Should Tiger play more?

I think it would help his game to play more tournaments this season. If he is healthy and healed in it could help get into a groove come the majors.

Do I want him to play more?  Yes, as long as he is competitive.  I don't care to watch every shot he hits when he throws up a +4 which is what the networks usually cover.

 

Does he need to play more to be competitive again?  I don't really have an opinion on this one.  When you get to the level that these guys are at I think you have to trust them to know what's in the best interest of their game.  I'm not saying we trust their off course decisions :) but I doubt that anyone wants Tiger to win again more than Tiger.  I trust him to know how much he needs to play to do that.

Tiger has always played less golf than nearly every other tour player, he has (as long as I've checked) never had more than 40 events (the minimum number) for his world golf ranking.

 

He's played events he liked, and the big ones carrying huge world ranking points and his own end of season event - which somehow carries world ranking points.

 

He's been very astute, but somehow his body fell apart playing less golf than many of his peers - he's not the only one and it clearly worked well for a longtime....but now?

 

he needs to play and get some confidence - if he's fit then he should play and try and enjoy it.

 

It'd be fun to see him play more.

Whether he plays more or not, he should spend a few hours on the chipping green tomorrow before tee time, or sleep a little longer and work on it this weekend, if you know what I mean.
