Ditto for me two weeks ago. I was quickly referred to an orthopedist, who gave me a cortisone injection and referred me to PT; I went to PT Monday. The injection has made the shoulder feel a lot better and PT is already improving the range of motion. Good morning, Spies! A cloudy morning in central NC with rain expected later. I may try to get some putting practice in later, weather permitting, after taking my Garmin to the range yesterday for some data collection with the driver. It recorded a top swing speed of 81 mph, which will be my baseline when I start the fitness/swing speed work in the next week or two. I kinda rotate hotels when I come to Raleigh twice a month, depending on rates and what's available near our office, but a common place to stay is within sight of the arena that houses the NHL Hurricanes and the NC State basketball team. I know not to stay here when the Canes are playing at home; the rates go way up and it's packed with hockey fans. So I was surprised last night to find that State had a home game against Duke; there was no bump in the room rates and it wasn't particularly busy. Except for two people at breakfast this morning in NCSU garb, I never would have known there was a game across the street last night. Granted, any Duke fans probably would have just driven the 25 miles back to Durham after the game instead of getting a room. buckpillar, ParFore74x, Kenny B and 9 others 12 Quote Obsessed with chasing the dimpled orb. Popular Post Kenny B
Good Morning everyone!! A beautiful, almost sunny 33º today; might get to 50º. Wife is playing with her lady friends after the frost delay. I think I will head out when it warms up a little… practice and maybe join up with them to walk the back nine, unless they have a foursome. The back nine is shorter and flatter than the front nine, but it is difficult to get on as the tee sheets are always full. Don’t feel like walking the hills on the front nine today after my PT yesterday. If you can play, hit ‘em straight… the course is shorter that way!! ejgaudette, Cfhandyman, rkj427 and 11 others 14 Quote “We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”

Erin B
59 minutes ago, Shrek74 said: Good morning and happy Second Monday, Spies! It's another beautiful day here in Central TN. Lovely 55* degrees at the moment, going for a high of 61. Sadly, rain coming this afternoon. Great for watering the lawn, courses, and filling up the lakes. Not so much for running errands or anything to be done outside. Work started on the laundry room yesterday, taking down the various trim off half of the walls so far. Turns out it's all cheap pressed board crap, which is sad for a house of this value. What's worse is that the area of the wall below the high trim is all pressed board as well and not drywall. We're going to leave it and fill the pathetic gap the installers left when they built the house, but it's just sad to see this low quality if work in a house like this. You can see the before (left) and after (right) of the trim in the below picture. We still have no clue why someone would spend the money to have something like this done in the laundry room. Plus there's beadboard and crown molding in the garage too. The cabinets and shelf unit will all come out and we're going to put in all new wall/base/utility cabinets on the right and left walls, plus a small bench on the wall to the right in the picture. So we have a bit of work ahead of us still, but dad and I will get it done in a timely manner. Everyone have a wonderful Second Monday! Unfortunately that's the norm now. Popular Post Tom the Golf Nut
Good morning, everyone. Just finished up a bunch of reports and stuff for work. I'm in the need for some breakfast right about now. I have been waiting on a plumber since Friday. Every day he says he is coming today. We have a leak from the upstairs bathroom when you turn on the shower. Unfortunately, the leak showed up by way of my bedroom ceiling. My fear is they will have to open up the wall in one of the upstairs bedrooms to get to the issue. That means sheet rock replacement, spackling, sanding and painting in the bedroom and spackling, texture matching, stain block and painting the Master bedroom ceiling. Not fun but I'll get r done. It sure would be nice to be golfing instead. That's the fun and challenging part of the game, keeping the mental focus and fortitude for an entire round. As @Jim Shaw said, I'm pretty proud of the fact I kept it together for all but one hole and really only made the one mistake of taking on some trees instead of taking my medicine and punching out. It's a great learning experience and hopefully I'll remember it the next time I'm faced with that situation. I had a lot of fun yesterday and was as relaxed as I can remember on the course. The guys I was playing with were great and I spent a lot of time laughing and having fun. I know I was mentioning one bad hole, but there are plenty of shots I am looking back on and trying to ingrain those in my memories. I nearly chipped in twice, I hit a beautiful shot into a green from 100 yards out, had the right club in my hands to get some GIR'S, and hit some good shots from the sand.
