took penalties on every par 5. Had some great shots also. At least 4 holes where I could have made birdie. One stroke better than last year at the same venue. Could have done better but that is golf. Great competition experience.

Putter was very disrespectful today. No putts made over 4 feet. Too many 3-putt bogeys as I struggled to get the green speed and slope down

Been a rough stretch the past few weeks without having the time to get in enough practice. Today was no exception. The wind was gusty which caused havoc with a few shots leading to some double bogeys. Still a great day on a great course. Will be out there again Monday to caddy and again on June 1 to caddy. IMG_1149.jpeg.2a106bd551b8153e1221544b45c25d34.jpeg

Arrcos crapped out on me so no driver distance recorded.  Didn't kill anything so longest was probably in the 250-260 range.

No birdies or eagles, but I did have one of my partners referred to me as Fred Couples for how smooth and in rhythm my swing was flowing. So I am taking that as a win.

Decided to try to get on Sand Valley as a single less than 24 hours in advance and got lucky to be in the first tee time of the morning. Rando pairing with a pair of friends from the Milwaukee area and a sports med doc from the Twin Cities. We all hit great drives off No. 1 at 7 am and were off.  The most enjoyable round I have had in quite a while.  Players got along, caddies got along, beautiful sunny day, light breeze and a world class course.  Clubbed myself up deliberately on approach shots and reaped the benefits.  Got a couple of really great bounces and despite a triple and 2 doubles, played well and was happy with the score. One of those days when you really understand why golf is a great life activity.

Looking back up from No. 1 green toward the tee and start shack. For some reason when I insert the pic it inverts the image.  Even after I edited the original to invert it.  Sorry, stand on your heads, its a pretty view.SandValley05252024No1.jpg.dd34be43a7518f5749d41d2e6fbd019f.jpg

Got out early this morning before the rain.  Beautiful morning.  I played my backup clubs, which are Hogan Apex II irons primarily.  I also tested my demo Maltby TS1 with the Xcaliber RT shaft as much as possible.

The Hogans are so sweet.  I surprised myself some hitting them well.  Distances are an adjustment due to the traditional lofts, but they are a joy to play.  And the wedges!  Holy crap. Money, and so soft feeling.  I have a crush on these clubs.

The TS1 and Xcaliber were remarkably accurate.  Very straight.  Intriguing to be certain.

If I could get off the tee better …. Sigh.

Looking forward to testing the Qi10 LS more for that purpose in the upcoming weeks.

The run of good play continues...  Maybe it's permanent?   🤷‍♂️😆

My best round in this little exec.  I'm one three putt and two bad Texas wedges away from 2 under for 9.

Unfortunately, this is a compilation round. Wednesday, we started early and played the back 9 before the rain and shot a 39. Then Friday, I shot a 40 on the front and then pulled a muscle in my back on the 12 and picked after my tee shot on 13 went about 40 yards.

I had planned on playing today, but after some time on the range I decided to rest up and hopefully play tomorrow. I’m not sure that will happen. My back is not bad sore, but it’s just at the point that I feel like an overly aggressive swing with poor timing will really screw it up, so since I can’t play golf, I will have to do one of my other favorite past times: watch golf, research golf, think about golf, talk about golf, dream about golf.

I think you made an error. 79 with a course handicap wouldn’t be minus 7. I think it should be even

I did that moments before my nap. I usually check to make sure but forgot and went to sleep. I blame my dog. He had the sleeper hold on me.

I’ve really been struggling off the tee the last few weeks, and that is typically my strong suit. Makes for a tough day. Enjoyed the beer and the pool afterward, though.

The shotscope app is nice! Can save and share images from specific rounds.
Played well, didn’t make many putts nor hit it close enough to make putts. The data really doesn’t lie. Drove it well!
