This is cray. I feel like I've brought shame upon my whole family.... but hear me out OK?

 

I had a match after work today and remembered everything but my flip flops for the ride home. I would've just gone barefoot but my wife texted that I need to get bath supplies for the babies. OMG it was so embarrassing walking through target. I even heard some high school girls laughing at me

 

 

So that's my story. Why don't you guys tell me about a time you've dadded so hard.

OMG I think I soiled myself. Nothing means daddy more than diapers, formula and things for Mom. I had to run out at 2:30am to get pickles for my pregnant wife when 24 hour stores were not existent. Gas stations were the rave then, especially in a bathrobe and moccasins.

Barefoot would have been my preferred option!

 

I really enjoy winding my daughters up before they have friends around. I never actually do anything but they still think I might.

Why didn't you just go sockless or wear your golf shoes?

 

I think it would have draw less attention, perhaps?

 

But I will say I have taken the trash out a few times in socks and flip flops and felt like I crossed a Dad line I can never go back from.

I didn't even think about sockless. Maybe the dad roots are taking a hold.

 

I did think about wearing the golf shoes but I'm funny about those where I don't like to step on anything that's not grass with them. I hate the thought of wearing down the spikes just by walking around a parking lot.

Hit a low point yesterday with my two girls. My wife had some minor surgery this week so I am Mr. Mom for the week. I got my to do list and one of them was to take my girls to the mall for some clothes. My youngest actually asked me if I was going out of the house dressed like that? I had on shorts and a polo and apparently my hat and sandals did not match. I actually had to have my attire approved by a six year old before i could drive her to the mall and buy her things.

Monday through Friday I am in very nice clothes that my wife picks out for me. On the weekends I don't feel like getting all that dressed up. In fairness to me the polo was from Pine Valley.

By day, I'm one of the better dressed people in the office. By night, all bets are off. I just get into trouble when I have to leave the house after getting comfortable.
