tehuti
I received my first Mullybox since I renewed. Not too impressed this time around. A money clip (?), and a scorecard holder that I won't use. I don't usually carry cash and I use my app to keep score. A pretty decent Mullybox cap, their usual bag of tees that I also don't use and two sleeves of Vice Drive which I kind of like. I have gotten some really cool items from them in the past which I use regularly, so I'll give it another month or two to see if the swag gets better. azstu324
In the MotoreX thread, I was talking about how the adapter epoxy had failed.. so in my complaining to the Mrs about how I had to get my driver fixed, she just said "well how much is a new one?".. and then that turned into "just go buy one". . I nearly $#!t myself. I ended up with the SIM Max 9°. I also had the cobra tip removed and a TM adapter put on. Will be doing a comparison today with the stock Ventus (no Velocore) and the MotoreX. Pretty sure I know the verdict but it will be fun to do anyway. First things first... I realize most guys in this thread are probably aware of this, but Callaway Preowned started their Black Friday sales today. There are some great deals to be had there right now. Speaking of which, I just finished setting up my second bag thanks to them. I just ordered a like new condition Epic Flash 3 wood with an Evenflow shaft for $126. I'll end up paying $40 bucks for it after return a Rogue 5 wood (failed experiment, I'm a 3 hybrid fan) If the Flash performs as well as my Rogue, I'll be vey happy, and will be all finished with my "second set". I have a Flash driver that I bought back in May when the head in my G400 Max cracked at the hosel. About a month ago I was in the PGASS and they had a used 17* Super with the regular flex Aerotech shaft in it for a great price. I hit it on the sim, but even though it went dead straight, I couldn't elevate it enough to get more than 165-170 out of it. If you're looking for a "distance" hybrid that's really long, and easy to hit, check out the Rogue X 18* 3 hybrid. I hit mine 180 off the deck and 190 off a tee. I just picked up some new Cobra hybrids lofted at 19,21 and 24. I'm going to hit the 21* first and see how it gaps with my Rogue X 18*. I have a feeling that's what I'll end up keeping in the bag. I don't expect the Cobra 4 to go as far as my Rogue X 4 hybrid, but I'm thinking it will gap better with my 0211 5 iron. The X is too long. While it is true the Pro Orange wood shaft has an "extremely stiff tip" the Pro Orange 80hy is not as stiff in the tip. It is a pretty stout shaft, but not as low launch/low spin as the wood shaft. I tried the Pro Orange wood shaft and even in r-flex it was just too stout for my smooth tempo. The Pro Orange 80hy in stiff was not anywhere near as stout and I can play that shaft effectively but have a little more success with a lighter and softer tip shaft, so I re-shafted mine with a Diamana Limited 65gm r-flex. But depending on how you swing, the Pro Orange Hy shaft will fit a much larger range of players than the Pro Orange wood shaft. edingc
2 hours ago, chisag said: ... If I could have found a Pro Orange Hy in r-flex I would have re-shafted with it and been very happy. That's great feedback. I ordered a stiff. Typically play low/low in woods anyway, but I like the Recoil in my SpeedZone hybrid which I think is more mid/mid or even mid/high. Regardless, I'm hoping the Super Hybrid fills two slots in my bag as I'm trying to get rid of "single use" clubs. cksurfdude, chisag and StrokerAce 3 Quote Unofficial WHS Handicap: 7.5 / Anti-Cap: 13.0 (Last Updated Feb. 19, 2024) Driver: Callaway Paradym TD (10.5°, -1/N), 45.75", Fujikura Motore X F1 6X | Fitting Post 3 Wood: Cobra RadSpeed Big Tour (14.5°), 43", Fujikura Motore X F1 7X 20° Hybrid: PXG 0211 (2020 Model), 40.25", Mitsubishi Tensei AV RAW White 90X 4 Utility: Cobra KING Utility (2020 Model), 38.5", Aerotech SteelFiber i110cw Stiff 5-PW: Ben Hogan PTx Pro, 37" 7 Iron, Aerotech SteelFiber i125cw Stiff | Club Champion Fitting 50°, 54°, 58°: Edel SMS, V Grind, Nippon Modus 125 Wedge| Official Review Thread Putter: L.A.B. tony@CIC
Ran out to the driving range this afternoon. I typically only take 4 or 5 clubs vs my entire bag which was the case today and of course I forgot to bring a glove. Fortunately the proshop was having sale - they had AN ENTIRE BASKET of right handed gloves 2 for $10. At that price I would have bought all of the XL gloves unfortunately I could only find 2. What a bargain FJ WeatherSoft gloves for 5 bucks each.
