Popular Post Tom the Golf Nut
To my dear wife. I know you are not reading this (thank goodness) but I have done some high level evaluations. Since I walk over 90% of my rounds and it increases my fitness, health, and longevity and I have saved $20.00 per round on cart fees. That equates to saving $160 a month minimum. So in order to keep my feet as healthy I think buying new golf shoes every other month is a good idea. Oh by the way my first delivery came today while on my mental health support group call AKA the Community Call. Thank you for your support. I have the blue smoke in my 3 wood and love it. I liked it, not as much as the Ping 410 LST, but better than my PXG gen 5. I was fitted in the Ventus 6X for the PXG, but I hated that driver. My daughter loves it so I re-shafted the PXG for her. I changed the tip on the Ventus to Cobra and used it half the season, but my buddy @Derek Eskam turned me on to the Jupiter 1 shaft. I really liked it in that shaft. I have my Ping in that shaft but am trying the Newton 5 and 6 Dots in both the 410 and 425 LSTs today. I am a fan of the Jupiter 1 shafts, they play like a + shaft in stiffness. I went with stiff when I bought them. They are straight, really straight so it will be hard to pry me away from them. I have played the Tensei shafts in white, blue and orange. I didn't like them very much. I could play them, but the Ventus and Jupiter shafts were better for me. Happy Birdie Hunting! Popular Post MGoBlue100
Been on a bit of a bender. PXG had a sale, so grabbed a GEN 2 3W. (Did I mention I LOVE how PXG boxes and sends their clubs??) Been wanting to try TRUE Links golf shoes; again a sale, so again I pull the trigger. Word of advice: READ all the literature. Received these very quickly, tried them on (ordered the size I always wear) and they were too small. Huh… Start figuring out a return/exchange process and notice a SMALL link to “What Size Should I Order?” Hmmm… Anyway, they note that the shoes run small, and you should order a 1/2 to a full size larger than normal. So, after a few emails back and forth with their EXCELLENT customer service, a new pair is on the way in a different (and hopefully correct) size. Last but not least, I have an Ogio bag that I like, but the legs have proven to be junk. A sale called my name yet again, and I am now the proud owner of a Ping Hoofer, finally. Also good to hear they have good customer service! Some Golf Galaxy branches stock True Linkswear shoes and you can buy them through the website. A bit far to come to the Indianapolis Golf Galaxy from S Michigan, but last time I looked at shoes they had a number of True Links shoes on display. sirchunksalot, jbern, MGoBlue100 and 2 others 5 Quote 2024 WITB: G430 LST 9* (set at 10*) w. Popular Post Indy_Oz
A small cost purchase, but hoping this new putter grip helps give me more feel and works well with my Sik putter. I thought about going old-school with a Ping blackout skinny putter, but I'll give this a go as middle-ground. It felt good rolling a few putts on the indoor mat earlier, but the real test will be Sunday's round (weather allowing). Initial impressions are good though. Nice amount of grip, firm texture and light weight. Also like the subdued black and grey appearance. Old grip: Superstroke Traxion Pistol 2.0. New grip: JumboMax JMX Pistol Pro. I'm not sure I could use anything but a pistol grip after the way it feels on the DB putter. I've even considered changing them out on the few goodwill finds I've picked up. sirchunksalot, cksurfdude and Indy_Oz 3 Quote WITB-Foremost 551's - 3w, 5w, 5-SW (circa 1998), Top Flite 460cc Driver, Adam's 7w, Warrior GW and 60⁰, Odyssey AI-One DB putter.
