Good throwback Thursday spies! 

This is the daughter unit and I in North Dakota a couple years ago for her USA hockey district camp. Of course we got some golf in. Oh, and the spousal unit decided I need to try psycho bunny golf apparel out so while we’re in Denver we went shopping. 

Guess I’m spoiled. Anyway there it is. Hope all goes well for you guys today.

Good Open Thursday/Community Call morning, Spies!

As if I needed further evidence, I have once again proven myself to be an idiot. We got schedules switched around in two weeks to cover me taking my once-every-10-years test on the 25th. Only it's on the 26th, which does not work with our switching around. I can move the test to the 1st, which would allow us to go back to the original schedule, but I'm waiting for my manager to okay that. In the meantime, shaking my head at myself.

One patient in Fayetteville today, should take about 30 minutes. She doesn't get a drug infusion because she got the most likely side effect of our treatment, which the FDA seems to think is worth the risk. So we skip the infusions and do physical exams (like today) and monthly MRIs until the side effect resolves. Once it does, we can resume treatment, if the patient wishes. She has said she does. Then drive to Greensboro. I might actually have time to watch some golf today. Don't think I'll detour through Pinehurst hoping to get in a round though. As I suspected, all of their courses are closed this week.

Playing later this morning with some retired military friends that I used to play in a league with about 10 years ago.

@Woodrow72 best of luck with your round today, and @cksurfdude hoping that the other club may be all you want or need to make an easy choice.

@William P best of luck with your wedge fitting later today! 

Uncertain if I will make the call later today, SWMBO needs to prepare for a cross state trip to see her granddaughter in the Miss Michigan Teen program tomorrow morning.

90 degrees forecast for league night.  Way too much analysis paralysis choosing electric vs push cart.  Either way there will be sweat.
Snagged a used 9 wood off ebay.  Judging from the amount of club boxes accumulating in the basement, I may have a problem.

Nice day yesterday and got hair cut with my son which we always enjoy that time together.

Today is a busy one, a number of meetings, kids are gonna hit the lake for a bit before we wrap up the day with taking the kids to a movie this evening. It should be a great time.

Good sunny, no clouds Thursday MGS Nation! No golf on the agenda today: have my ultrasound appointment to get the right calf looked at. Finally walking almost like a real human being now, which is very exciting! It's been since Friday .... ugh, that I've swung a club in joy and am hoping beyond all hope that the doc has excellent news today! Chomping at the bit to get back on course... there is work to be done with our fickle game. Community call will be joined today on my way home from work, sounds like it's going to be a good one!

Good morning, Spies!! Happy Fri ... um I mean Thursday!!

Another beautiful morning here. Sun shining bright and temp in the mid 60's. I'm thinking summer is finally here. 7-day forecast only shows Monday with a 30% chance of rain.

My irons and wedges are here. I'm super excited to get them on the course this weekend. It'll be a major change from what I'm used to, but it'll be a good change I think. Although the Takomo 101's I've been playing are not a bad club, I've just never felt in sync with them. Even with my fitted DG120 S300 shafts, I was just never fully comfortable with them.

Good Morning everyone!!  Glad to be home!!!!  A really long trip across the country but it was worth it!  On the way to Kingsmill to play golf in the MGS Outing, we stopped at Mt. Rushmore… my wife wanted to see it before some idiot blew it up.

Our route took us to Billings MT, Rapid City, SD, Des Moines, IA, Chillicothe, OH, Lewisburg, WV before we got to Kingsmill.  We had lunch with two couples in Chillicothe that I’ve worked with and played a lot of golf with over the years.  We got to Lewisburg, WV in time for dinner, but a T-Storm knocked out the lights until midnight.  

After 4 1/2 rounds of golf with the best people on the planet, we headed to Johnson City, TN where we stayed with friends I’ve worked with for over 30 years.  Then we headed through North and South Carolina and Augusta, GA to see a couple that used to live here in Richland, but moved to Dublin, GA last year.  We’ve played a lot of golf with them over the years.  

