@jbern I remember annual classes like that. I never had a reason to do CPR of which I am thankful. I did have to put on a Scott Airpack one time due to a massive gas leak and subsequent fire suppressant release. I was nine floors up in a turbine module when a 4 inch overhanging mass valve broke off due to high frequency stress vibration. There was 3000 psi natural gas in a 20 inch pipe behind that 4 inch valve. The air got real bad real fast.  

Hate the re-certification for H2S…The practicum always seems to be in 100+  temperatures.

Good morning spies,

Up early-ish, going to hit the range and putting greens before playing 18. I usually skip the "warm-up" part and jump straight onto the course, but decided to give it a go and see what the fuss is all about

Will be taking out the new Mizuno putter and self-testing the Nexgen balls I received, can't wait to see how both perform.

Lastly, thank you to the forum staff for their work on the update. It's running great and a lot of the small issues I previously had on the mobile version have disappeared.

Morning all! It's a nice day here in OK (at least so far) with some cloud coverage and a gentle breeze. I have spent my morning working on the patio with my laptop and gearing up for a busy weekend. Luckily, before that, I got to play in our Wednesday night league last night and played well and this afternoon I have an appointment with a Callaway fitter to look at some iron options. As I'm sure I'm not alone, watching Bryson play last week has me thinking about two things: he doesn't focus on being able to move the ball both ways with his irons, he just wants to hit consistently straight, then why am I so focused on buying irons that I can go both ways with? Next, I read that he plays graphite shafts because he can get the weight he wants (125g) with the stiffness of something heavier and thus, retain more clubhead speed.

So. I'm going to go try some Callaway irons and try to be openminded, but pair them with a graphite shaft that offers stiffness I need at my speed, with a little less weight to stay fast! I'm probably overthinking this all, but its fun

Good morning Spies,

Uppa with a cuppa early to play 9 this morning. Had to get out to beat the heat. Just finished my best 9 holes ever, so I'm pretty stoked about that little occurrence. My ball striking with my irons has been really improving. It's starting to show. I can thank a video from Danny Maude that has made a huge difference. 

 

 

The rest of the day is pretty relaxed.

That sounds like a terrible situation to be in! I have not had to use any of the training for an emergent situation yet myself. I'm hoping I never have to, but it doesn't hurt to be informed to hopefully make the situation easier to handle, if it arises!

Trying to get my 6 year old into golf, so he’s taking part in the local First Tee program. He swings a baseball bat left-handed, but I think we’re going to try to focus on golfing right handed. Thoughts?

Just a personal thought: My youngest son is a lefty, but plays lacrosse and golf righty... I'd say let him do what is natural to him. Just my 2 cents.

Good morning/ afternoon. After the day at the beach yesterday the high 90s to triple digits heat wave it not feeling great on the sunburn… yeah i know sunblock, well we were dilling into the refreshments pretty heavy and never reapplied. Anyhow, getting some errands done this morning before getting out for 9 holes this evening. Going be a rough one with the sunburn. I think itll be a day in the AC for me till golf. Learn from my mistakes. 1. Sunblock 2. More water hydration. Have a great day everyone

Once heard a while ago that say throw the club upright to him and whatever hand h catches it with tends to be the bottom hand. Im not sure how true this is cause he could also be ambidextrous. I have a friend that was a left but learned to play right and now he plays righty but putts lefty

Good morning Spys! Got all the framing finished up yesterday after work to pour the sidewalks tomorrow so I get that honeydew list shortened up.

This evening is league night so I'm going to play 9 and try to get all the bad shoots out before teeing off at 5 for another 9.

@JJBack some great advice from both @Steve F and @PrismFlopper.

 

i am one who is left handed, but play golf right handed. Baseball would be switch hitting but throw right handed.

Update on the lack of power here is 3 poles down about 1/2 mile away, and they are hoping to have power restored later tonight sometime. More than likely will make the Community Call a no go for me, so I will look for updates on that later in the forum.

As an elderly old man my experience has been that I throw, bowl, write, fight, eat, and drink as a southpaw… Bat, golf, and fist shake as a righty… I am significantly better;  much,  much better at the left handed activities.

Yeah, it was some news that came out just the other week from an insider but then the Wild released an official statement the same day saying that the rumors weren't true and they weren't changing their colors for the upcoming seasons nor doing a full on re-brand.

First timer here, just joined the forum as I dive deeper into the game. Have owned clubs for the past 13 years and played sparingly for some of that time, then just stopped playing all together about 7 years ago. Decided to get back into it now as a way to have some "me" time away from two young toddlers and my lovely wife, and have played weekly since the start of this season and am loving it! Even upgraded my bag a little from my original clubs, which certainly adds to the fun.

Excited to learn more about everything and see what this forum has to offer. Appreciate any tips on best threads to follow here or any tips in general.

Thursday in Philly has been interesting. Most of the people who pre-booked appointments to see us didn't show up. So somebody had the bright idea of hiring someone to go hand out flyers on the street, to people who have no interest in what we're doing but would like the stipend. One of those guys literally fell asleep in front of me as I talked to him, which happens in cases of extreme chemical alteration. He didn't any more know or care what we're doing than I could outdrive Bryson.

My son was born in Hartford. So, I'm a bit partial to this one.
