Arccos Golf to Launch Arccos Driver at 2016 PGA Show

New Device Boasts Expanded Feature Set Alongside GPS + Live Shot Tracking + Tour Analytics

(STAMFORD, CT) â€“ Arccos Golf – maker of the game's only GPS + Live Shot Tracking + Tour Analytics platform – will introduce Arccos Driver at Booth 3423 during the upcoming 2016 PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, FL.

Boasting an expanded feature set that will be officially unveiled during the Show, Arccos Driver also offers the leading-edge combination of GPS + Live Shot Tracking + Tour Analytics that has made Arccos the game's hottest new technology.

Starting January 27, Arccos Driver will be available for a limited pre-order at www.arccosdriver.com. The product will premiere in April at Apple stores globally, DICK'S Sporting Goods locations nationwide and other leading retailers.

“We aim to innovate in a manner that makes golf more exciting, addictive and fun for everyone from beginners to Tour players,” says Arccos CEO Sal Syed. “Arccos Driver accomplishes that by offering entirely new ways for people to compete with their friends, track their stats and improve performance.”

The Arccos system features a set of 14 virtually weightless sensors that easily attach to the end of a grip. Paired just once via Bluetooth to the Arccos app, these automatically deliver information on distances hit, club averages, driving accuracy, greens in regulation, sand saves, putts and more. The free app also provides Advanced GPS for more than 30,000 courses.

Widely heralded as one of the game's most innovative and beneficial technologies, Arccos is endorsed by 2014 FedExCup Champion Billy Horschel and two-time World Long Drive Champion Jamie Sadlowski.

Further distinguishing Arccos are a suite of social features. These allow users to follow other players, see who is following them, and receive round updates – including holes, stats and bests – directly to their in-app social stream. Instructors and coaches can use this as a tool to “follow” players, instantly receiving their stats upon completion of a round, or gathering valuable information on overall performance via deep dives into statistics, past rounds, Tour Analytics and more.

Developed in conjunction with golf's most renowned statistician, Peter Sanders, Tour Analytics draws from his work with PGA Tour star Zach Johnson and many others. It automatically breaks down a players' handicap into five key components – driving, approach, chipping, sand game and putting – helping golfers:

  • Gain insight into what every shot means

  • Understand exactly how each part of their game contributes to scoring

  • Explore comparative data in each of the five components from golfers with the same handicap

  • Evaluate patterns across their entire golf history, supporting refinement of on-course tactics

Now available at major golf retailers and better pro shops nationwide, and www.arccosgolf.com, Arccos is trusted by top instructors who rely on the system to help their students recognize and correct faults, such as club distance gaps, noticeable shot dispersion patterns and other problem areas.

Led by a team of Ivy League engineers, rocket scientists, PhD's and designers, Arccos Golf is named after a function of advanced mathematics.

Nothing on their website about a Driver.

It's not a club, looks like its the Arccos system but just one tag for the driver.  Here's the link for the teaser.

Entry level- gets all your driver stays and allows you to create games with your foursome, even if they don't have one

Looks like another gizmo that tells you exactly how far you've sliced your ball. Great.

(*sarcasm*)

Seriously though, does it really give any insight whatsoever into what each shot "means"? Other than what you can see with your own eyeball and (crucially) without the aid of a gizmo?

Call me cynical, but asking 59 bucks for a gadget that basically tells you what you already know after you've hit a shot sounds like a waste of money.

They're positioning this thing as an entry level tool. It gives you info about your shot - and all the GPS stuff you get with the app. It also allows for points competitions among your group' even if they do t have the unit. I can see that as adding a touch of fun, especially for the non- serious or more occasional golfer. They're not marketing this thing as a revolutionary golf aid - far from it. Its more for anyone shod like to know how far they hit the driver,, and a layer of handicapped distance competition, as long as you play from the same tees.

I just don't get the whole "social media" thing really. As if; if a device isn't "social" capable it's doomed. I've lived my entire life without having everything I do being revealed-documented to friends or the world for that matter. As far as golf is concerned when I play with a group its a social event. When we all hit a shot we find out who is the longest. Don't need social media or an app for that. If my buddy is out playing tomorrow and I'm not I don't really care what he's doing on every hole or how far he hit his driver on #4. I have a life to live without being concerned with everyone else's mundane life.

As far as golf technology goes I do like it. But if it's not social connected that's perfectly all right by me.

Yes... I guess you can call this forum "social media". But that's about as far as it goes for me.

Have you heard about Facebook? It's a pretty big thing going on with this internet-system ;)

Have you heard about Xbox and Playstation? They have rewards/badges/points or whatever and millions of people using it to rank themselves against others.

If you want to "measure" the importance of social media, take a look at advertising. Where do they spend money? Paper? TV?

Saying that social media isn't important is like that guy who didn't believe in computers being something for everyone.

haaaaaa... furu calm down. LOL You can have all the social media and be as connected as you like. I'm an old guy. It's just not my thing. But if you'd like me to update you constantly throughout the day about my life I'd be glad to send you a bunch of emails. :D