Headed home through Nashville; spent the night in Paducah, KY.  If you are ever near Paducah, I recommend stopping at Patti’s 1880’s Settlement for the 2 inch pork chop!  I was there in the 1990’s and since I was close, I had to go again!  The next morning we went through St. Louis and Kansas City heading west.  My wife waived as we went through Columbia, MO where she spent one semester at the all women’s Stephens College in the 1970’s… she hated it!!  We spent the night in Junction City, KS where I got turned around and found myself at a gate with a few 18-somethings with rifles at Ft. Riley.  T-storm warning that night!!  The next night we were north of Denver and had dinner with a couple that moved there two years ago from Richland.  They were constant golf companions over the past 20 years.  Our last night was in Ogden, UT.  When we left, we stopped in Nampa, ID and had lunch with my uncle who is 87 years old.  Overall, a great trip, but probably my last long road trip… fortunately, Martha and I are still married!!

I haven’t played golf since Kingsmill and my next opportunity will be this Saturday with winds 20-30mph… fun!!

I haven’t spent any time reading through the GM thread, so I’m sure I have missed a lot and I’m sorry for not responding.  It will take awhile to catch up.  Have a terrific Thursday!!

Good morning Spies!

Checking in from rainy Chicago on day 1 of the US Open. I've been following Tiger's featured group and he seems to be playing pretty well all things considered. We'll see how he holds up for the rest of the round. Going to be tough to get any work done today! I think every major should be a national holiday, right??

Should be able to make the Community Call this afternoon. I don't know much about the Vortex brand, but I'm always interested in learning more about other companies and what they can bring to the golf community. Best of luck to anyone applying to that test!

Good morning everyone! Starting the day out watching the US Open and sipping on some coffee. I can't lie, that isn't a bad way to start the day! My wife and I have a meeting with a mortgage lender to talk about buying a home, so that is an exciting way to start the morning as well. Might be able to sneak out to the course this afternoon/evening, which would just make this day a great one.

Morning all! I’m up drinking some good coffee and working on the laptop with the US Open on in the background. I have a few meetings today then I’ll try to sneak in 9 or maybe 18 later this evening. This weekend is going to be busy, our anniversary is tomorrow (our first with a baby) and then Friday is Father’s Day and my brother-in-law’s birthday, so I’m trying to take it a bit easy today before all of that haha

Good Morning!

Breakfast watching the open.  How great is that…The course looks great on TV.  I think the TV feed flattens out the greens. 

It’s a great course, but so tough.  Some times great shots get rewarded (but it’s rare), but if you land in the wrong spot the chips from the run off areas are almost impossible.  I remember watching my ball comeback to my feet too many times to count.  But it was still a ton of fun.  I played a more forward tee since you need a shorter iron to the green to even have a chance.  Can’t imagine how hard it would be playing at this length with US Open green speeds.

i hope Tiger makes the cut.

Good morning everyone. Enjoying a cup of coffee and a sausage egg McMuffin from the microwave. Gonna watch a little coverage of the US Open before leaving for my loop at Arbor Links this afternoon. Getting to that time of year where afternoon loops are going to really suck with the heat and humidity. Will have to catch the cliff notes version of the community call and intrigued to learn more about this newcomer to the rangefinder market. I really like my Bushnell V5 but I might be looking to upgrade to something that is waterproof for those days I caddy in the rain and perhaps has a tracking mechanism for those rare occasions when I leave it on the cart. Morning All,

Late arrival to the thread today as we had command PT. That was in fact not a real workout, we played kickball. My team was doing well, but we committed two errors in the same frame and wound up losing, which meant we had to take a lap around the entire ball field. No golf planned for today, going to get out tomorrow morning and play though. Then Date night with the wife tomorrow evening. I'm excited for that as we are going to find a restaurant that we have not been to. Anyway, Hope everyone has a great day.

What a morning so far, and boy am I late getting around the MGS community posts!

Stuck in court for a whole Lot of hours and virtually no service inside.  Jury duty is just one step below this, and at least there, they feed you! 5 cases to trial today, and a book case full of paperwork to go with it!  I'm sad I will miss the CC!

Good Morning Spies.

Unfortunately my golf game has been really out of sorts the last couple rounds. looking to spend the next few days trying to dedicate to some full shot practice. I seem to just get myself in compounding trouble and am missing by only a few yards. Time to try and get back into my range rat form. Luckily last night I was able to have dinner with friends who were in town so it was nice to catch up over a bottle of wine and forget about all that stuff.

I hope to be able to join the Community call today but work will dictate that possibility.

Probably the worst part was taking everything out of her SUV and up to the hotel room every night, then loading up the car again every morning… can’t leave the clubs in the car overnight!!  Living out of a suitcase; never unpacking is awful.

The game gives and then takes away! Know exactly how you feel as I was grooving heading into last weekend and then seemingly forgot how to putt or hit consistently good approach shots.
