I think a road to the Carolinas is in order. Only a short 14 hour drive. I’ll have to bribe my wife with a side trip to Charleston.

@Cfhandyman not a bad drive at all, I have done it more than once and some scenic views along the way. Also, only a 90-minute flight from DTW and flights are very reasonable too.

I would be pleased to help organize a Canadian meet up!  Advantageous FX rates for Americans, better beer and great golf options in Canada!

That would be great!  I also know Ontario courses well too, so I can organize meet ups in the East or West side of Canada.

BTW, the Scotty has been amazing…  still putting great with it. Thank you again for allowing me to have it in my bag!   I love it so much that I decided not to bring in across the pond to make sure the airline didn’t lose it.  I did the same with my Dream 7, I left that at home too.

Hope we can organize a fun Canadian meet up in 2025!

I’m located in southern Ontario, just a short distance from Detroit, which makes it convenient for Midwest Americans to join us. Additionally, there are several excellent golf courses in the area. 🤔

Unless something really weird happens I'm in. My son lives in the Myrtle area anyway (Pawleys Island) so it's an excuse to go visit and play some golf. Maybe he can get me a deal at the hotel where he works.

Should be able to make this one too.

@GolfSpy SAM I can comment on Aberdeen as I have played it many times over the years, mostly in the early spring and mid fall seasons, not May time period.

Fair course, generally in very good shape depending upon the weather there prior, as it is in a low-lying area and can get flooded and damaged.

You may also want to check out Long Bay also in Longs, and just down the road from Aberdeen, more of a premium course but reasonable rates.

Yep love Aberdeen and like you said it is in a low lying area. I do not know how it fared in our last storm. Last time I played there was perhaps 10 years ago and it was memorable. I played it with my 1955 Hogan Precision irons and modern metals. Shot like 4 or 5 over with that antique stuff. LOL had a funny thing happen there. I had went mostly Hogan retro that day even wearing a Hogan baseball cap. Had this younger guy ask "if I was playing Ben Hogan Ft Worth irons?". I told him sure am. He got all excited and told his bud and they wanted to see my clubs. I told him ok. They came over to look and their faces fell. The kid said he thought I had Hogan Ft Worth irons. I said those are---- made in Ft Worth Texas in 1955. They walked away confused and dejected as Little Bear and his Brother howled.

Long Bay outstanding Nicklaus designed course. In fact last I heard my bud who was our Pro at Indian Wells is director of golf there.

Actually this may be good for me. I have became what the locals call a Garden City/Murrells Inlet hermit since my retirement and accident in 2020. I stick around in this area and around my home course Indigo Creek. My bud Little Bear passed in like 21 and his brother we call Checkers has moved back to Upstate NY. Since Indian Wells closed in 19 the old Miura Mafia bunch has split up and some of those guys have passed on and a some of them hang in Pawleys Island

Willbrook is a wonderful old school Grand Strand Golf in the 70s course. Heard it is in good shape. Have not played it in a while. Like I said I have not came out of my shell in a while. I am seriously thinking on selling my Membership at Indigo for a bunch of reasons. If I do I may go back with Prime Times.

My late neighbor was one of the starters at Willbrook for years until he passed away around 2017 or so

I haven't golfed in Myrtle Beach, so that would be awesome, but we have a family trip planned in May already. I don't think I'll be able to swing a vacation and a golf trip in the same month. I may be in for the fall outing depending on location!!
