Being in the software industry, I'd have to disagree.   Need to investigate how widespread the problems are,  if they are limited to certain platforms, etc.   Also,  there are probably multiple development teams focused on different areas of the application and they continuously release new features and bug fixes so it isn't like it is a single executable.

I understand that, as I use to run a software company in the construction industry. Perhaps that's part of my frustration as we made sure that software updates were bullet proof. My development manager had a motto of fixing before adding new features,

Mobile apps can be a pain in the a$$ for developers, but iOS is typically more stable than android given they have tighter controls over the device standards - my android coding buddies have beta around how unstable their apps will be in the wild …

I confess I have found SS apps to be quite stable, at least on iOS, so I’m wondering if they did some foundational app changes that are now causing these issues.

Hopefully foresight sports doesn’t ever acquire SS. That software, especially the older versions, are awful.

"I am sorry you're having these issues. There were some bugs on editing which we have for the most part fixed now. The release for online dashboard went out last week and the release for mobile is set to go out in the next few days so this should fix things for you"

iOS version 2.13.7 is in the app store in case you aren't set up for automatic downloads. This is supposedly the update to fix all the edit issues.  I haven't tried it yet, but will tomorrow after 18.

Success - edited my round today and no issues with the app. My game...on the other hand - well we won't go into that.

It’s much better! I played Friday and Saturday, downloaded Sunday and was able to edit.

Hi all,

I just received my SS V3 and I went to play use it today with very disappointing results. I'm using an android phone and I would connect the watch, then I go on the watch to PLAY, then I click either GPS, TRACK, or GPS & TRACK. As soon as I click one of those , it's boots the connection between the devices. I have uninstalled, signed out, deleted from Bluetooth, factory reset, reinstall app, reinstall device just to come to the same conclusion several times. Watch is charged to 100%, and my location services are on with the Bluetooth accuracy enabled also. Has anyone had this issue? Or found a solution to this issue?

It seems android is worse than apple, yes? Or is that just subjective.

Same with Arccos. Apple is much better experience than Android.

You don't use the watch and app connected during play. You connect to the app after the round. The watch captures all the shots, then the round is uploaded to the app for viewing, editing and uploading to the Shot Scope servers.

As @PhilM75072 said, you only connect the watch to the phone after your round. Or before the round to sync the course you're playing. It's not the Arccos system, it's better.

Is this another glitch or am I doing something wrong?

So far the latest app version has been performing admirably but in the Clubs/Performance section I'm missing data for my lob wedge for 2023. I have 19 rounds booked in Shotscope  for 2023 but no #'s for my LW which I use in every round. FYI I have LW #'s for previous years. What's interesting is that the LW is captured in the individual holes section of the rounds. Weird. I did send a note off to support.

So there's the other thing. The watch won't find the course when I'm standing there. I downloaded the courses the night prior and I know they are there. I even went to another clubs parking lot to see if it was just that course but still nothing.

That's where the connection issue I believe lies, the phone and watch boot connection when trying to get a round going. The watch needs the app to find the course, no?

No,  the watch doesn't need the app to find the course.    You just start up the watch,  tell it you want to play, what mode to use, and it should find the course.   The GPS connection is in the watch.    The app is used to sync courses,  upload completed rounds, tweak the shot locations, and track performance.

Yes, it says no courses found within 1km. Tried with a few different courses in their parking lots and got the same problem.

You may not be subscribed to courses.  In the app bottom menu third item in is "Courses" ( you'll need to have your watch connected), a list of local courses should come up (you don't need to be next to the course). Scroll through the courses and either subscribe or unsubscribe then you have to click on the "ready to sync button" directly above the "Device Connected" message.  Here's the image from my iPhone = note some of the courses shown here are upwards of 30 miles away from me.   Also I attached Shotscope's instructions.

I definitely am. I start on the PIN screen and it's just spins there and either times out or just goes back to the home screen without being connected. But the watch automatically goes to the normal screen like it connected. Then I go back to connect device and it either does not connect or will after a few attempts. Once I connect the watch then I go to PLAY, hit GPS TRACK, and find in the app that it has gone from device connected to connect a device. This happens while the watch is searching GPS for a course and this never finds a course. Over and over and over. You can see I have courses uploaded and my bag sensors done.

So am I reading it correctly that the watch is not paired with the app? Note the watch could show the screens above but not be paired with the app - if it's not paired it will not show the courses as well. The old standby fix is:  

1. Turn off the watch

2. Log off the app

3. Delete the app (note you may want to turn off the phone as well)

4. Reinstall app & sign in

5. Turn on the watch and sync via the app. 

Note: If this doesn't work shoot a note off to Shotscope support - when you detail the problem let them know you followed steps 1-5. Their first response will be to follow these steps so it'll save you some time.

I'd also suggest a hard reset of the watch.   

 

1) Turn the watch on by pressing the top left button.

2) Hold down the top left button for approximately 15-20 seconds until the screen goes blank.

3) Press the top left button once to turn the watch back on.

This should now have reset the watch successfully for you.

Please note that no data or saved settings will be lost following a reset.

Great point about the hard reboot of the watch. I had to do that once - your instructions are a good reminder.

The problem with not finding a course is the watch, not your phone. 

not being able to enter the code to link via bluetooth is probably that you need to turn off your phone and hard reset the watch.  Even on the iphone it took me a couple of tries, but I have been fine once I got them sync'd

I have a V3 and an Android phone .. never used the phone's BT settings directly - the app does that when you click its "Connect" function.

@TylorJudd - on the "Courses" screen try clicking the "Sync" tab, above the list of courses, to see if indeed they have been synced to your watch..?

This was something I did for Arccos. I had an older iphone which I used just for this. It was nice because it was much smaller than my normal phone and functionality was better. 

Hopefully someone at SS sees this and puts the bug in someones ear to help improve the android side of things... meanwhile I am hearing @GolfSpy_BOS in the back of my head teasing me saying just switch to apple lol
