What's the difference between 6* and 10* bounce?

I'm looking at the RTX 2.0 wedge set in 50, 54, 58. Won't have purchasing power for a while but wanted to get an idea in my head of what I need.

So the vendor has these options for bounces and I'd love some recommendations:

50 - 10* only

54 - 6* or 10*

58 - 6* or 10*

4 degrees ;)

Haha but seriously, 4 degrees of bounce is for tight lies or someone with a shallow angle of attack.  However low bounce allows for some versatility around the greens in terms of opening the club face.

I would go with the 54 in with 10 bounce and the 58 with 6 bounce.  Gives you good options for differing conditions.

What Jlukes said is what a lot of people go with and probably a very popular configuration.  That said, i go the opposite,

I have lower bounce .08 in my 54 degree wedge as I play it from a variety of lies and turf conditions and feel it offers the most flexibility, then i have .12 bounce in my 58 as it's used almost exclusively in the bunker or very high rough around the green where I want to almost hit a flop shot style shot.

really depends on the club you chip the most often with; for me it's my 54 degree so I want the most versatility.  Once you figure out what club that is you should go from there; you've got great advice from JLukes and CG2.

This. 54 is also my SW, so more bounce is helpful.

And if I need to open and lob it, then 58 with less bounce is what I use.

Don't make this harder than it needs to be. If you are asking then you simply need the greater amount of bounce on your sand iron. If that's going to be the 54 that's where you take the 10 or more if possible. Less bounce in the greater lofted one because it creates all types of options as your short game becomes more advanced.

Just keep it simple. Seriously

Where do you play out of? Higher bounce for softer conditions, lower for firmer conditions.

0° bounce is the best. I have a 12° bounce 56° and I can hit it off a parking lot. I play a mushy course and a hard pan course. I would like the bounce on the mush, but wish I had a 3-4° bounce wedge for the hard stuff.

Thanks for all the help folks. You all more or less validated my gut reaction.

My course has a combination of very tight fairway lies and lots of swales below the green with some thick bluegrass around the greens and in the rough. My 60 is very low bounce (sm5 with 4 degrees) so that I can hit flops and open face pitches off the tight lies and my 56 is a standard 12 degree for thicker lies. The bunkers can alternate between thin or fluffy depending on the day so could use either one depending on conditions. I could make anything work for the thicker lies but would feel totally handcuffed without the low bounce 60 for the tight lies

As others have said you need to fit bounce with the types of courses you play most...we tend to get lots of hard pan lies in the summer here and I carry a 58* with 4* of bounce for those lies, my 54* has 10* of bounce.
