I may look into the shotscope and see how that works. You can select the hole you start from. My league is a shotgun start, so I change start holes each week. Arccos defaulted to hole 1 after I tried to start from 9 once, but every time since it's worked fine for me. I start my round on my Apple Watch, if that makes any difference. 9 minutes ago, Preeway said: Agreed. It really isn't that hard to make adjustments after the fact through the website. I hate doing it but it really isn't that difficult. I add shots at the end of the hole (so I don't slow the group down) using the iphone if it has missed any. Usually the missed shots (for me) are limited to repeated use of the same club in a short distance (duffed chips/ bunker fails) or putts. I had a sensor unscrew and fall out of my gap wedge mid-round last week and I had to add each of those shot as I played. Annoying but not difficult. I also noticed that when adding a shot during the hole (or at the end of the hole), little shot indicator '+' symbols pop up where the app has detected the sound of a shot (I'm assuming that's why as it seems to align), so I can tap on one of those and then select the club. So how does it work if you start on say 16. The app is set up to quit after 18 and it picks up that you have gone to the club house. At least that is the way the android app is set up. To get the app to go back on track and continue the round at hole 1 is an effort in manual hole changes for every hole, sometimes every shot. Now granted I have not used the Arccos in not quite a year because of the not continuing the round past hole 18. It may have changed. I don't know. I was going to go try today, but my putter sensor is dead and the app wont let you start a round if you do not have a putter. After finding out the putter sensor was dead, well that really was the last straw. I ordered a ShotScope V5. I am done with Arccos. Popular Post sirchunksalot
Good morning everyone on this community call Thursday! It's a nasty morning here with the rain coming down. I have a feeling I won't get a round in tomorrow like I was hoping. I'm taking off after lunch since we're not producing cars tomorrow and I don't want to be bored out of my mind. Not to mention, if I feel anything like I did yesterday I might not work at all. I got off work and felt like I'd been run over by a freight train, back was sore and my feet felt like I'd massaged them with a buzz saw. I'm feeling better this morning and hopefully it'll all go good today. I'm looking forward to the call this evening and talking to all of you who make it. I hope you all have a wonderful day! Popular Post Northern Monkey
Good morning all, overcast and cooler here today but still pleasant. Dog sitting duties today as the Boss is in the office but hoping to get a round in tomorrow if I finish work on time. Im still waiting on the new wedge arriving. DPD have had it for the last 8 days and the tracking has said it would be delivered every day since but still not here. Hoping it arrives so I can take it out tomorrow. Popular Post Bad Golfer
Good morning Spys! No golf for me last evening but I did get some practice in hitting balls into my field. I was a bit inconsistent when I got a YouTube notification on my watch for a video saying to extend your arms through impact. Timing couldn't have been better as that was the key to nice high long shots. The one thing I did notice is that timing of the arms extension is definitely crucial as I did hit a few fat. I play leagues tonight so hopefully I can be consistent and not have any 3 putts. Good luck to everyone heading out today and hit them strait! Popular Post ParFore74x
Good morning everyone. Should be a nice warm day in the low 80s with partly sunny skies and no rain which means that the clubs can go to work with me today. Play 18 or hit the range again? We shall see. Put in about an hour at the range yesterday in an attempt to keep the tempo as smooth as possible. Had some struggles with the 5 iron but the 8 iron and gap wedge were pretty solid. Benefit to using a range where you pickup your own balls was the guy next to me that was using way more balls than I was. It forced me to keep everything as smooth as possible and stay relaxed so that I didn’t get done way before him. Got my timing down so that we both walked down range at the same time without having to stand around and watch. Popular Post fixyurdivot
Top of the pot spies . Working on cup #2 and catching up on email and MGS posts. I worked hard for a 78 yesterday in men's league play, only 1 birdie that did not hold up for net or gross skin, and yielded a T6 for individual quota. It's a tough crowd in flight #1 . My putting distance control was pretty much AWOL and cost me two 3 putts on GIR holes . Those are so dang maddening. I'm working on a Robert Trent Jones Trail trip with some friends this October. The plan is to play Oxmoor Valley courses (including Ross Bridge) in Birmingham, then drive to Montgomery and play the Capital Hill courses. The price quote we received is pretty good and I don't think we could do much better DIY. They set-up the hotels and tee times and have a reasonable cancellation policy. Popular Post Shrek74
Good morning, Spies. Happy Pre-Friday! It's Friday for me as I'm taking tomorrow off, for no reason other than we have a long "no holiday" span from July 4th to Labor Day and I've learned over the years to try and take a few long weekends when we have those long gaps. Happens in the first part of the year too, going from MLK Day to Memorial Day. I found it just helps with my sanity to take the occasional long weekend during those long spans. I may get lucky and get some golf in tomorrow as we may get a break in the rain. We'll see. Still not much going on here to share. Just business as usual. Popular Post rkj427
Good morning Spies on a Community Call Thursday. Our last full day here in Wisconsin, and more than likely we will all be out and about today in the quaint downtown area. Played yesterday, posted in both the Virtual Tour and How Did You Play topics, but if anyone visits this area, both courses I played are well worth the trip. Jason, @sirchunksalot hope that the weather improves there, as well as your health feelings too. Hope that all here have the best day possible, and that something fun and enjoyable is in your plans. ejgaudette, Northern Monkey, ILMgolfnut and 10 others 13 Quote Driver & Fairway: Titleist GT2 8 degree - Ventus TR Red & TSR3 15 - Hzrdus Black Gen 4 Hybrid: TSR2 21 degree - Hzrdus Black Gen 4 Irons: Titleist T200 3G (4) & T150 - (5-G) - Modus 105 Wedges: Vokey SM9 54, and 58 Putter: Cameron Phantom X 5 Ball: Pro V1 & Maxfli Tour Link to Motocaddy M7 w/Remote Trolley & Bag Review
