It's a wet one here in the southeast, but at least the cold and snow have gone bye bye. I'm off work today to go to a doctor's appointment and my wife is up early because she was summoned to testify in court against someone who was selling the stuff stolen out of a bunch of storage units, including ours. 

I'm hoping we can meet up for lunch at our favorite Chinese restaurant. That's all going to depend on her getting done in court on time. 

It's community call day and I'm looking forward to talking to y'all this evening.

Yikes! Good luck to her. I sat on a grand jury years ago and testifying can be very intimidating. I hope justice is served and you didn't keep any of your golf gear in your storage unit.

Good morning! Got to bed a little late last night and slept in a little this morning - didn't roll out of bed until 445. Opened up the shop and got my workout in, now back at work to finish up quotes and then hit the road for some site visits today. Several others have already hit it, but I'll reiterate the dense fog that is around due to warm temps and snow on the ground. It always kinda makes my butt pucker when I have to drive through it and can't see more than 50 yards! But, I'll take the much warmer upper 30's and low 40's that are forecast for the next week over the crap we had last week!

Go get you some and make today great!

The weather has turned warm. It will be in the high 60’s low 70’s for the next 4 days. I woke up looked at my work schedule to see where I can fit some golf in. Then I opened the blinds and saw that thing that brings sadness to all golfers. RAIN!

Then I looked at the updated weather forecast for the next 4 days. RAIN ! Mother Nature is toying with me. I guess the Sim will see some action at lunch time today.

Good morning spies! Nice here in Mesa this morning with a pleasant 50 degrees this morning. Picking day today and I hope we get a big crew. The yard we are picking has 26 orange, grapefruit, lemon, and tangerine trees that are just loaded with fruit. It will take two days with 25 geriatrics picking to clear the yard and we will get 2000 pounds of fruit off the trees today. 

Played a decent round yesterday especially after deciding that I wasn't missing any more 5 foot putts. Putting zeroed right in. If it was 10 feet or closer I holed it, and that was loads of fun as well as a big confidence builder.  Might make it to the pitching and chipping area this afternoon. I have a definite written plan in a notebook where I can note success and miss percentages for a measurable performance matrix. I am going to get better at this!

Dear Depressed,

I feel your pain. I'm in Fayetteville for work today after my side trip to Pinehurst #3 yesterday. Rained here overnight, not raining now, but unusually muggy for January. No matter. Work and then drive to Greensboro for more work. I could conceivably play a morning round there Friday, as all my appointments are after lunch, but probably not. I will try to hit the hotel fitness center though. I was unusually sore last night after playing 18, and the only way to fix that is to get in better golf shape.

Unfortunately, that schedule also means no community call tonight. But I will be sneaking peeks at the forum to see what the new testing opportunity is. Have a great Thursday, Spies!

Good morning all from a damp Wisconsin morning. Colds are starting to recede for the boys which is great and our oldest was able to go back to school today. Lots of kids were out in his class this week, surprise surprise. 

All signs are pointing to everyone feeling much better by Saturday for our trip to Madison for the Brick Fest LEGO expo. Personally cannot wait for this as I, too, still love LEGOs lol. Last night my oldest and I finished up a big LEGO Technic Ford Mustang GT 500 that is also a pull back car. Will snag a photo later today to share with everyone, he was super proud to get it complete. He did a good 80% of the work as I am more or less the designated "piece finder" . Another really cool aspect of this particular one was that it includes some AR elements through a phone app where you can scan a room and it sets up a little drag race track. Then it times how fast your car goes from start to finish, just really neat. 

Hoping to be able to hop on the community call later today, always a Thursday highlight.

Good morning all!  

Working from home today and then I have cub scouts with the boys.  We're building pinewood derby car holders tonight so that should be fun.

It's also time to start building this year's cars so I need to figure out which tool I want to add to my collection this year!

First year it was a few simple tools, some saws, sanding blocks, paints, clamps, etc.

Second year we added a Dremel.

Last year we actually didn't add any tools, the derby sort of snuck up on us!

The cubmaster sent us all a few good links on making fast cars so we'll watch that video together before we get into the design phase.

Good morning! Similar to @rkj427, @ParFore74x, @EasyPutter, @Cfhandyman and @taylorjonasher, I woke up and drove through some incredibly dense fog this morning. I'm dragging this morning and I thought it was because of the fog, but then I remembered how much fun I had at the simulator last night and that we were there until after midnight! It was a lot of fun!

Yesterday was a success for my daughter's egg allergy test! She passed and we can now ease her into all products that contain egg before giving her actual egg in 4-6 months!

Good morning spies!

Foggy and rainy day here in Chicago. Snow has mostly melted and there's no salt on the sidewalks anymore, which my dog is thankful for (he hates his snow booties). 

Was able to hit up the simulator last night to work on some mechanics and again this morning to play a quick 18 before work! Played Franklin Hills CC in Michigan and shot an 82 with four doubles. Not too shabby.

Excited to watch more of the Farmers today and even more excited for the weekend to come tomorrow.

The town I grew up in held the "Western Canada Soap Box Derby" from 1946-1973. The winner went to Akron Ohio for the North American Soap Box Derby. It was a really big deal and a festive time. A special track and stands were built for the event. The original was held down a hill on main street... Thank you for volunteering for cub scouts...

I still have fond memories of building derby cars with my dad and then building them with my sons. Plenty of tricks out there.

You got to watch the movie “Down and Derby” from 2005.

Sorry to hear about your tire troubles Chuck.  I'm sure plugs are safe, but I've have always been one to replace the tire (if I can find the same make/model/tread) or just replace them all if I can't get a match and the tires have seen a lot of miles.  Maybe that goes back to my car racing days; tires were so critical for performance and safety.  Also, out here in the wide-open spaces of the West, it can be a long way between service stations and tire dealers.  It has always been one less thing for me to worry about.

Good morning all. What I like to refer to as "my other expensive hobby" is playing the various saxophones in several bands. Last night I had a concert band rehearsal and the area was socked in by fog. Needless to say, it was an interesting drive back and forth.

Good Morning everyone!!  Well today is just like yesterday... 33º and freezing fog turning to rain later.  I hate Januarys.  Three weeks until our Palm Springs trip!!  Can't make the community call today; meeting with our insurance company. Then I have to do battle with my email provider... it's always something!!

Grandson and I recently finished the Technic Porsche 911.  Biggest challenge was finding and organizing parts as none of the bags or instructions were labeled.  First one we’ve done like that.  Here’s an interesting Lego story….

After 2 weeks of cold and wet wintery weather, Old Man Winter is giving us a break next week.  My wife said I should treat myself and play golf all week.  I am loving her more by the minute.

Not a whole lot going on today, just more of the work grind. The drive in this morning was nothing but dense fog for about 45 minutes, I was almost certain a deer was going to surprise me. I keep checking the forecast each day to see if it's going to get cold again, but so far so good. One day closer to Spring!

Dear depressed, 

Now it's the time to spend the next 4 rainy, dreary days perusing local golf shops testing new golf equipment in order to give yourself a good boost of dopamine. You don't have to purchase anything but I have it on good authority that the newest drivers from Ping and Cobra are on the retail shelves. 

Thank you to everyone for the well wishes today. I just got to the doctor's office and I haven't heard from my wife yet on how the trial is going. I'm fortunate I don't put my golf equipment there but most of what got stolen was her mom's jewelry and we didn't have photos. Hopefully we'll be able to recover some of it since they caught the person who was selling it.
